In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I bought four supposed breeding groups of Leopard geckos from him, and I bought them in horrible condition. This is animal cruelty, and am extremely upset at the husbandry of the animals while in his care. I got 2 males, a bunch of sick geckos, and the babys that he supposedly produced have missing tails due to being underfed.

Wow...

Did you see pictures before you bought them? Were they sold as healthy animals? Were they shipped?

You will probably want to post any emails or background information on the transaction.

I went and picked the animals up. I did receive pics of the animals, but in the pics they all looked healthy. I still have the pics in my cell phone. I drove two hours to meet him. The whole drive he was extremely rude, and trying to hurry me. Upon meeting him and seeing the condition the geckos were in, I of course asked for a discount. His wife/gf became infuriated at the fact I wasn't willing to pay full price for a 3 year old gecko that weighted 19 grams, and was obviously emaciated. Most of the transaction was through phone calls and text. Randys reasoning for the animals being so emaciated was that he recently changed their diet, possibly changed from crickets to nothing? I felt sorry for the geckos, and didn't want to leave them to die. He sells other animals as well, and was appalled at the condition he keeps his animals in.

You saw the animals in person and still purchased them

tho I DO understand wanting to save them from the situation (good for you!) you did still purchase them after seeing them

Now I'm assuming you want no resolution? Just to inform people?

As a retailer you shouldn't sell sick or emaciated animals. If someone was going to pick up a dog in these conditions criminal charges would be pressed. I would hope no other animals would have to live through this. Animals came to me with bite marks (which I bathed with anti-biotic soap, and put neosporin on), and some had missing tails. I can provide a link to the for sale thread on one of the facebook groups if needed. Most of the conversation was over the phone, or by text.

I understand I probably shouldn't have purchased the animals, but if someone saw a dog with ribs showing and extremely dehydrated, its hard to just walk away.

Apparently, a lot of people find it difficult to let Animal Control do their jobs. It would have been easier to report him, and lighter on your purse to report him to the appropriate people.

IMO, that would have done more immediate good/longterm good than taking on another's burden for yourself.

If there are other animals there and you have evidence that will stand that you received these animals from that alleged seller then you can still do some long term good.

Since you negated your right to have a refund (imo) by purchasing the animals after you viewed them (that's implied "AS IS"...again, IMO as I have not researched the legalities), then I, agree with Willow, that this would be better served as an INFO thread...but here it is. :shrug01:

Clif, I'm not any kind of expert but I think texts can be retrieved. I have to agree with Deborah that animal control would have been more effective, but I have to agree with you that it is hard to walk away. You sound like you are fixing to give them the good care they need, good for you.

You should always research seller. This guy should have been out of reptiles if everyone stayed away from him.

Cliff is not looking for his money back from what i understand.
He is just trying let people know how Randy Cares for his animals.
or should i say doesnt care for his animals.

This is absurd. no person with a shred of intelligence or sense of humanity would let a gecko get like these are.
I understand things happen when breeding.. i have a few that are VERY skinny, from this season some will never make it but something is SERIOUSLY wrong here.

Cliff, depending on your phone model, you maybe able to forward the texts to your email address (that is if they are still on your phone)

If the texts aren't on your phone, don't bother trying to get them from your provider. A court order is needed to retrive texts from their database

I'm sorry but that is ridiculous.

Or am I missing something here?

I don't see what wanting a resolution has anything to do with this qualifying as a bad guy thread. When you starve animals, your a BAD GUY.

It seems simple to me, but instead some want to talk about what type of thread this should be:shrug01:

If I AM missing something, than I apologize and forget I even said anything. If the seller really starved these geckos like it appears, I think the "title" of the thread is not only NOT an issue, but I also think it is the title it deserves.

I've seen Randy's other BOI thread/threads(?) and it appears this guy is definitely bad news.

I also find it amusing that his wife was so upset about anything when she is the one who supposedly got Randy to send an owed payment in his other BOI. Maybe she is getting mad at Randy screwing up and it costing them money:rolleyes:

Cliff, I give you two :thumbsup: for helping out these poor geckos. I don't see why it would be too late to call animal control like others have suggested. You still have the animals, and it seems you should have some sort of proof that you got them from him.

Good luck with them, I hope they make it.

woooow....first thing first....hope you can get those little buggers healthy. I can sympathize with you taking them. Im also just as impulsive to rescue an animal but yeah at times it seems its better left to authorities. I personally would have looked him straight in the face and said "what are you joking me?" and walked out cussin obsenities in 3 languages including Klingon. Thank you for the warning. And i hope his wife woops him cause it sounds like hes costing them money and his wife is PISSED!!!.......Good post. Post some pics when they look better. Good luck
