    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey all :) Just registered and I figured it'd be good to introduce myself.
I'm reasonably new to reptiles in general, but have loved them for years.
I currently own a 4 month old western hognose and a children's python that I just picked up at an expo a few days ago. Trying really hard not to blow every spare dollar I have on new snakes right now lol. I only have so much space in my apartment!

Welcome JoyLee. Warning, this is a very addictive hobby, you will fill the apartment in no time! Enjoy Fauna.

JoyLee welcome! They make something called a rack which is like a high rise for reptiles so you can keep way more than you thought :D
And there is even a vendor in the classified caging section who has for many years made pre-cut liners for cages and racks, making it even easier to have more.

LOL oh boy do I know it hahaha
I actually have a shelving unit that I just bought specifically to turn it into a snake rack. I don't have the power tools to do the cutting needed for it, but I have multiple friends that immediately offered to help when I mentioned needing to cut things down :D Just need to pick up the heat tape and clear floor space!

It's taking all the self-restraint I have to make sure I stick to one snake in quarantine at a time! A 2 bedroom apartment doesn't allow for a lot of distance for quarantining - would be even worse with multiples in quarantine at once I'd imagine.

Oh, also, if anyone has any care tips for western hognoses or children's pythons, feel free to shoot them my way - particularly for children's pythons!
I think I have a pretty good handle on Kouyou (my hognose), but Kiji (the python) is the newer of the two, and I didn't do as much research for her as for Kouyou beforehand.

Welcome!

You might post any care questions you have in the discussion sections. It is a bit slow there lately, but the knowledge level of the community here is really high. We'd all like to help you succeed!
