• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Photo Competition

If your photos are coming out grainey... its TOO HIGH. Other than that... there is no set level.

Since Im a Nikon guy.... I'll use this example.

On my Nikon D80 I rarely got over ISO 1000, but with the Nikon D3 you could push the highest ISO and get away with it. Higher end cameras have higher end chips that can handle the high ISO. Lower end cameras (like point and shoots) have chips that arent capable of handling the really high ISO settings without noise. (grainy look)

Those photos make me wish I had my camera this weekend when we went for our hike... we came upon a 5 foot diamond back and he didn't move... just sat there staring at us .. would have been a perfect opportunity to practice some photography :)

Kevin... you're pictures blow me away.... they are awesome!

Here is an interesting picture taken in my home... this is a mirror hanging on my wall.... keep in mind that there is no color visible when looking at it but with a flash.. this is the result :)

That's so awesome... My animal guide is also the wolf and my Native American name is "Wolf Star"... One of my best buddies in the whole wide world is a Navajo Medicine Man :)

Wow! I am totally impressed by what I've seen! Everybody is really talented - and there's nothing I like better than animals and nature photos!

Here are some of my carnivores. (The labeled shots were not labeled for this thread but for something else a couple years ago)

Oh, the smiling snake definitely takes the cake and a couple cupcakes, too, I definitely agree! As do many others here, for so many different reasons. (and thank you, Steve)

And just for the record (no offense to anyone, please) ... I'm not posting for any competition. I just take lots of photos. And generally I'm the only one who sees them, so it's nice to be able just to share. I ain't a competitor. I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam :)
