that if a geckos doesnt glitter, isnt gold, isnt bling bling, have racing stripes or whatever, no one respondes to the post. I mean a few do but not many.

hey you know what we all started somehwere and it ticks me off people not appreciating the wild types or more normal looking geckos... post a blic of a blazing or a mack snow and you get pages of the same thing "wow", "awesome" "i want one!!" but when someone posts a pic of a somewhat normal apprearing gecko hardley anyone replies.

the more normal looking babies just took as much to hatch as the bling blings babies. And our newer breeders should be congratulated and given props on their wonderful achievments, babies and the willingness to share them with us...
same deal with hets... somoene could have a het bell, tremper,rw,mack snow, het stripe, het patty, het blizzard all rolled up into one but it being a nomral looking leo would bring minimal posts...
its time to give appreciation to everyone no matter how big or small of a breeders, no matter what moreph...

they are all leopard geckos and why cant we see the beauty in them all?

just my personal observation

** note to readers: too many typos to correct but i think you guys can figure them out **

well Robin..

I for 1 think that all leopard geckos are cool looking. The different colors dont affect each and everyones own personallity that they have. they are all unique in thier own way. And anyone that has any of those "normal" leos that doesnt want them...they can go ahead and send them over to me!@!!!

Well to be honest, its human nature........

If people see enough of the normal or wild type specimens, they are no longer impressed with them and generally look to new things....

Those "wild" type geckos are highly desirable by me :) so please everyone continue posting them. As far as responding to all the post well, I try to comment on every post I have time to and I agree with you Robin that every gecko counts! Those non "bling bling" geckos are where everything starts! I have always looked at the normal looking geckos as a blank canvas. And although, they might not get all the "bling" or accolades I certainly appreciate them being posted and the amount of effort and TLC it requires to produce them.

Why respond to something I see each and every day. If you want to grasp my interest, post something different.

I agree. I love showing off my leos even though they aren't major "bling bling"(well they are to me):).

I would not read more into than what is really there, Robin. It is just human nature......

Hey look... a car. Hey look... a car wreck. People just tend to take notice of what they do not see everyday. Kinda like Giant Midgets.

first of all we do not see nearly as many "wild types" as we do the "bling bling" geckos. They just arent as many as there used to be

but do you have the respect to appreciate others hard work and endevous even though it's not "bling"

ummmm something about midgets make me uneasy (no offence to little people) but i have never seen a giant midget... i do not know if i would want to

I love all leos and try to let the posters know that I like their babies as much as I can, they all take time to work with and care to hatch, regardles of the looks of the leo its still an accomplishment.

Great post Robin . .

My favorite leos, besides Bells of course, :raspberry are the EXTRA spotty ones! I think they are just beautiful! And I agree, we should certainly give props to those that have had success with breeding and hatching, no matter what morph it is. My oldest leo is a normal girl and I think she is the prettiest gecko I have. She has been with me for many years now and no Sunglow, Super-Hypo, Mack, Carrot-Tail, what-have-you could ever take her place. :) Nicole

Lol, I was just being a smart ass, Robin. WE are the giant midgets, lol.

I comment on geckos that I am impressed by, whether they be tang, Mack, albino, normal or whatever color or pattern. I am not going to comment on something that I am not interested in or does not impress me all that much. I personally don't have time to comment on every pic posted on the forum. And if I commented on pics that did not impress me or that I was not particularly moved by, well, yeah maybe it would be polite but it would also be a little fake!

I like all leopard geckos, no matter the morph though! They are all equally cool and lovely.

Agreed Robin..... Although it is not much work to actually breed leos, it is a job in its self to maintain breeders and hatchlings..... Especially when there is alot of them..... LOL..... Any successful captive breeding is a huge step in the right direction...... Even if the animals being produced are not so "BLING BLING"...... I love my SHTCTBs but I love my normals just the same.....

Hey I bet that not so far in the future, wild type leos will be worth more than alot of the color and co-dom/recessive morphs.....

I love regulars and I totally agree with the poster before me I comment on what IM IMPRESSED WITH (SORRY CAPS) I am not being fake in any post because if its not true Im not gonna say it. My Leo is a regular and I think hes the best thing little thing with 4 legs and a fat tail :>off_to<: samwe thing with ball pythons I have 4 regular ball pythons and I can tell them all appart and I always want more. no one understands:>off_to<:

what about your het leshock? i mean its normal... ok its a het... if it was anything other than a "possible" new form of albinism no one would really give a rats tookus

Well, first off, I would have never purchased him if he wasn't a het. Leshock. Sure, I have a few normals in my collection, including males, but I don't post pics of them. I figure everyone's seen it already. I personally don't care if anyone gives a hoot or not, it's what the gecko means to me. If I do feel others might be interested, I post. If know one responds, nor cares, it really doesn't matter, does it?
