    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I thought I would never have to make this post but enough is enough....

June 22nd 2009 -Purchased a animal from Tim of Special K Reptiles labeled "07 Het Yellow Ghost Female for $275

September 21st 2009 - The animal went off food so I threw a male in and they started combating. Pulled the animal out sexed it it was a male.

October 3rd 2009- contacted Tim at the local Repticon Charlotte show. His answer was it has been too long I should have sexed the animal when I got it. Ok sure I should have. He agreed to give me $275 credit. I wasn't happy about it but I was willing to work with the guy. I took the het ghost male to his table his response was "I dont want that". Then tried to work out a deal at the end of the show to end this deal. Offered to work it out on a mojave female priced at $325. He offered to do it if I would pay the $50 difference. I delined and decided we could settle it another time.

December 20th - I emailed Tim on a piar of acrylic displays advertised on kingsnake which simply asked if they were in good condition. He replied almost instantly and said yes they were. I let him know who I was and that I would like to settle our deal and pay the difference. The were listed at $550. I asked him to bring them to the Charlotte Repticon show Jan 7 2010. Never heard back from him.

January 7 2010- Asked Tim about the e-mails at the Repticon show ,Claims he never got them. No big deal.

Asked Tim if we could settle our deal it's been going on too long. Inquired about a Enchi male on the table for $275. He reply's to me he never offered me $275 credit that he was willing to give me $125 credit because I could have sold the het ghost male for $150 at the time. The het ghost male I never intended to purchase. The het ghost male that was worth $150 at the time that he simply said "I dont want that" when it was returned to him. I told him I sold the animal for $30 I was was willing to knock $30 of the $275 credit. He said "no way". We had some choice words and I was on my way.

I have listed all the facts no sugar coating on this one. Should I have sexed the animal? sure, but I thought I was buying a well represented animal. I can only say I have discussed this issue with 25 -30 different extensive breeders it all comes down to he sold a animal that wasn't what it was supposed to be it should be a full refund.

All in all. This guy will sell you an animal. May be healthy , May be a great price BUT if there is a problem don't expect him to take care of it.


This issue apparently will never be resolved so I am out of my money and a snake.

What were the "choice" words you are remembering as all that was heard from you was when you were two tables away when you were MFing him & threatening to do bodily harm to him at During theTinley Park show?

Im curious to as to the above statement as well , cause i have delt with Tim for many years and i have always gotten the properly sexed and healthy animals from him and i own/have owned quite a few of his boas and ball pythons and they were always exactly what they were supposed to be ..
I have even gone as far to buy an animal from him sight unseen , just off of his description of the animal and it was correct and just as he described .
 
Very unfortunate.. I'd agree.. He owes you full refund if all is true.. The cursing and threats is to be expected when you "toy" with peoples livelihoods.. Some ain't so nice about it.. Send him a heads up on your post if not done already.. Always check sexes and health immediately; even if you have to pay for the peace of mind..

well if whats been said is true by Rainbowboaman then it was the OP that was the one with the foul mouth and threats .

and to the OP i have bought animals from shows before and was told what the sex was and later on down the road ( no ones fault but my own) it turned out to be not the sex it was supposed to be . and i didnt blame anyone but myself cause i should have checked right away .

if you didnt check right away and you waited any long period of time i would say in the end its your problem for not checking and waiting so long ..JMO

All you guys go by PAST experience and DOUBT the OP. I to have bought many animals from Tim, that said, I had one die and he did make it right, BUT, this is a new and different situation. I'd tell you one thing, if I had waited and been put off that long then face to face was told what the OP was told there would have been an a$$whooping. Sorry folks, but not everyone will treat people kind and sugarcoat everything when they feel or are getting taken. For all the want to be and Pros alike, take note. Not all customers act professionally either.

So all of the sudden everyone knows how to check sex of an animal? What if you dont know how to check sex? Im not saying he didnt but you should be able to trust a breeder to give you what is advertised or make it right if its not.
 
I've heard enough about Tim on the BOI & from other people to never want to do business with him. I mean....its not like he has anything special.....you can get the same Boas/Balls he has from 50 other sources.....why bother with a potential headache?

Another added to my DNBF list.

Yes. Animal sex should be guaranteed for life the same as genetics. It is or is not what the seller claims, no "statute of limitations".

You can have the breeder check right in front of you. Pro Exotics did that for me this weekend without me asking.


I would love to hear Tim's side of this. He's always friendly every time I see him. We just bought another snake from him at Tinley this past weekend. I'd also like to see some proof from the op.
 
This was posted in the as well with no proof to support the claim. Hopefully today emails can be provided. If all is true, I feel three months is too long to verify sex if you know how to do it. Although, If Tim did agree to give the credit and failed to honor his word then this thread is deserved. To the OP, losing your composure and not being professional certainly doesn't help your case at all. You can still get results while acting like a reasonable person, maybe not immediately, but in the long run.

Or you can have someone else do it for you if that person doesn't know how. There isn't a show that I attend that I don't have someone asking me to sex a snake for them.

If your looking for e-mails the only e-mails that were sent was in Jan over the Dispalys cases. Everything else was face to face. Yes I sure did have some choice words with Tim. IF your going to take my money sell me a missexed animal ,jerk me around for a year and then tell me your not going to do what you said you were then yes I was pissed. I told him he was an asshole and tried to walk away because It was getting ugly very fast. I then turned and told him "if you weren't so old I would whoop your ass". Plain and simple. If someone comes up and takes $275 from me I would do the same. I work hard for my money and where I come from a man is only as good as his word. SO if any of you think that its ok for someone to sell a misexed animal and not make it right after you said you would then it
's just as sad as I thought. Should I have said what I said to Tim. Probably not. Tim if you read this "I apologize" BUT it still doesn't exclude the fact you know what our deal was and you didn't hold your end up.
