• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Just to say, I agree crazysnakelady is a legit somebody, but may have a closer association with boaholic than they let on. She seemed very intent on defending him.

Open the forum up in one browser (we'll use FireFox for example account #1), minimize it... open up the forum in another browser (Explorer for the second example account) and bam! You've got two different accounts on two different browsers. The browsers don't share info with each other, so you're not confusing them when you log into two different accounts.
If you tried to log in on two different accounts on the same browser, one would be logged out.You don't have to be a computer dork to figure this one out.

If you wanted to be real sneaky, you could use proxies and IP changers to switch up your game. Or if you have multiple computers in the household, you can log into different accounts on each computer. There are a couple of ways to log in with two different accounts and play it off as different people. Most of the time though, people who try these methods end up losing track of their lies, or run out of ways to make each account/personality unique and things start to blur and look fishy... Then they slip up and access with the wrong IP that another account has accessed with and with admins (sometimes mods, not sure if the mods here have that kind of power or now) having the ability to see the different accounts that have accessed those particular IPs (again, not sure how this particular board checks in on info like this.. just going off my experiences on other forums) they usually check for these types of things and lay the banhammer on the multiuser accounts.

Please save from posting "how to scam lessons", that's exactly what we don't want. We already endure to many scammers don't make it easier for "start-up" scammers... remember most of them are not that bright!

That isn't a "how to scam" lesson, or that was not my intention. If one can learn to scam from it, another can learn to protect themselves from it. (and he already knows how to do this apparently)

Those that don't know how easy it is for people to pose as multiple people on the net generally fall prey to simple scamming methods. A user could boost his BOI responses fairly quickly, and someone could fall prey before someone higher up gets a sniff and gives them to boot (Not sure if this has ever happened, just giving an example here.)

I'm just speaking from experience with working as a middle-man for online gaming transactions. I middle-manned to prevent people from being able to scam others and the more open we were with scamming methods, the smarter the general community became and we started seeing less successful scams and started catching more scammers in the act. Of course, most of this is all via web-to-web communication and in this forum mods designed to monitor for previously banned members/IPs, multiple accounts, and account sharing are given free reign to ban any who fall into the above. I don't know how aggressive Fauna is with these situations.

If the mods would druther that post be censored, then I totally don't mind. I can't exactly go back and change it myself.

And they cant go back and chage it either. Just a thought to consider... If I wanted to tell how to do it.. .I would have in my post above yours. Its been proven here time after time that the people set on scamming folks are not that bright... and you just made them smarter. Thanks for making our job harder.

Quite frankly... there really isn't any way to protect ourselves from this... unless we get lucky and use one of our other tactics to ferret out scammers and then confirm.

Our mods job is not to check every member that posts against known bad guys. They are here to keep the peace.
 
He openly admits on craigslist in kansas city that oh these are not my snakes but it is exactly what they look like. lol Why can't someone take pics of the snake they have ?? Makes it kinda sound fishy to me............ :)

at least my pictures the animals in my pictures on my ads dont have ribs and hip bones showing or dirty cages like your ads on craigslist
