In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Would I come to you................

To say,
How can kill the cats in my yard? (If you were a cat person.)
THEN WHY? Do people who are aware that I keep snakes feel free to ask me
"how do I kill snakes in my yard?"
Would it be acceptable to go to a breeder of dogs and ask them how to kill the dogs?
No, we would never think of doing such a thing. :shrug01: Why do these people think nothing of asking me how to kill an animal I keep and feel deeply about.
I mentioned a snake show that was coming up, and the person begins to tell me all about this great "Snake Show" called a "rattle snake round-up"
Oh my goodness !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is like saying "you like snakes I am sure you would enjoy the all out torture of a snake"
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH just venting. I know we all go through the ignorance of Non-Snake people. I just find someone asking me how to kill one or many offensive.

Ignorance can be met and conquered from time to time with information: perhaps their ignorance fosters fear; and perhaps those who ask about killing snakes honestly believe they are in some kind of danger; I could see that possibility.
Each question like this can be an opportunity to win someone over. As long as people talk and ask questions, there is always the possibility that minds can be changed.
There was another recent thread describing the difficulties of talking to non snake people and I empathize with those who simply want to avoid dealing with them. However, at the point where someone actually has a snake in their yard and is planning to do it in, it is more than theory, and if you have it in you to try, it would benefit the community and certainly would benefit the snake to take a bit of time and give some useful information.

I do that Lucille, it is the people that listen seeming to "get it"
Then ask again "So how do you kill um?"
That is what drives me so crazy. I know there are some people that can never understand how we feel about our animals. That is so obvious. LoL
I was just venting due to the fact that about 5 people asked me about how to kill
snakes this past week.
Kind of felt like "What is wrong with these people?"
I know the folks that fear snakes may simply see a threat, those that do not care one way or the other just kill to be killing.
I am thinking of writting up a sheet to explain the ways people can repel snakes. I will then hand them out to those who insist on asking me "Just how do you kill them?"

I was asked once "whats the best way to kill a snake?". My reply was quiet simple, "put him in the hands of the uninformed".

That Is so true ZX11.
So many snakes are killed yearly due to uninformed and uncaring people.
Not to mention those with "good intentions".
But this also holds true of any species, including humans.
What a world...........But it is what we have, so might as well make the best of it.
Live, learn, and continue to Live.

sorta the same....RETARDED PEOPLE

I was at my friends pet shop hanging out he got busy and this guy asked for help/questions with a redtail boa, so i decided to lend a hand. He was w/his two sons and 1 of there friends( kid's age were appox 8-12). Among other reasons why i said to this man what I did.... first of all he had no idea how to start to care for it.....his KIDS told him what to do (spoilled lil' brats)...but here is what set me off...He asks..."When I'm done w/the snake ....what do I do with it , let it go outside?.........or what?" i said "excuse me?". He replies you know when the kids get board of it or I don't want it anymore what do I do w/it? So the sensitive people person that I am I said to him " I don't know why don't you ask your Mom what she did with you when she didn't want you anymore"....I walk away he says "excuse me i still have Questions" I reply "NO YOU DON'T"....he says "oh oh yes I do"..... NO YOU DON'T  and i walk to the front of the store ....he followed and paused at the counter I pointed to the door and said keep walkin' the doors only a couple more steps....so he left with all of his teeth(because his kids were present) and my friend said "your HIRED...lol

some people should be spaded or neutered
