• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Banana Kingsnake multiple bites.

I have a banana kingsnake, and he is not very old. I bought him from a guy who couldn't take care of him anymore. He has bitten me 3 times in the last 2 weeks and im not exactly sure what is prompting him to do this. He did have a scratch on his back when i bought him, because apparently the guy that owned him was trying to remove mites from him and he got partially down the sink and he cut his back pulling him out was what I was told. Any ideas or input on what it might be please get back to me. also anything else that might be helpful to know, just ask away.
 
by not very old, I should have specified that he is about 10-11 months old I believe.
 
Juveniles are often nervous and bitey but they usually mellow with age and size. its too small of an animal to cause you injury, even as an adult. I wouldnt bother to handle it until its ~2 feet long, OR i would not let biting stop me from handling it. when you do that, it eventually learns that biting doesnt make you go away and they usually just stop biting.

Although I've never had a kingsnake that was friendly. Even as adults.
 
Friendly is not a term that I consider applicable to ectotherms in general, but I have at least a dozen adult cal kings of various morphs and all are calm enough to allow children to handle. They aren't "friendly", but they are tolerant and habituated to contact.
