YAY!!!!!...first healthy hatchling of the year! **crossing fingers for clutchmate** Little...hopefully girl...is absolutely ADORABLE! It looks like she might have a little bit of an eyelid deformity...not any missing just a bit of a funny shape. I'll keep an eye on that...hopefully its just b/c of funny positioning in the egg and will "clear up"...she's only hatched in the past 5 or 6 hours...I checked the incubator earlier and didn't think anything was going to happen...but at any rate...other than that, she looks perfectly healthy! I'll get some pics up in a few (I'm glad she hatched here at home instead of at school...'cause I have my mom's canon rebel for GOOD pics!). Oh also...this egg hatched after a 12 1/2 hour long car ride from Champaign, IL to here at home in Jersey! I have a water heater incubator and the ziplock container with the eggs in it just floats in the water (I figured it would make for a more consistent temperature)...when I went to come home I left a small amount of water in the incubator to cushion from the vibration of the truck...I lost a few eggs that molded overnight after I got home...but I still have 4 incubating that look ok. Hopefully they'll stay ok!

Great, can;t wait to see pics and hopefully her eye is OK

Sorry about the ones you lost and hope the otehr swill hatch for you too!

Thanks Wendy :)

Ok...I'm gonna go a little photo crazy here...lol I LOVE my mom's camera.... At any rate...here's a few photos of the baby and some of the others.

cute little head!...you can see the eyelid shape here...it definitely doesn't look like anything serious...but if it doesn't "clear up"...which I honestly doubt it will...she won't be used for breeding.

I'm thinking mom's jungle gene must be a co-dom one b/c Bronx isn't supposed to have any jungle influence in him...at any rate...this little girl is just so cute and I love her pattern...I can't wait to see how she turns out! Any name ideas??

At any rate...here are the other photos...man I LOVE that camera.....

Blinkers...

Stoli ...he's such a cutey!...his color is drab I think because he was still stressed from the big move when I took the photo.

Congrats on your first hatchling! She is a beauty! Her eyelid looks like it is drooping a little, not too bad.

They are all nice leos, the baby does have that droppy look like Laura said but it may be OK later, heck my children came out with cone heads but they were of coarse fine within a few days. Maybe it was jsut from running out of room in the egg, at least I hope thats all it is!

she adorable!!!

she a real looker!!! You have a nice family of leos there!!

Thanks everyone! :) I'm really hoping that eyelid straightens out...time will tell ...I just really love that little butt stripe...lol I have no idea what to name her!

Awe s*&^....the clutchmate didn't make it... The egg pipped overnight but no baby...I couldn't feel any movement in the egg so I cut it open a few minutes ago and nothing...perfectly formed little baby that is absolutely adorable...very abberant...could possibly be considered jungle because 2 of her tail bands are joined together underneath the tail....but the yolk was huge and she's dead :(

Christina, sorry the second one didn't make it.
I hope that everything turns out for the first one. That eyelid is barley even noticeable. Hard to say if it is a genetic defect. Watch it carefully when it starts to shed and good luck with any other eggs.

Thanks Jeremy...Sake seems to be doing well so far...the eyelid is BARELY noticeable just looking at her...I didn't even notice it until I looked at the photographs and then had to really look for it on her since she's so tiny! I'll be sure to keep an eye on it when she sheds. I have 5 eggs incubating currently (hopefully I'll have some more soon...). I only have 1 more from Sake's mom though...who now belongs to a friend of mine...so I won't have any more babies out of her...I really hope the other egg hatches!

Sorry to hear of your lost. But the one that hatched is very nice looking. Good luck with the rest of your eggs.
