In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Glades Herp Farms/Florida (RobRoy MacInnes) - fraudulent behaviour

Nick! What a way to go balls out!

You sir should start a Scammer Slammer Squad or sumthin.

Nice to know the OP has options and isn't totally boned!

(BTW Im totally down for a S.S.S. if u wanna do it! :D )

To the OP
Good luck on opening this to the general media, and hopefully you can get some compensation after a long wait!

Do you think going to the media about a deal gone bad regarding very dangerous venomous snakes such a good idea? Especially with photos showing these same dangerous snakes ( inside plastic deli cups), being handled and sold to the general public.
I may of missed it, but why isn't this being pursued in the courts?

Exactly, something like this will only bring negative attention to hot keepers. The rip off part of it will be overshadowed. You know how the media is with reptiles in general, but hots? Even worse.

I believe he is located overseas. He should still be able to pursue this in the Courts,no?

Yes and No. As someone from Glades would have to fly over there. But there are different laws where a victim is, so I would say more on the No side. The victim in this case could have more info on this.

Me too let go for it

How much do you think it would cost for him to get tickets to fly to the states for the hearings? How much do you think it would cost him to retain a US lawyer for court? He'll have to put out more then the $5k owed him out of pocket. Did you consider that is why Glades is ignoring the attorney demand for payment letters? They know he's not going to spend thousands to recoup the stolen property or compensation of the $5k debt.

If the publicity goes bad, blame Glades for stealing. Don't blame the victim for pursing every avenue he can.

You are right. I thought the amount of money involved was much more. It wouldn't make sense at all to persue it in Court. That being said .... I still firmly believe going the media route is a terrible mistake.
1. The media "slant" will definitly not be on how Glades ripped this poor guy off. It will be on the easy availablity of dangerous serpents in Florida.
2. With the recent programs on invasive reptiles in Florida, do you think the 2 comments earlier about loose reptiles / Glades in southern Florida will be missed? Any reporter worth his/her salt will research the BOI & find it. Heck, the Op himself will probably send the reporter to this thread.
3. The Op wants his money. Understood. He does not care if any new laws are passed in this country due to his story. He wants his money back!

I feel for the Op. Glades clearly took advantage of the fact he is located overseas. I think we would get better results by contacting Glades and telling them we are not happy with the way this transaction was handled. As a result, we will not be placing an order. If Glades gets enough of this, they will realize they are missing out on new revenue and more importantly, repeat revenue. A call or two put to the producers of their TV program wouldn't hurt either. No channel wants one of their shows under a ethics cloud. They, more than anybody, might put pressure on Glades to make things right. That, or they might cancel the program, especially if ratings aren't that good.
Either way, a win - win situation.

Ive been forced to take dead beat payers to court before. I can say its a last resort call to take that route. And even IF you do win the case in court. It takes yrs to get the case heard before a judge. And then you probably will never see a dime of the judgement the judge imposes on the defendant. You see people that dont pay their debts dont choose to only not pay your debt. They most likely dont pay ANY of their debts. So another judgement doesnt mean anything to them. Their credit is most likely trashed already so they just keep scamming and unfortunately your out the $$ for the attorney as well as the original items. Thats why its so important not to ship anything before its paid in full.

Received this email moments ago. Evidently Glades cried about my (and others) posts on Facebook. It proves that they are aware of this public thread and have no intention of settling there debt.

Ben, I suggest you follow the wealth of leads provided here by others. Persistence will pay off in the end.

I do agree that the press will probably spin this in a negative light against all snake keepers. The besti thing for us to do is to flat-out boycott Glades, period. The OP needs to stay adamant about that and we, as consumers, need to support him by boycotting Glades.

That a BS way. All they would have to do is go to expo and they will stay in the BIZ. Now if the people that run and expos say they would not let them set up and all the people in the world would say 100% they would not buy or sell to them that might work.

The press is the best way and put the hot keeps in the light on selling them in a better way (not in cups and selling to newbie). So be it.

Yes, let's all be realistic here. "Boycotting" Glades is a well in good, but unless they are boycotted from shows, it will do no good. Start emailing the shows they're supposed to be attending. I've already contacted ECRSE.

You are clouding this subject with oranges when it pertains to apples. This is a deal in which the OP was cheated, on a legal product. The point that they are venomous is moot because the snakes never even changed location and remained where they were. This is not a topic of safety, but a scam.

And if this was a topic of safety with illegal snakes, then why should it be kept from the media? Should all wrong doing be kept a secret to preserve the hobby? I think not. If people can't control themselves, then someone should step in.

No other laws or regulations were violated here except that money was stolen. Keeping this subject hush-hush will only help the cheaters.
