In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It's going to be hard building up your business, when everyone knows what you have done. Word spreads quickly through the ball python community and it will be hard for you to sell anything for a long time. You might want to just cut your losses and move on to something else. Just my piece of advice

[sarcasm]Yeah....if the road ahead is challenging and character-building....better bail now! :ack2: [/sarcasm]

WOW

Two things:

First, it takes guts and courage and character too to say your wrong and that your sorry. I think that's a good start.

Second, I'm so impressed with the folks here and their detective skills. You folks are tuned!

All i want to say is I am glad some people finally came forth with some info on this guy and I am overall shocked on what was all dug up and put into the light. I could see how the pastels went without being noticed as far as the kinks, even more so if he didn't have them in his possession...even though he says he hatched them. I just wanted to post and say THANK YOU to the fauna family for outing this guy and allowing me to add another name to my list of 'do not buy from' members. No matter how many times he says sorry...posting an animal that belongs to someone else and using THEIR ads and upping the price 500 bucks is beyond wrong and anyone with any sort of common sense good morals would know this. Once again everyone that did the digging...THANK YOU!!!!

Just so you know, since it's that was my first post that I am who I say I am and just think that he deserves at least a tiny bit of encouragement to do better.

That doesn't mean that I'd trust him for quiet some time, if ever, probably never. But I have seen people change after something like this. Time will tell...

Because I've been wrong too I really admire the work that was done here. You folks are scary in a really good way. I appreciate it, thanks.

I guess, but I've seen it more times than otherwise here - someone's shady practices brought to light, immediately "oh sorry I'll never do it again let's move on!" Of course they want everyone to move on. Right to the next shady business deal and BOI post.

I'm not saying genefreak can never sell animals again, but they might want to take a little break. Flipping animals you don't own is a terrible way to start a business. What is this, snake futures?

I'm waiting for an update too.:shrug01:

As am I.. Which I find a bit unnerving, because that pied that he had originally paid for went up for sale quite some time ago..

He said that he sent John the money back before he put that snake back up for sale (notice he did it on KS, and not HERE, probably hoping no one would notice).. but IMO.. if John has not yet received that money.. then that snake is his.. and should NOT be going back up for sale until he has gotten HIS money back!!!

And last I checked, it only takes 3 days to go from bank acct. to the paypal.. so.. um.. where is Johns money?

I do hope you have received it by now John, and have just been too busy to hop on here..

New or not.. this kid has NO clue how to do this, and claims to be trying to learn from his mistakes.. yet here we are.. wondering if someone got their money back for a snake that has possibly already been re-sold.

:censored:, I sold some snakes last week, and still have not pulled that money from my paypal, JUST IN CASE there is any issue on the buyers end.
I am sooooo sick of all of these people that yank the money the second it hits their paypal acct. Because when something wrong DOES happen.. what do we hear "oh, I don't have any money.. blah blah blah" even if it has only been 1 or 2 days.. IMO, a good seller will retain that money until they KNOW that the customer has received the healthy, happy animal that they ordered..

grrrrrrrrrr.. 'nuf said. LOL

:iagree:

I can't agree with this more Brandi. There is NO reason the money should ever leave your Paypal/bank account until the buyer has received their animal and is happy with it. I don't understand why people don't get that... It should be common sense :shrug01:

What scares me is HAD John received his refund he would have posted by now... makes me think someone spent the milk money. I agree 100% with April and Abby... don't spend your customers money till its YOURS I personally give a 7 day health guarantee for that reason alone, after the 7 day guarantee is up and you have no complaints I will let you know your money is being spent! I mean who in their right mind yanks funds and spends them before their customer is happy?

But common sense aint that common

Lol @Kevin.... all too true brother, all too true! I ment Brandi btw not April.. my mistake

I don't know when I'll ever learn to stop having faith that people will want to do the right thing. Hoping just doesn't make it so does it... I'm sorry I gave that kid any encouragement.

If you stopped along the way and gave encouragement, you did the right thing. When we help others, we are not responsible if they don't accept our help and do right. Don't change.

I've never quite understood why people get into animals with the idea of making money rather than to have fun, enjoy the critters and meet other enthusiasts... there's a ton of other things that are more profitable and don't involve living creatures. Heck I'd bet any min wage job would probably be more lucrative or less work in the long run. Even the scammers who make off with 1000s end up spending all their time on the run and dodging people.
Seems like the fundamental problem in these sorts of deals is people who focus on short term $$ more than anything else.

Hope shlages has gotten their money back and are just held up from posting... seems odd tho, if that were the case you'd think Genefreak woulda said something...

The part I have bolded I guarantee. I shelled out in the five figures last year towards my business. That is 5 figures I could have spent on ME or doing something else.

If your not into reptiles for the love of the reptile... then your in it for the wrong reasons. Money can be made... but its not easy or cheap.

I refunded his money on 08/27 and the transaction was completed on 08/30.... Dont know why he has not been on here and told you guys but I am posting a screen shot of my paypal account to prove that the money has been refunded to him for a week. I never spent that money I just do not keep a lot of money in my paypal account. As soon as he said he wanted a refund I transfered it from my bank back to my paypal, which took a few days, then as soon as it was back in my paypal I sent him his refund. Maybe he can come here and say something!
