In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My significant other brought the first snake into the house even though he was terrified of it.

He became accustomed to the reptiles but now he is jealous because I love them more than him.

I love dirt more than him, though.......

Reptiles are forever, love dies.

Bummer. :unhappy: I couldn't stay if I didn't love any more. It will make you, um....Psycho. :) It holds you back, and keeps you from bettering yourself, and getting to your full potential. Just my $0.025

Ciao,
Rick

Did you read my custom user title? LOL

I was crazy, now I'm getting better. Honesty is a big part of dealing with life. As the truth comes to light the solution becomes more apparent.

Things are the way they are right now. Choices have to be made by both parties for the good of everyone because neither of us has the right to destroy the kids security over our stupidity. It'll take time, but it will get better. I guess I was rather harsh and I shouldn't have been. He is a good person, just the wrong person.

Tip for the day: Never keep a job after your spouse/significant other becomes your boss. (I'm working on getting a different job.)

HOWEVER....I have met a lot of couples recently who are getting or already have reptiles. It seems that one usually has a passion for them and the other is tolerant. It would be wonderful to have someone to truly share the passion with.

differing opinion

luckily my Wife enjoys my snake and encourages me to get another when the finances and time constaints are right.

but I have been with my Wife (Kris) for almost 12 years known her for almost 20 I can't see my life with out Kris, she is my grounding line and my life line, if the choice was given, and thank god it never would be, to choose between my wife and my snake, it would be Kris winning with out a thought needed, further than finding Olak (my BP) a new home

but on the other note any other person could just go SH*T in their hat.

My husband actually bought me my first rep, a corn snake. As I was choosing the one I wanted one of the others decided that he really liked him and would not go back in the cage. Needless to say we came home with two snakes that day. At the most recent (I should say only one) show in my area he said all the way there, no more reps this time. Well guess who bought the first rep at the show? Wasn't me!! I love that man!!

Here it is. My daughter likes to feed them, my wife likes to show them off,but I get to do all the work. Oh well, I love them all, even the wife and kid.

When I was in high school 10 yrs ago, I got the annoying nickname, "Iguana Girl" after appearing on the 6 o' clock news with my ig, who has been trained like a dog since he was 2. I didn't date much. I've been with the same guy for 8 yrs now, and have a daughter with him. I don't think he's a reptile nut like me, but he lets me get whatever I want and has his favorites. It works for me.

Thank goodness my Hubby "kind of" likes my snakes. LOL
I have had him for 23 years, and although he dosen't do any upkeep,
he will hold them. Best of all..............he buys them for me.
I bought him a baby Bp for his birthday in December, his first.
So far it seems to be mine, but then again I kind of knew that would
happen LOL
Our three year old is the other "true snake man" in the house. No
fear, but he doesn't want to feed yet. (I am glad, not ready for him
to feed either) But he loves his snake and he helps with "Daddy's"
He is the handler of Bp's, does beautifully.
He will not go near the Boas, or the Burm, he has labled them as
biters.
Smart kid, IMHO. He is always supervised, and is learning how
to properly care for the snakes. He just thinks it is fun.
I believe I may need a herp fund for him later in life LOL.
For now I am willing to share.
He has had his own Bp since he was two and 1/2.
The rest are Mommy's.

Im a girl, and I havent had a hard time finding a date with all my reptiles....(25 and counting). In the past I dated one guy that was as much as a freak about snakes as I am, and we are still friends and talk (he's in iraq right now). Two guys I dated I actually got involved in the hobby, one is somewhere attending zoo school and breeding balls somewhere. The other really liked the iguanas I had at the time and let them roam his house. Unfortunately, the greek god I am dating now has one drawback....he doesnt like reptiles. No matter how many gecko eggs I show him and how hard I get him to hold the oh so cute baby hognoses he just wont give. He swears he isnt scared of them but I dunno! He told me that if we move in together we will have to have my reptiles in another house....thats great by me, I will just live out in the "reptile house".....and have the eyelash vipers and the caiman I always wanted! ;)

You know, my ex girlfriend still complains about the $$ I spend on reptiles, and how many I have (3 geckos 1 crested 1 aft and 1 leo) even though 1. she does not live here 2. it's not her money, and 3. her and I will never have anything serious between us last for more than a few days.

and shes always complaining about everything that has to do with me, what makes matters really worse is that her and I have been on and off for the longest time so being with out her is hard as heck, but it's still something that I have to do for me

i got in to animals as a kid my mom worked for the state of illinois over the animal welfare shelters..i spent a lot of time vollentering my time at a few no kill shelters as well as regulars....and worked with volenteer rescue groups.
see in the day no one wanted to addopt reptiles and the shelters really had no calling for them so in stead of putting them down i took them home....when i met my wife she was teriffied of reptiles...now we have leos snakes turtles and beardys....lol

oh and by the way in my opinion there nothing sexier then a women wearing nothing but a 5 foot python.... :censored:

when my ex and i got serious i made the horrible mistake of getting rid of my reptiles for her . it wasnt that she was afraid of them i think it was more that she felt the money spent on them should be spent on her . well the ex has been gone for almost 8 years and i honestly didnt realize how much i missed my critters till about 5 months ago when i sort of unwillingly took in a bp rescue . well since then i am bitten again by the herp bug and plan to get more as funds permit . any woman that decides she wants to be with me now had better be willing to atleast tolerate my critters cause they aint going away again .

my wife gets like that when i buy a new leo...lol so i just buy her a new dragon with it....shes happy...lol

I personally don't care if she likes them or not. I had a woman that tolerated them that was fine..But basically I'm not giving up ANY of my pets period. It's a lifelong committment, their lives that is..You wouldn't ask me to give up my parents would you? I have a tarantula that could live another 20yrs..If some woman doesn't want me to have another pet, she can kiss my a** and keep walking.

amen :bolt01: my wife was scared to death of snakes but guess what i came home the other day and she had one out...lol she babys my girls more then i do now so if she can give it a chance any one could
