You really are having a hard time at following this entire conversation, as each one of your replies here indicates. I didn't know it had mites when I bought it. This facebook convo occurred after I got home with the snake.
Second off, the vet I took it to this morning told me that it is more than likely protozoa or worms based on the very small size of the bowel movement that caused this prolapse. So no, these aren't just my thoughts- they are of a licensed reptile veterinarian- thanks for asking.
As far as keeping the animal, yes I am certainly going to keep it because it obviously was under poor care and management prior to my ownership. Had the snake been properly cared for by the breeder, it wouldn't have had any of these problems to begin with, hence this BOI posting.
Would I go back and buy the snake again had I known the extent of its problems? No, of course not. Should that snake have even been brought to a reptile expo by a breeder to sell? No, of course not. I am glad that I am going to be able to take care of a poorly treated snake? Yes. Should other people be warned about this guy and take their business elsewhere? Definitely.
