In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was told this is either a yellow belly or a tiger. Please let me know what you think.

Another not-yellowbelly.

Did you guys not trust the person you bought all these animals from? If not, why deal with them? Just curious.

We picked them in a lot, there were over 30 bp's total, someone was giving up and we got a hell of a deal.

Well I got albinos, lessers, spiders, pastels, a pewter type morph I'm not sure of, and 7 proven breeder females for $900, try beating that.

No offense here, but no thanks. To each his own I guess. I'd much rather pay through the nose for excellent examples of the morphs I like, than shop the bargain basement bins for morphs I have to ask others to identify.

:iagree:
I hope you quarantine those.

First off I want to say that I am also a quality junkie. I'll gladly pay extra for great looking examples...with that being said though, for someone just starting out, 8 proven breeder females whether any are YB's or not is worth $900.
So saying you'd rather pay more for better examples doesn't really come into play here. Unless you mean you'll pay more for better "normals".

Of course this is all in assuming he really got the deal he claims, if he did and he is just starting out good for him. I don't see an issue. Essentially he paid only for the normals and got whatever morphs for free.

We should all just take it easy a bit.

No it's not a YB.

That is true

That is exactly what happened, I've been doing this for 2 years now and joined up with a buddy. We got a deal of a lifetime from someone dumping all his animals off cause he could not keep them. But we are kind of new to this, every animal is in excellent health eat on a regular basis and I can identify morphs, I asked for help with 3 out of 30.

I'm sayin' I don't go around looking for the most animals I can get my hands on for the cheapest price. Especially if I didn't have a clue on my own what I was looking at. I've always been blunt. Don't like it, I'm sure you know where the ignore setup is ... Not all of us are inclined to be care-bears.

More drama? Sure!!

Where did you come to the conclusion that this guy went around looking for the most animals he could get his hands on for the cheapest price? Assumption? Awesome. That's a fun game.
Next he says he's asked id on only a few snakes, if this is true I'm not sure about your other assumption here..."Especially id I didn't have a clue on what I was looking at". Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. Assuming either way.

This is fun isn't it?

Lastly, being blunt...yeah I've noticed alot of people are real blunt on their keyboards, I've been on Fauna long enough now though- no need to ignore.

You can continue telling this guy all you want about how he shouldn't shop around for the lowest prices he can get but until we KNOW that is actually the case then it seems moot.
I was only going off what I read in this post though, if you know something I don't I will be the first to apologize.

I'm going to spend some time with my kids though, I'll be happy to keep this fun game up when I come back.

To the op, if you don't know about quarantine and the basics of keeping these animals, nothing else will matter.
If you really think you can just keep them in one big tub, I'll have to agree that you should not have bought these. Not because of needing help to verify a few, but no one needs a large group of animals without knowing the essentials.

No, that was sarcasm. I would never keep my animals housed together. And the snakes were something we stumbled upon on Craigslist so it was simply dumb luck. And lastly I am very versed at caring for and breeding these creatures. No I have not been at it for 30 years like some of the fossils out there thinking they know it all, but I do have a strong knowledge of what I have gotten into.
