Thanks Nick, that killed me! I do see both sides here unfortunately. I think if you are going to write a BOI, with how the BOI is now a days, I don't know why you would even try without evidence. Though even then if I really, honestly, DID get ripped off, but I had deleted or lost my evidence I still couldn't just write it off :/. I am a very honest, fair, person so I hate being ripped off as much as the next....

I don't know why Doug wouldn't make more of an effort either? That is odd to me. I think Nick was right in that sense. This whole thing is messy.

Not sure... Could be the same reason a lot of the larger breeders do not come to a site like this much. No matter what they say it is wrong and they are in it only for the money.... I am not sure... But to tell you the truth. If a person comes to me with a story and no proof it is just that a story

The only thing that does exist somewhere is an email that states that Doug has changed his story about whether or not he sent the animal back to me or whether he kept it because as he says we did a trade for babies that were part of our litter....which in itself is a bit odd no?

You need to go to law school or take a debate class. People claim things all the time without what you are calling proof. Courtrooms are full of cases that have no 'PROOF". I have a right to come on here and state what I say happened...and he has a right to come on here and argue his side of the story. He did that...and his post says a lot if you read between the lines and use some logic.

I find it odd that people that know Doug personally, that do business with him...are coming on here talking about the law and courts when you would be the first people that would be kicked off of a jury due to bias. You know him, you like him as a person...you would not be on the jury...period. You are using past personal experience with the accused to bias your take on this case.

So the only people sticking up for Doug know him...and people coming on here and sticking up for me...(or as you call, taking my story as the bible)
dont know me...they are just using their better judgment after reading all the posts going back and forth...some even calling him directly and getting a taste of what Doug is like. None of these people know me directly yet they came to an educated decision with the evidence presented.

You friends of Doug have totally ignored that Doug came on here after 3 years and took personal swipes at me and someone else who i dont even know. Calling me a drug addict? Thats ok with you guys? You are worried that people are taking my story as truth using better judgment but are not concerned at all with someone who comes on, ignores the real issue at hand and proceeds to personally slander me with something that has NOTHING to do with reptiles at all. Again...you would be the FIRST to be kicked off of a jury if this was a legal case. Do you really not see that? Really?

I have the freedom to speak my mind, I dont have to prove anything to do that...you can disagree and I can counter...its what makes this country so great.

I state once again, this all happened....if I find that email it proves a lot...including this Jeff guy that you think is such a great person is also lying since he stated he actually read emails that prove Im lying....he has done the same thing you are reprmanding me for...saying something with no backup of proof whatsoever...but he is a great guy cause you know him right?

I myself do this as a hobby and in a weird way a stress relief. I lose money on this aswell, but was all made worth it by my first morning of baby goo and little heads looking around all over the place. This is a generalization, but the majority of threads on this site ususally dealing in the bad guy department come from the "buisness people" in this industry. I feel this happens because they lose their personal connection to their animals and they do turn into little dollar signs and not the individual lives that they are. At the end of the day they are living, breathing, and feeling animals. Not just a good to be sold, bought, or traded.

And the accuser has not even tried to prove a thing... That is the point. I could come on here and say Focal X has animals I sent him on loan. he never gave me babies and kept my adults. Neither of us have proof that it did or did not happen. That is why proof is needed. See my point? Without proof anyone can say anything. So if I blame you for such thing it would be your job to prove me wrong? I thought you had to be proven guilty?

Really. People took this story as the bible.... without proof. I think we all sit back until Paul can prove his side. Not sit here give a story and say prove me wrong.

Well here's the difference between Doug and I... I would have been on here moments after a thread like this was posted about me. I would have approached the situation in a manner that would fix the miscommunication (because I'm not a thief) or at least laid out what I had. If I was such a "successful" breeder, I would know to cover my tail a little bit more and come up with a contract to cover my tail, but I guess that's just a hobbiest mistake.

I would NOT have blown this thread off like it would have went away only to return when it's biting me in the rear and affecting my sales.

This came to my attention again because someone contacted me about wanting to buy from Doug, he never told me what he wanted I never asked...I said if he has something you really want and you have cash I'm sure it will be fine. Does that sound like the reaction of someone trying to ruin Doug???

