In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. I have a banana kingsnake, and he is not very old. I bought him from a guy who couldn't take care of him anymore. He has bitten me 3 times in the last 2 weeks and im not exactly sure what is prompting him to do this. He did have a scratch on his back when i bought him, because apparently the guy that owned him was trying to remove mites from him and he got partially down the sink and he cut his back pulling him out was what I was told. Any ideas or input on what it might be please get back to me. also anything else that might be helpful to know, just ask away.

by not very old, I should have specified that he is about 10-11 months old I believe.

Juveniles are often nervous and bitey but they usually mellow with age and size. its too small of an animal to cause you injury, even as an adult. I wouldnt bother to handle it until its ~2 feet long, OR i would not let biting stop me from handling it. when you do that, it eventually learns that biting doesnt make you go away and they usually just stop biting.

:iagree:
Although I've never had a kingsnake that was friendly. Even as adults.

Friendly is not a term that I consider applicable to ectotherms in general, but I have at least a dozen adult cal kings of various morphs and all are calm enough to allow children to handle. They aren't "friendly", but they are tolerant and habituated to contact.
