    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was thinking about going to the show in San Diego but I will not be able to make that drive with current gas prices.

I wouldn't mind meeting with somebody to verify I am me.

I'm going to encourage you to rethink that decision carefully, especially if you do truly want to get into the reptile hobby.

What Kyle said earlier about starting off with "hot goods" really does apply here, and you're starting from way behind due to your association with Chad- however strong or weak that association may in fact be or have been.

Your best- and I suspect only- way to work yourself out from underneath that cloud is going to be to build some relationships with some established and reputable breeders.

That alone in the long run might make the trip cost more than worth it... especially if you can take a gecko or two with you to the show (check show rules about that- some will and some won't allow it...)
 
Hey- question for everyone else in this thread- is there anyone who saw and remembers Chad's picture on facebook who can verify for sure that the picture in the ID a few pages back is definitely NOT Chad?

That way if Broderick does present himself to someone known to us and is in fact the person pictured on the ID, we know for sure that it's not just a fake ID in the first place?

Whats it matter? They have the exact same IP address....I dont think anything else needs to be said IMO...hes caught
 
After reading this mess of a thread, I'm kind of stunned. I honestly don't think this is Chad - and he just said he'd be more than willing to meet with someone to prove who he is. The ID was changed around - perhaps he made an honest mistake by editing the photo for the last part of his name. Overall, though. Why does it even matter if he shifted the spelling of his name a little bit? It doesn't.

If he posts a picture of himself holding the driver's license then it really doesn't matter if his name is spelled a bit differently or not, it will prove who he is, and most importantly, that it isn't Chad.

Honestly I think you guys are being a little harsh here. If this isn't Chad, which I don't think it is, then you're basically trying to shove someone who's newer into the community off because of someone else's reputation. Why does it matter that you know where he got the money to buy the geckos? I had money when I was twenty and could go buy some higher end geckos, and I did. It's not like you need a forever job to be able to get some higher end stuff.

For all my opinion is worth (probably not much) I think the reputation of the animals and who they used to be owned by should END with Chad, and not continue on for this new guy, IF he does prove who he is, which I think he will. I would be a little lost too if so many people started hounding me (and whether it is thought to be rude or harsh doesn't matter, for someone new it seriously would be).

Give the guy a chance. Let him post a pic of himself and the ID and then everyone just take a chill pill.

And if I'm wrong and this IS Chad, I'll have to go to a corner and re-evaluate my ability to deduce character from a person. Derp.
 
As I said before i do not have the funds to make a trip to San Diego. Im not going to give up my hard earned money to make a drive out to San Diego to prove that I am who I am stating I am and should even have to be proving. Ive complied with everything so far but seriously this is really getting annoying for no reason. Ive already stated that I, BRODERICK have bought a portion of Chad's who has done some shady things on this forums, geckos and that I am selling them. I am doing NOTHING wrong at all by doing so. ALSO out of my own generosity am saying that I would give Geckolove her gecko if I even do have it.

Eh- I might as well go say it here- if Chad truly was living next door, and Broderick allowed Chad to access Broderick's home wireless netword from Chad's laptop, then it would have been easy enough for Chad to keep using that from the house next door- most decent wireless routers are strong enough to reach that far... It would be completely in line with the character Chad showed here to keep effectively stealing Broderick's internet and easy enough to do without Broderick even knowing...

I'm personally not yet convinced that Broderick is who he says he is, but I'm allowing room for error.

I actually HOPE Broderick is who he says he is, as:

1) that will mean that Chad truly is out of the hobby (at least for now), and
2) these geckos have a shot at going to better homes

So I hope that we can see some verification soon.

Sorry, but reputations are key in the business world, and guilt by association is super hard to dig out from under. You may not have fully understood what Chad got you into, but it's just the way the world works...

Let's just try and settle this right now, then, so you can go on your way and this can be settled without another pointless ten pages of circular argument. Please post a picture as an attachment that includes your drivers license and yourself, and perhaps even a few of the geckos you bought. Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

I agree he's handled himself in this thread very differently than Chad had previously, and so that's a big part of the reason I'm personally willing to consider that I may be wrong.

And it's not really the where he got the money that's the issue- it's just the intial story seemed to have some serious holes and that was one more piece that if he'd been able to provide some verification (like a receipt of sale) it would have made it a bit more believable.

Like I said a minute ago- I'd love to be wrong in this case, I really would.

You really think it's right to judge him if he IS who he says he is? Why can't he just start with a blank slate? Why can't the community step up and go against 'how the world works' to help make it a little better out there? If this is settled then I see no reason why there needs to be a grudge against him or his ability to sell the geckos unless he does as Chad did. If he sells healthy animals and ships them on time then he shouldn't have issues. If he doesn't then he screwed HIMSELF.

This guy just doesn't smell like 'scammer' to me. He just sounds frustrated and fed up with everyone on his case. I hope he takes some pictures and posts them to simply end the argument and move on.

Yeah, his offer of a gift gecko sure doesn't come from the scammer handbook.
I hope for resolution as well one way or another. I can very much see that people would be suspicious and cautious, if he is the real deal, himself, he should just be patient and understand why all this is happening and why caution needs to happen, sometimes.

@ Ansli- That was SO SO nice of you to offer to help with shipping! I have seen so much generosity on these forums that we are all a part of, and I hope I get to do such nice generous things for people someday too. But Ansli, I would feel awful having you put anything towards this, and I dont want to put anymore towards this :(

I paid for shipping already once, and dont feel like paying for it again (or having someone else pay for it:eek:). Also even though I still occasionally look back at his/her little picture:eek: (ya I do sometimes:rolleyes:) I have accepted the one I recieved, and actually really like him, so I've tried to put the other one out of my mind.

If Broderick would like to send him/her to me, I would gladly accept:yesnod: and in return I'd give some good words in a good guy thread for him;). But I dont want ANYONE giving any money to someone we dont quite trust yet.
