Since you say those are not your EXACT emails and pms, Why don't you copy and paste your version? Instead of wanting to do it in private, just get it out once and for all.

Not knowing either one of these guys, I would NOT like someone who ask for something (pic) to post the pm on the exisitng add. Being careful is one thing, walking away is one thing, but it is very hard to believe the "buyer" didn't have other motives when posting the pms on the add.

If the pics and anyting else came back to show the OP was lying, then posting the info would be ok IMO

I'm curious why the PMs were not responded to with PMs in return? I can only guess that there was some underlying motive why additional effort was made to cut and paste into the ad itself rather than simply reply via PM. I can understand how a relatively new seller without much of a reputation here on Fauna may get upset by seeing this kind of response on his ad which may be construed as a suggestion that the seller was not legitimate. While it may seem suspect that the seller couldn't post additional pics on the ad itself, and could only text them; that in itself is not proof of wrong doing or ill intent. As it has turned out, the camera which was available to the seller at one time was now in the hands of someone else.

If a seller is unable or unwilling to provide photos or other proof in a manner which I find satisfactory, I simply say no thanks and move on. No need to take any further action which the seller might find antagonistic.

On the other hand, if I was the seller and someone posted something questionable on my ad, in a polite and civil manner, I would ask them why they were posting to my ads, ask them to please refrain from additional posts in the future, sorry we couldn't do business, and move on. I definitely would not have posted a bad guy thread to retaliate or threatened the owner of this site with a frivolous lawsuit.

I don't know Ritchie or Zachery personally, but I tend think that both men are probably very reasonable, decent guys that just got caught up in a situation that could have ended very amicably, but continued to escalate to the point where some tempers flared and retaliation ensued. At the end, this mole hill became Mount Everest because no one would just walk away.

There is something VERY important I forgot to mention. This whole thing could have perhaps been avoided if he was just truthful and used his IPHONE to post pics.

After all he uses it to surf other forums and load his pictures onto other forums.

I know I am new, but if someone asked me to show pictures I would, and I also do. With all my adds, to me that is respect to the forum. And helps me sell my reptiles. Honestly. This is just how I like to do business, but I guess other people are different.

I feel the need to post.
Ritchie has been around here for a long time, and has proven he is a stand up guy. His inquiry was not a personal attack. Many times he has exposed both good and bad guys here on the BOI.
I recall the infamous Jesse Underhill.
I think his nickname, "the ferret" is suitable, but the "ferreting pitbull" may be more accurate.

I have the same issue with pictures. I do most of my posting via phone, so it's a huge hassle trying to post pictures through a forum. When I post an ad I typically use a normal camera and borrow a laptop to upload/post everything. But when someone requires additional pics, I have to email or text them; otherwise I'd have to borrow a computer every time someone asked for something.

That being said, I'd be annoyed - although not nearly as much as this seller - if someone took the "initiative" to post my PM's in my ad. If you have a problem with the pictures being emailed to you, that is one thing, but it's completely different to drag that into the ad itself.

Personally, I feel both parties are out of line on this one. The PM's should have been responded to privately and the seller should not have blown the act out of proportion.

If someone tells me something, be it written or spoken, and then, after telling me that thing, tells me I have to keep it secret, that person has made a large mistake. Neither I nor anyone is obligated to keep secret or private anything that has not been granted that privacy prior to the information being passed.

A PM, or private message, is something that is not public which is a far cry from something you're not supposed to tell.

I think a LOT of you are missing that very key point.

Ritchie NEVER said he'd keep private anything zack told him. Since he never would, and zack only ASSumed he would, why is anyone but zack on the hot seat here?

i told him i would take them on my phone and send them to his i have no way to connect my phone to the computer. i am sorry. i offered to take fresh pictures or any picture he wanted i just dont have a way to put them on the computer at this moment maybe i can find a way in the next few days.

You can have an iPhone without a contract (for internet), thus not able to use apps that use internet. But I'm not sure how you can text pictures without having a contract...

One thing I'd like to say is threatening to sue someone makes you look like a HUGE idiot. I work for a mortgage company and I hear that all day and it's usually over something out of our control, such as their taxes went up, we have no control over their taxes, yet they're going to sue us. You just sound like you think you're all big and bad and really going to scare someone.

I'm in a lawsuit with an insurance company right now, but I never called them crying saying if I didn't get my way I'd get a lawyer cause I knew it wouldn't scare them, nor would they care. Insurance works a little differently than some other situations since you're ususally settling a claim and a lot of people get lawyers to do it for them, but I finally got frustrated with them and called a lawyer, didn't tell them I was doing it, just let my lawyer inform them. That way I don't sound stupid and my lawyer can deal with their crap.

To go after Webslave is just a stupid move. Kindly except that your request is being denied and move on, don't start threatening cause you didn't get your way. Do you feel good about yourself? Feel like a big man for calling him a liar and threatening him? Got you real far didn't it?
