In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Urban Albino guarantee/worthless

Sorry I meant to do this in previous post

Hello,

He then sent me the print out of the Fedex employee putting in a comment that the snake was died. I believe he left the Fedex Office switched out the pied male and went back in and said it was died. That snake that he is showing is dead is way more then 206 grams and way bigger then the pieds I have.

Curious on one thing. Seller said all his Pieds were no where near the size of the dead one. So how could it be a pic/number mistake?

When the pied died they will start to build up gases and the rodent that it ate will also start to make the pied ballon up and look bigger. Also the way the picture was taken could/would make him look allot bigger too. Yes, he was only 206 grams. When I weighed him.

Either way because I'm taking responsibity for it. I didn't have a pic of pied10 and something went wrong on my end when I was saving pictures and labeling the pictures.

Shawn called me again today and we are are good. This will be my last post unless Shawn need me because I told him to call me anytime if he needs anything.

Everything has been resolved.

Thank you,

Michael Castillo

At the beginning of this thing I was getting a really bad feeling about the direction in which it was heading. Glad to see cooler heads prevailed.

I was confident that Michael would do the right thing.

It's been said before, it's all in how you handle a problem and Michael took care of it right away!

Michael,
I do indeed owe you an apology for saying that the snake may have been put into the box already dead. That was a low blow on my part. Please understand that I had a lot of emotions going through me at that time.
I apologize sincerely,
Shawn

Once the problem was found Michael was very fast to apologize and refund my money. Michael has resolved this problem honorably and very respectfully. I am sorry I had to post this issue on this forum, however due to others detective and jury work we were able to resolve this problem. Thank you. I would also like to thank my wonderful wife for supporting me yesterday, Doug and Dawn Horn for their support. And support from the guy on the west side of the state that was supporting by telephone (can't wait to chase some herps with ya). Yesterday was a very stressful day for all of us including Michael, I am glad that this is resolved. Thanks again for every ones support Shawn

I don't think this thread is going to damage him at all. :) He's obviously one of the good guys!

Mr Castillo I applaud and commend your business I.Q. The high road is always the preferred route to take(although in some cases not the easiest) and in the long run will get you there faster in greater comfort.

Like some, I thought this thread was going to be a tuff one(considering the number of post in 2 days), but so glad that those involved were all above board. This thread should be a shinning example of how a resolution can be had by the people whom it concerns. Also a prime example of how important a consumer tool the BOI has been and always will be.

Chad, the reason he refunded the shipping is why Mr Castillo will have a long and lasting career in the reptile world. He's to smart a business man to nit pick concerning less than $100 and also understands that some actions reverberate much longer than other actions. Like you implied, he didn't have to refund but he did none the less because it was the right thing to do for this situation. As far as advertising goes, the shipping refund he gave ads 1000 times it's dollar value to his reputation.

In closing, glad to see both parties are satisfied with the outcome. Andrew

I may have missed something, but if I get this right, the snake's death was probably at least partially attibuted to the fact that it was just fed. If the buyer insisted on shipping the snake, whose fault is it that the snake arrived dead? Probably 50/50. Again, maybe I read something wrong...

Dave

IMO 100% seller fault because he is the one who could have refused to ship it but he didn't. He also sent the wrong snake.

Is any seller worth their salt really going to let the buyer dictate shipping terms when it conflicts with the potential safety of the animal being shipped? Which is more important, ensuring the sale or ensuring that the snake isn't harmed?

Looks like everything got settled nicely. It's too bad that the poor snake is dead though. I do find it very upsetting that when someone comes on here to post about a horrible thing that happened to them, that THEY get accused by members on here of "having it in their collection". That is quite an accusation and unwarranted. I would hope that the BOI is for the victims to get help and not have to worry about being accused of such nonsense. I personally think that Shawn should be issued apologies for this and good on Michael for making things right. Just my .02

I just got a vanilla female from Michael and she was shipped perfectly and looks great. She is eating and growing like I weed. I would absolutely buy from him again. I couldn't be happier with our transaction. With this piebald situation I feel like Michael still comes out as a good guy because he took fault for everything and righted the situation. That is customer service. Can't wait to buy from you again Michael.

I may have interpreted things differently along the way than others, but initially I would agree with you up until I read the post from the original victim stating:
He is completely denying that this is his snake that came out of the box.
Followed by the seller:
...I called him back right away; and said that is NOT the piedm10....

...Again, the pictures of the died snake he posted is NOT the pied male I sent him...

Once these accusations fly, it is wrong to all out attack one party over the other party, but must insist on evidence for either's accusations... evidence which was not being posted to support either's claim.

For us to accuse flat out that the victim was in the wrong is absolutely poor practice on our part, yet the two involved parties were the ones who started the accusations, unless I missed something.

That's at least my perception of the situation.

im sure he doesnt even have that same snake. i seen that same snake picture on yahoo images. and it looks like that snake has been dead longer then 24 hours.

The deli cup in the picture has the sellers writing on it. I think (or hope) he would have noticed that.

And kudos to Michael for manning up here. Lots of people make mistakes, its how you respond to those mistakes that defines who you are. I think at first he really believed the OP was pulling a fast one. Glad it worked out, regardless of the accusations towards the OP.
