In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I don't bite..... HARD!!!
If your photos are coming out grainey... its TOO HIGH. Other than that... there is no set level.
Since Im a Nikon guy.... I'll use this example.
On my Nikon D80 I rarely got over ISO 1000, but with the Nikon D3 you could push the highest ISO and get away with it. Higher end cameras have higher end chips that can handle the high ISO. Lower end cameras (like point and shoots) have chips that arent capable of handling the really high ISO settings without noise. (grainy look)

Those photos make me wish I had my camera this weekend when we went for our hike... we came upon a 5 foot diamond back and he didn't move... just sat there staring at us .. would have been a perfect opportunity to practice some photography

And just for the record (no offense to anyone, please) ... I'm not posting for any competition. I just take lots of photos. And generally I'm the only one who sees them, so it's nice to be able just to share. I ain't a competitor. I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam

I totally agree with you Laura, i love taking photos, and i know i'm no expert, but i just enjoy what can come out of it
