In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Ken Foose, not a good dealer

I just wanted to clarify in my last post that it is mentioned in the op first post that he thought he should get a free snake, but nothing about being offered a full refund and I accidentally deleted that part out of my post.

A replacement snake should be sent and shipping should be paid for by the seller. The deformed snake (getting to keep it) and the second snake's shipping should not be considered a wash.

No it wouldn't if that was the only option but the buyer was offered a full refund which is all that was needed. The customer doesn't dictate their own remedy above that, do they?

I probably should not have ordered another snake. That was my fault. Sorry for this whole thing.

The measure of a dealer is how he performs not when things go right, but when they don't. Here, one could not have asked more of any dealer than what Ken offered. so imho this is another mislabelled thread.

As someone who buys way more than he sells, I should point out that, with the high cost of shipping a reptile, it is often a thing for me to put off getting one until I have the intention of getting two or more. It's much more cost effective if you're paying $65 to ship two or three animals, than it is for just one.

But that's irrelevant to the fact that this thread is ridiculous considering its timing.

"I continued soaking him for several days."
Stated by the OP, but then the OP did not have time to take him to a vet.

Neglecting to mention you were offered a FULL refund, and CHOSE to pay shipping on a second "replacement" snake while also keeping the first deformed snake as well.

Neglecting to mention that when the replacement died(after you failed to even seek vet treatment for "several days" at least), you were given a full refund.

Saying that the Black rat is actually a yellow rat, and that Ken must have just picked out a rat snake at random to fill a black ratsnake order, yet saying the ratsnake is fine later without mentioning it being wrong at all.

Seems to me that you're being dishonest in representing the deal almost entirely. It would have been best if you recieved a perfect, healthy snake to begin with. But when it was imperfect, the seller did what he could do, he offered a full refund. You ASKED for a replacement, and were informed it was full refund OR you could pay shipping on a replacement. Would it be nice to get the replacement without paying shipping? Yes. But you still had the option of taking a full refund instead.

Perhaps you didn't think that anyone would question the facts of the deal when you posted a Bad Guy thread full of misdirection and falsehood?

I still do not think the OP has actually verified what was refunded. At the end of the transaction, what funds were actually returned to the OP?

The op was offered a full refund or the choice to keep the first snake and get another snake for free, minus shipping. So, what was refunded was basically another snake.

Ken stated that he refunded the price of the snake. Where is the question? The OP certainly hasn't denied that he received a refund and kept the snake. Ken made a mistake, even two, with the snakes he shipped, but offered a refund, and gave the refund after the second snake died. What more should he have done? As Ken said...he's not perfect, but the handled the situation to the OP's apparent satisfaction...or at least to his satisfaction for 6 months. Now, (and I suspect after some encouragement) he posts a BG thread, at the same time telling the BOI that he has no problem with Ken.
As I stated earlier, who needs this kind of customer?

How ridiculous!

Another waste of internet space on the BOI with a mislabeled post.

So, in addition to Adam not telling the FULL story with his initial post, including the refund he received, he is on another forum stating misinformation, and I quote:

" Well, this happened about 4 months ago and I did hit him with everything I had. He basically shrugged it off and said tough. I am going over there to post ASAP. "

Here is the link at :

Unbelievable.

So, I am technologically not knowledgable to post the link. Sorry everyone. LOL!

It is on the Bush League Breeder's Club forum, if anyone is interested.

I truly wonder if there is someone behind this... That encouraged Adam to post this BOI bc they knew him from another forum and knew he had a transaction with Ken that didn't go smoothly. Possibly to try to "convince" us what a bad guy Ken is? This is just a gut feeling I've had from the moment I read the thread, and noticed this was the op's first post and he JUST joined this month. Another bad guy thread that ultimately shows what a class act Ken is.

Bc I know I've been hard on you Adam, but you really don't seem like a bad guy - and it really doesn't seem like this was your idea, bc all uve really said since your initial thread is good things about Ken, and you have yet to post any real proof that these animals were in the terrible condition you claim they were when they arrived...

And good lookin kingsnake, I missed the "I soaked him for a (couple or few) days" when I was trying to figure out how the animals were so sick but not taken to a vet bc there wasn't enough time. IMHO, if you cannot get a sick animal to a vet in 48 hours for whatever reason, you probably should re-evaluate if you really should have the pet(s). I agree w Diem that not everyone has a 24 hour clinic that fits their budget or that sees reptiles, but if you take on animals you have to have some kind of veterinary resource you can reach out to within 48 hours. I have received a lot of sick animals, so I PLAN on having to take the animals I buy sight unseen to the vet within 24 hours... I gave up on expecting healthy animals and then getting caught off guard. But diem pointed out not everyone is of that opinion and she's right.

Natalie, I respectfully reject the conspiracy theory. There just can't be that many people out for my head, at least I hope not. I think we can chalk it up to just poor luck on my part. Thanks every one who has had kind things to say about me and privately to me. Much appreciated. Two bad guy threads at the same time is a bit stressful. I would have never imagined. Take care

I was prompted by some people on another forum. But that does not really matter, I was the one holding the keyboard. I should not have posted.

I am very sorry that I forgot to say that I was refunded. I was only refunded for the snakes though. So I did end up having to pay shipping 2 times.

Well, here is the problem. The closet clinic that deals with reptiles is 70 minutes away. I did schedule the appointment but it was pushed out almost a week.

By the time the Kink snake showed symptoms, it was too late.

Way to give in to peer pressure, to say it makes you look foolish is an understatement.

Ken offered to refund you the animal from the get go. You are out shipping twice because of your own decision.

Posts here remain forever. They are not deleted. They can always be searched for. Hope you feel good about yourself.

Well, here is the problem.

You almost had it, realizing and saying that this thread should never have been initiated.

But then, you lost credibility, by again pressing the issue.

Be a man. Apologize, walk away, and realize that God gave you a brain and you should think for yourself, not be a puppet for others on other forums.

So I called foose and told him what happened. He said that he hadn't noticed the kink when he shipped it. Then he said he could send me another one but I had to pay shipping.

Sorry, I didn't make it clearer. I said he would send me another of the price of shipping. I meant to add that he refunded the price of the original king and sent the next one without charging me.

Adam - it's very good that you take responsibility. But, I really had a feeling someone encouraged this. It's a big step for someone to admit when they are wrong.

A bit off topic, but I understand that the closest clinic you know of is 70 miles, but is there any way for you to find one that's closer so you'll be ready in case this ever happens again?
