In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

On 5-23-2012 Tibor and myself made a deal and I was to buy a clutch from him.
I offered to pay-pal him the money or use them(pay-pal) for a deposit. He told me to send a check and that will be fine. I e-mailed him to confirm the check has been sent. The check went out Thursday 5-24-2012.It was going from Ct to California. On Sunday 5-27-2012 Tibor e-mailed me asking if I was still interested and sent me photos. I once again confirmed I was and the check was in the mail and offered pay pal once again. On 5-28-2012(Memorial day) Tibor left a message with me that he sold the litter on me. I phoned him and he told me to give him a hour and he would call me back. No call back so I returned his call and told him I was serious and wanted the litter and once again offered a pay pal deposit. On 5-28-2012 at 11:32 he e-mailed me again saying they could not come up with the money so the litter is mine again if I wanted it. I assured him again that check was on the way offered pay pal once again and told him I wanted them.On 5-29-2012 Tibor emailed me saying he got my check and is sending it back to me and not sending the litter.
So I had to do a stop payment on my check and refused a couple nice litters due to expecting this litter.
I emailed Tibor and told him how I felt and his ans was basically I sold the litter to someone else. oh well.

Tibor if you make a deal you should hold your end of the deal. This fallen deal has cost me time and money.

here are a few leading up to this.

Hi Tibor
Check is coming. It went out on Thursday 5-24-2012 am should get there today or tomorrow. I can send you a pay pal for deposit( as offered before) if you are worried about me backing out or not sending the funds. Let me know if you get the check today.
No need to put them back up. We made a deal on Wednesday night 5-23-2012 and I am holding my end of the bargain.
Thank you
Joe

his final response

Joe..got your letter this morning did not open it ...sending it back now...I'm sorry.. the risk is to high for me to ship these boas all together and I don't have 27 small snake bags @ this time..thought I could ship all together in one bag ..tried last night ..not a good idea..rather then waste any more of your time..I'm done with that take care, tibor

here is the e-mail a few days later to tell him how I felt.

Hi Tibor

I just needed to let you know how disappointed and upset I am about you reneging on our deal. It not only cost me time but also cost

me money. I had to stop payment on the check and I passed on a couple of nice litters thinking we had a deal and I was getting the

litter from you. Once you sent me the photos I picked out the ones I was going to upgrade my collection with.

I just wanted to let you know that this is a pretty unprofessional way of conducting business. If you offer some one a deal

and then make a deal you NEED to uphold your end. You do not try to sell something to someone else once the item is already

sold. Then come back and say we still have a deal and break the deal again.

I thought you where more professional then this and a man of your word ,but I was wrong. I did check and you had a good reputation, but

backing out of deals is not going to help your reputation.

I wish things turned out better you do have some nice animals.
Joe

here was his ans.

joe sorry your disapointed..you did take a while to decide as well and low balled me..remember!..and your envolope arrived on tuesday of this week..and I sent it back..without opening it..so think what you like..its happened to me many times as well..what I did was sold both litters..thats a deal I needed sorry..offered it to you as well..oh well ..sorry all the best, tibor
ps your ck should arrive anyday.

Sounds like he got an offer of more money from someone else and decided to sell to them instead of keeping up his end of the deal. Pretty crappy thing to do.

Just a side note here, when sending a check/ money order, send it priority so it gets there quicker. Although, it sounds like that wouldn't have helped. If he didn't like your offer he should have said so.

I gave him his full asking price. Your right it probably wouldn't have mattered
the check got there within 3 business days.

This speaks volumes about the seller's character. If he felt that he was being low balled, all he had to say was "no, thanks" or give the buyer an idea of what he was hoping to get. If an offer was made and accepted, the actual amount of the transaction becomes obsolete in terms of it being high or low for the item in question.
"Reminding" you that your offer was low does not in any way negate his responsibility to follow through on the deal like a professional.

I agree. he offered me two litters for one price or one litter for another price, so I offered him 1/2 the price(of 2 litters) for one litter. I then later agreed on his full asking price and the deal was sealed or I thought it was sealed.

Have you notified him of this thread? I agree that if there was money sent, he should have done his part of the deal. I did a search and there are a lot of people saying they had good deals with him, but busting an agreed for, paid for deal seems unethical.

A deal is not completed just because you said you mailed a check, payment must be received and check cleared to complete a deal.

Maybe the deal would have ended better if you would have express mailed(overnight) that check?

No I have not notified him. I did the same search before making the deal and thought that he was honorable to deal with

Lucille I should have continued my thought.

If you are an online seller you know what I am saying.for almost every ad you post you will get a number of buyers that will tell you they will send a check, pay you on friday or maybe pay you $50.00 every 2 weeks until the end of time. just by telling me you sent a check does not mean I will not sell something to a person standing in front of me with a hand full of cash.

Bottom line is most people that tell you they will send a check never do and if you are waiting for that check that was probably never sent your sales will amount to 0.
