In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Quick Question... To all You Experts

i work at the zoo and we have a green tree python in with 6 dart frogs and they have not had any problems yet.. i just wanted to know if this could be duplicated at home

The zoo should know better. Green Trees and dart frogs aren't even from the same continent.
Regardless in order to keep both together the environmental needs of each will have to be compromised to an extent. In the end it will be the frogs that suffer most. They are a delicate group of animals and should be housed in a dedicated enclosure. Environmental concerns aside, the activity of another large animal in such close proximity to them will undoubtedly be stressful.
Just because two completely different species from entirely different continents occupy similar habitats does not mean they can or should be housed together in captivity.

:iagree::iagree::iagree:

I could not have said it any better myself.

Clay is absolutely right - that zoo should know better than that.
Some people will say "Oh, I've mixed species in tanks before and never saw any problems". Well, with dart frogs, you can't always tell if there's a problem until you start finding them dead in the tank. And that zoo cannot possibly recreate the correct enviornment for both the dart frogs and the snake in the same tank, therefore one or both species will not thrive. And even if there's no chance of that snake eating any of the frogs, I'm sure the snake being in there is extremely stressful to them.
Also, since they are keeping darts with a snake, I'm sure it's not just one type of dart frog in there, which is also a big no no. It's a bad idea to keep different dart frogs together, even if they are the same species but different morphs. For example, you shouldn't keep blue D. auratus with green D. auratus. Why? Because they can interbreed and produce hybrids, and we are trying to retain the integrity and purity of the species.

Short answer: Please do not mix dart frogs with different species or morphs of other dart frogs, and definatly do not mix dart frogs with any other animal.
The only "benefit" of doing something like that is your own personal viewing pleasure.
Please think of the animals, and what's best for them.
In the case of dart frogs, what's best for them is to keep them with their own species and morph.

I have seen a number of zoo's and one aquarium who house dart frogs and green tree pythons together....

Not saying its right, but apparently its a fairly common idea and must work to some extent.
