In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy BEWARE OF BUYING FROM REPTILEUV.COM!!

I don't know what's going on with that company. Maybe they've undergone some changes that weren't for the better. ???

I do know that I've been buying Nutri-bac off them for yrs, and never had a problem. However, lately, the people I've suggested try it out this last year, have notified my of problems, usually prolonged delivery.

I wonder if this is another Matt Graybeal thing, where things just got too big too fast, and you can't keep up. ???

The explanation has been posted on their site.

And while it certainly all makes sense, you would think with so many orders, etc. they would have closed down the order taking and just made a public statement, rather than ignoring so many customers and having their rep dragged down.

Oh well, at least we know now.

Ding Ding Ding, Ding, exactly right. They still have my $200 and after repeated attempts to find out when the order was going to ship, nothing but silence. Order placed on April 6th, we are one day away from June. If there are problems, they should stop taking orders and refund the money they have taken.

I recently saw a guy on a thread that just ordered and received his within a week. Meanwhile they are still holding my money since March and I have not received it or been able to contact them. NO reply from them at all. Every time you call you get somebody's mail box that is full. I mean it's not like this guy has a half a million orders out there Come on!

I have had a similarly frustrating experience with Mega-Ray recently.

Back in February (19th), I ordered a 100W Mercury Vapour Bulb. It arrived in short order and worked fine. On March 6, I needed a second bulb so I went ahead and placed a second order. I had not received it by March 18, and because I am in Canada I sent them an e-mail just making sure it had been sent. I was given excuses until March 23 when I simply requested a refund which was promptly given once requested. One of the excuses was that their stock was low because of a batch of defective bulbs that only lasted 2-3 months.

As it turns out, my first bulb was probably from that batch, but it stopped working on May 22. I contact ReptileUV immediately to request a refund or replacement as per the warranty. For the second payment (the one that was refunded), I went through my PayPal acct. For the FIRST payment, though, I used my credit card (via their PayPal portal) - I can't remember why.

For this reason, I didn't have a transaction number. I sent them a copy of the receipt and the communications I had shared with them in March (regarding the defective bulbs). I was mostly shrugged off with excuses ("it says here we refunded your payment" - referring to the second purchase) until today, June 9, when I was told that unless I could provide a transaction ID, they would have to assume that my payment had already been refunded.

I printed up my credit card statement from February until today, blacked out most of what was there (where I had made purchases), and hilighted the relevant transaction (the original payment in February) and scanned it as a PDF along with the PayPal receipt and sent that to them via e-mail. I was refunded within an hour, thankfully.

In conclusion, I don't think they are bad guys. I think they grew too quickly for their own good and/or are under management that just isn't competent or qualified to manage their store. I would not buy from them again, however, as their bulbs do not last more than 8 months and customer service is a nightmare.

Still no refund and still no bulbs. I've contacted them through their website's contact form a few weeks ago and no reply. Today, I emailed them and requested a refund. Three months is ridiculous to fulfill an order. Not answering emails or contact requests is very poor customer service.

If they don't have the product or can not get it quickly, they should let their customers know and stop taking orders.

I received mine I had ordered in March this week. I also ordered another quickly and received it three days later. One works great the other Popped when I turned it on. We will see how they are on returns

It is now near the end of July. Still they do not answer emails or contact from their webpage. Still have not completed the order or refunded my $207. Maybe they've gone out of business and have not told anyone?

I purchased a self ballasted mega ray bulb for my bearded dragon last year and it didn't work. I emailed them. My reply stated that the previous manager was sending out defective bulbs and not handling the customer service properly so they let him go and ordered in a new shipment of those bulbs... They sent me another one.. Guess what. It didn't work!

I gave up on them. My local reptile store began selling the good bulbs which are identical to the mega ray self ballasted UVA/UVB bulbs so I bought one there.

They couldn't or wouldn't get their shyte straight I bought locally!

Tried calling the number on their website this morning and get a "Mailbox full" message. It sounds like I got ripped off to me. I'm not sure they are even in business any longer. I used their contact form and told them that there is a thread here, but still no response.

This is very disappointing. If they can't fill orders, they should stop taking them on-line.

 Couldn't agree more. Especially since I've had good dealings with them, and have sent people their way for their Nutribac df, just to suffer the embarrassment of them getting further and further behind, and taking for ever to fill the orders.

I filed a complaint through IC3.GOV this morning after leaving them a message on their contact form that if they did not contact me about a refund or shipping I would do so. I waited a day for them to do something and as usual, nothing. Next, I'm going to contact my bank and see if there is anything I can do to get a refund. I doubt it because the order was placed in the beginning of April.

My attempts to contact them about my order were:

Contact Us Form on their webpage: 4/28/11, 6/14/11, 7/19/11, 7/20/11, 7/21/11
Emailed [email protected]: 5/18/11 and 6/24/11
Called but got mailbox full message: 7/21/11

So, I've attempted to contact them eight times with no response over a period of four months.

I am not making excuses for Bob, but I know the issue with the bad bulbs really set him behind. He has not gone out of business. I think he just bit off more then he could chew. I went down there a few times to help him out with his backlog of orders but that was a couple of years ago. I do know he has had some life changing events occur which could have caused even more backlog. Keep trying to contact him about your orders, I am sure he will get it taken care of, I just don't know how long it will take him. I did contact him about the thread but was unable to get an explanation to post here for him. I will try again though for you guys.

It sounds like you ARE making excuses for the company.

All of us have challenges in our lives. The point is, if he is overloaded, he needs to stop taking people's orders and people's money.

If he is not out of business and expects to salvage what might be left of his reputation, he needs to hire someone to answer people's queries about their orders, and hire additional people to fill orders in a timely manner.

People are buying these bulbs for their critters, not to support this man until he can get around to sending stuff out.

I ordered some nutri-bac from them on August 7, 2010, and have still yet to receive it. Of course, I gave up on it last Fall. A couple of weeks after I ordered it, I called to inquire and talked to a man (been too long ago to remember his name) and he was going to have someone call me. When no one did, I sent an e-mail, asking to either send me the product or a refund. By the time I thought of having Paypal (maybe) do something, it was well past the 30 days, and the minimal amount of money wasn't worth wasting anymore time. Had I known that this was not just a simple case of my tiny order getting lost, I would have brought it here, to warn others. Hindsight, 20/20 and all that. :shrug01:

Exactly.

I have bought from them for a couple of years, and after getting my third batch of crap, I just want to send it back and get a refund. I don't want to have $100 + dollars in their hands, when I could at least be offering my turtles some UVB. Good thing it's summer time.

They need to STOP ignoring customers and taking orders, and START addressing their backlog. They wouldn't be so damn overwhelmed, if they weren't taking orders they couldn't get to.

Bob (or whoever is making these decisions) is being foolish. He's setting himself up for big backlash, and it does not take more than 10 minutes to stop, put a note on the site saying: "due to volume and production issues, we are no longer taking orders. Were are working on resolving all outstanding orders and returns, and when that is complete, we will resume taking new orders."

I understand there are some life changing circumstances, but there is no way the guy is booked 24 hours a day that he can't have the time/courtesy to do that.

I sent another Website contact form through today as well as another email last week, still no response. Also, no response yet from the IC3 complaint. I fail to see why this company continues to take people's money when they have no intention of fulfilling orders.