Doug coming on here all this time later and reacting the way he did says it all to anyone paying attention. Connect all the dots, motive, reactions...it's clear to anyone who uses logic...

Sorry, not only is not there a standard of 'beyond a reasonable doubt', there is not even enough here to make your story 'more likely than not'.

You and anyone have a right to some speak your say, but the readers also have a right to believe what they choose.

If you said your tale then left, that is one thing, but you are trying to enforce the connection of dots that are pretty far apart.

I found it obvious that I couldnt talk to this guy, he was freaking out over the phone, telling me how I screwed up his season and he had been feeding the animals, I offered to pay for the food, he said no just send $400. I did against my own judgment

I am hardly trying to enforce anything.

I'm a busy person who is playing around with snake breeding as a hobby, I didnt make concrete contracts about snake breeding...sorry I dint approach it as a business transaction like you do. It's still that way, I do other breeding projects with people and have no contracts...it's a hobby sorry. I don't have time for all that and it was a $1500 loss...not that big a deal in the big scheme of things.

So what would you do if I stated I sent you snakes that you used to breed this year. There was no proof on my end and sense it never really happened there would be no proof on your end that it did not happen. But in your logic if I had a good enough story you would be in the wrong unless you could prove me wrong. That is the point....

I am not taking sides I am sure neither you are Doug is going to be hurt by this thread. That is why not many people commented on it. It is the same few people. Reason there just is not enough to go on other then a story.

Just for the record I have not bought anything of Doug in a long long time. I was not being a person involved. I was not even taking sides. I said no proof on either side it is he said she said. Not enough proof to go on so move on!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and my Friend Jeff. Yes I have no reason to think he would lie. He has never lied to me. EVER. So you think I am going to take your story over his when I do not know you. If you had proof then you could say something. But a stranger telling me your friend is lieing and then not backing it up. OF COURSE I would take my friends side. Jeff and I have known each other I want to say for 4 to 5 years. He has helped me with advice I have sent friends of mine to him to purchase his animals and they are happy with him. Doug has never lied to me either. But I have not done business with Doug in a very long time.

You need to step back. You want me to read between the lines. But the lines are all wavy.... I have nothing against you. I have not said anything other then way people are questioning you. Harold even stated this here.

I would expect your friends to stick by you if a person was saying things about you. Unless that person had proof that you did them wrong. That is what friends do. Stand by you. But they usually are the first to say you messed up.

Unfortunately, whether it's a hobby or a business, you have to be smart and make a contract in this situation. I wouldn't have even thought twice about it...even if the person was a good friend. This is a hobby for me as well, but I have my hard earned money invested in my animals and I don't want to be ripped off.

I also agree with Gary and Lucille, proof is necessary to make a call on this story.

I Have Personally Delt With Doug Myself He Is Very Heated Person He Produced A Male Pastel Vanilla That I Was Interested In In Breedind With My Super Fire And We Agreed On A Price Of $800 All Was Good Till He Returned My Call And Told Me That He Has Up The Price To 1500 I Had Then Told Him That The Deal Was 800 not 1500 So I Told Him To Keep His Snake And Shove It Up His Ass I Had Then Purchased The Vanilla Pastel From Golf Cost For 800 And It Looks Way Better The Doug And Plus Who Wants To Buy From Someone That Does Not Know How To Treat Customers And Also Seems To Me All His Snakes Die On Him Due To Inproper Care Hes Just Another Breeder With High End Morphs And No One That Wants To Buy Them Cause He A Asshole

I haven't read most of this thread I just came on here because a good friend of mine let me know someone was talking bad about me on here. For the record, I do not know paul nor am I out to "trash Doug's name" the fact of the matter is I got on Doug's website, saw some things in his website that looked nice and maybe even wanted but then when I did my research I found this thread. I realized Doug hadn't responded in a while so I posted the link to the thread on his classified ad on fauna to get his attention. If he got mad I don't care he already lost my business and I'm sure he will lose the business of many others in the future as a direct reflection of his attitude and personality. Thank you to Brian and Nick for standing up for me as well as anyone else I didn't see; it sucks when people talk about you when you don't even know it's going on. I hope I can some how return the favor some day.
