In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

To Whom It May Concern,

I am new to "Bearded Dragons" but not new to reptiles in general; My 1st experience with Diamond Den will be my last experience and I find their business practices to the lack the integrity I had hoped for...

Do you have more to add to this? What happened, what was the result? This is kind of a broad statement to be making about someone if we don't know what happened.

Charles, since you've chosen to start this Bad Guy thread, please list the details as to why. Any e-mails between the two of you will be most helpful.

LMAO, i'll list everything that was said for you, This guy contacted me this morning wanting to buy a dragons for $300 shipped. I had messaged him back telling him that he was still available and that i had someone else interested so it would be who ever paid first got him. I do not normally hold a dragon as i have allot of people contact me saying they will send payment and dont so whoever send it first get that animal unless i have dealt with them before. im just going to copy and paste the Pms.

Him,

Hello:

Is this male still available would you take $300 for him? Very interested... What is his lineage

Me,

Hey,

Witch male are you talking about if it's the red trans leather poss het hypo, Yes he is still available i just had someone contact me via email about him for the same price but to Florida so who ever paid for him first would get him, he is from a red translucent Italian leather poss het hypo Phantom Dragon lines x a Red 100% het trans leather from dachiu poss het hypo. If you want him you can send payment to sales@diamonddenreptiles via paypal and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Me Again Letting Him no This Dragons Sold,

Hey just wanted to let you know that this male is now sold, Thanks for your time. And let me know if there's anything else i can do for you.

Him,

Wow! I sent a text saying that I wanted it yesterday, and even responded to the ad on Kingsnake.com; I thought maybe you the seller would at least give the opportunity ... Very disappointed not good service.

Me,

Corky told you in the first place there was someone else interested in him so first to send payment got him, Why that is bad service i dont understand he made you aware that someone else was trying to buy him who contacted before you, and the only text i have from you is at 5 Am here, and he told you that the dragon was sold.

Sorry if you feel there is something wrong with our service but who ever sends payment first is who gets the dragon, we have had to many people say they would send payment and never send it to deny someone a sale without being paid.

best of luck and happy new year.

Him,

No, that is fine, it's a valuable learning lesson for me. I am new to the "Dragon world" but not to reptiles and business. I am just very disappointed but now awared.

Thank you,

If you would like me to take screen shot's i can I never Received a email from kingsnake and he messaged me at 5am this morning and text then to i pm'd him back saying that someone else was interested and who ever paid first got him as stated above and once i messaged back 20 mins later about the dragon he wanted being sold he got upset.

like i said let me know if you want the screen shots.

No problem. My issue is very simple I was told it was available on this site then only to receive a response to the post that it wasn't. I called just to confirm. Spoke with Diamond Den and told that the same dragon is available (discussion approx. 5 mins); Informed them that I would be sending the money. Received a call back later on stated that someone else bought the dragon.

In retrospect I inquired on www.Kingsnake.com where this particular dragon was also (previously) advertised.

I find the customer services per say to be questionable. Example: If you see a car for sale, you talk to the salesperson that tells you it's available, you tell them that you're going to the bank to the get the money and you'll be back in 5 mins; Only to be told it was sold....

Charles, I'm not sure why you find this to be a problem. I also do NOT hold any animal without a non-refundable deposit, at least (and certain animals may even require payment in full). This is standard business practice for MANY people in this business. So many folks say, "I want such and such animal", only to never be heard from again. I've also seen people do what you wanted and then miss out on an actual sale because they turned down someone with cash in hand.

That being said, you were WAY too fast to jump the gun and make a Bad Guy thread against Diamond Den. They did nothing wrong, but I can assure you that you just made several people's list of who NOT to do business with.

Loads of folks say "I really want it" so it's hard to say a seller should hold an animal, especially when they said outright it's "first to pay".

I'm certain the actual details of exactly how much time and exactly what was said might tip the situation slightly one way or the other.

If the potential buyer said "I'm sending money now" before the other buyer did.. well he kind of has a case to be annoyed he missed out.

