    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I couldnt imagine how many reptiles i would have if my wife liked reptiles as much as i do. My wife isnt scared of any of them and even had a bearded dragon once but she never really got into the hobby like me. Then there is the "MONEY" thing. She always has better ideas where to spend our money.
 
She has learned to admire their beauty and my passion for them but that's as far as her love for reptiles goes.

sounds like my wife she thinks there cool but any money i might make from the babys or money i spend on them could go to something else...it never does...tho....lol well most of the time... the way i c it is if im supplying electricity and water to the incubator for 2 or 3 months...well them im getting payed just like a babysitter...lol only diffrence is i sell babys and if you did that with humans it called human trafficing
....loll
 
My soon to be ex husband gave me the ultimatum at one point- him or the animals (I only had one snake at the time along with 2 dogs and 3 cats). I know have 12 snakes, the dogs, cats, rats, mice, a beardie, fire belly toad, anoles, and a savannah monitor. Boy did I make the right choice! Guy I am seeing now is not sure if he can handle the snakes, told him they are not going anywhere and if anything, more will be added so make your decision now, it's not like he didn't know I had them :NoNo:
 
the way i see it is its like dating with kids.....(yes there my children...lol) if you get with a guy or girl that say it me or the kidswho would you pic....easy choice anyone who pics them over there children...dont need children in the first place......and as far as pets well its a -friend & companion-and a member of the family if they cant deal with it then bye bye

Any significant other that makes you choose between them and your hobby, job, family, kids, or pets, is not worthy of your time, and most likely is not having YOUR best interest in mind. It is a purely selfish act, and not deserving of the effort it would take to make such a relationship successful.

Best to just buy them a bus ticket out of town, and keep searching. I've been there. The sadness, loneliness, or freedom, (however you choose to view it) certainly will not compare to the emptiness you will feel if you give up what the other is asking you to.

My husband gives me ultimatums all the time!! He hates all my animals for the most part...especially my daughters chihuahua :rolleyes: . Oh well, animals are my passion and that will never change. If he needs to go, he can go. He will be the one losing out in the end though cuz I am a heck of a catch :D !! LOL

tonya gave me one of those once.. that was when i first got in to the hobby....as you can tell she gave up....i have more now then i did then
 
age diffrence im not sure if ti would work as long as you got communication and a love for reptiles...well at least you got 1 out of 2 right off the bat!!!:)
 
I think anyone with Reptiles has a stigma attached. You just have to be lucky to find someone who cares more about you than the critters you keep. Then, it should work out... But then there are those that put up a front... But such is life, eh? :)

Care more for them than the critters?? Geeze, you don't ask for much do you? HA HA HA HA

Actually for me it would require someone to understand that there are 2 different kinds of love. I love my critters, they will always be a huge part of my life, just as they always have been. Doesn't mean I love a girlfriend any less, just differently.

Find me a woman who understands and accepts this from me, and I'll give it a go. ;)

Well, my comment was meant as a blanket statement for people who have issues with reptiles and the people who love them. It makes sense, doesn't it?

I absolutly agree with the two kinds of loves.. It is a hobby love, something one enjoys, something that satisfies like other things can't. Somewhat of an obsession, in my case.
Then there is relationship love that should satisfy all the demands that you as a person need from another person. :) Emotional, physical, spiritual, and so forth...

Different indeed. :)

Don't forget PASSION :) !!! Must have passion!! I would love to find someone who was passionate about me and my critters :D !!
 
LIKE I SAID BEFORE theres pets and loved ones i dont see the deffrence..all my reptiles are my kids..so ya i love them....if give option to have kids we would take it and see things diffrently ---meaning as hobby love.........perssonaly im as proud as an father or grandfather would be every time one of those little heads pop out of there eggs........alot of people dont get it i know you folks would...lol but most dont...like how i go run in to show my wife....the newly hatched babys......shes like oh...so she dont get it.....lol