If the potential buyer waited and was going to send money, then he missed out, too bad.

It's hard sometimes when there's an animal you want at a price you like and you miss out. That doesn't always mean that it's "poor business practices" that you didn't get it.

So because they wouldn't hold it for you without a deposit, they get a bad guy thread? That's asinine. That's the risk you take when you don't have the money in hand to buy an animal, without making a deposit on it at least.

You've thoroughly jumped the gun on making this thread. In my opinion it should have been and information thread, not a bad guy thread.

Thank you Matthew I didn't think i was in the wrong. he just text me trying to drop everything now after starting a thread that cant be deleted and should of never been started.

Well I pm'd, text, emailed and had a verbal conversation and told DD I was sending the money via PP within 10 mins. sold! Never had a chance...

LOL... DD You forgot that fast that I told you I was sending you the money at least $175 for a deposit which you told me was non refundable. I even offered to pay the whole thing today if that wasn't enough and you said that was okay. Let's be honest here...

Sometimes it just happens that way. There were two parties interested, both were told that the first to pay gets the dragon, and the other guy won. I'm sorry that it happened so fast and you feel like you never had a chance, but that's just how it works sometimes.

From my understanding of the situation, the other guy had inquired before you did so technically he was there first.

For every actual sale, breeders get dozens of emails about each animal and several of those inquiries are "promises" to buy. You can't weed out who is serious and who is not if you have not worked with them before. I wish you luck!

OMG you said that to jammie after the dragon had sold. She didn't know it was sold she asked you if the ad said if it was sold or not and you said it was still available when IT WAS MARKED SOLD!!!! I will do a screen shot of the message when i said it was sold it was like 6am LMAO

Just some advice for the future ; keep better record of what is sold and what is still up for sale. When talking to you about this dragon I was under the impression that he was still available . I was even ready to make a payment on him and once again even asked you if half of what you are asking would suffice to hold him otherwise I would send you a full payment.

LOL... DD You forgot that fast that I told you I was sending you the money at least $175 for a deposit which you told me was non refundable. I even offered to pay the whole thing today if that wasn't enough and you said that was okay. Let's be honest here...

If you told him, but never actually did it, what's the problem?? :censored: happens. Move on! I've contacted many sellers about an animal that I wanted, and I didn't waste time asking if they'd take "x amount". Despite being ready to pay in full (their asking price), I was beat to it by someone else. With as many available animals out there, I think you'll be ok....except for the fact that you're digging yourself a deeper hole.

Screen Shot's

hey everyone here's the screen shots so you can see the times and messages. 20 mins after i contacted him i sent another message saying this dragon was sold. He could have called me and got the dragon right then and there but he chose to pm and text witch is a slow process. He didn't call till after i said the dragon was sold.

Also once again as it's shown in the pm screen shot's I told you it was sold hours before you called and spoke to Jammie, She was asleep when it was sold and woke up to your phone call's and i was not around so she asked you to check the ad and see if it says sold and you said it didn't witch it did and in your pm i said it was sold, So you lied to her, and in return she thought the dragon was still available.

From everything shown here, Diamond Den has been extremely professional...FAR moreso than I would have been, had you called me at 0600 on New Year's Day!!!!!

This is standard business practice for MANY people in this business. So many folks say, "I want such and such animal", only to never be heard from again.
Agreed Matt, This occurrence is very common and one should never expect that an animal is 'theirs' until the seller has sent a "received payment" notification. To expect a seller to hold an animal for any period of time without payment is expecting way too much.

That being said, you were WAY too fast to jump the gun and make a Bad Guy thread against Diamond Den. They did nothing wrong, but I can assure you that you just made several people's list of who NOT to do business with.
Diamond Den did exactly what a responsible seller would do:informed buyer of the situation and it looks like buyer was second in line "someone else was trying to buy him who contacted before you", it sucks you lost out on the animal but this 'Negative' thread reflects more on you than the seller.
An apology to Diamond Den is in order, IMHO.
