In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Terry Maheuron - Photo Thief

i am not a ball python owner and can only be blunt. honestly once an un copyrighted photo is givin or put on the internet it becomes public domain and that means you no longer own the rights to the photo. to call some a thief due to it is horrible. if you are so hurt by it then go get the pics you take copyrighted then you have a valid complant. because right now your thread will cause harm and economic damage to a someone who might have maid mistake and really doesnt deserve a bad guy thread

You have 100% no clue what you are talking about.

You automatically and immediately have a copyright on any photo or other "original works of authorship" that you are the author to, published or unpublished. No registration is legally required.

Read this in your spare time: Digital Focus: Your Photos, Your Rights, and the Law.

honestly once an un copyrighted photo is givin or put on the internet it becomes public domain and that means you no longer own the rights to the photo.

You are very inncorrect. Any thing you post is automatically copyrighted.

Copyright is a federal law of the United States that protects original works of authorship. A work of authorship includes literary, written, dramatic, artistic, musical and certain other types of works.

Copyright attaches as soon as the original work is created, and applies to both published and unpublished works. As soon as you type words, click the shutter on your camera (or, for many of you, hit the home button on your iPhone), apply paint to canvas or paper or lay down tracks for your next hit, you’ve got a copyright (with some exceptions).

Copyright is an automatic right and does not require the author to file special paperwork, as is the case for trademark and patent. Registration is required to enforce the rights, but as a matter of right, an author is not required to register anything to get the right to use the “circle c,” showing the work is copyrighted.

One of the many terrific things about copyright is that it comes with a host of exclusive rights that allow the owner to do or authorize a number of things and exercise substantial control over his or her work. The copyright owner has the right to do four things (called exclusive rights):

1. Reproduce the copyrighted work; 2. Display the copyrighted work publicly; 3. Prepare derivative works based on the copyrighted work; and 4. Distribute copies of the copyrighted work to the public by sale, rental or lending, and/or to display the image.

Here's the second half of 'You don't know what you are talking about'.

The BOI is a place for discussions related to transactions, buyers and sellers.
Whether there is harm and economic damage depends on what folks think about the situation.
If they think that the error was an innocent mistake, likely it would not affect future purchases. If however, after reviewing the posts made, people feel as if there was a wrong done, then they might not want to deal with the person who did the wrong.

You seem to think that readers here are totally thoughtless and can't think their way through a BOI post. I myself believe that the majority of those who read BOI threads are able to discern after reading the particulars, whether an act was a mere innocent slip or whether more care should have been used in whatever action is being discussed.
The situation may be a matter of continuing discussion, but I believe each reader will make his/her own conclusion; I respect their right to do so, and do not need they require conclusions supplied by you.

Terry is a great guy and its a pleasure to do business with him. I bought one of the best looking super pastels I have seen from him and it was one of the smoothest transactions Ive had. People make simple mistakes everyday, its admitting these mistakes and taking actions to fix them that separates the good guys from the bad, and Terry is a good guy.

Best Regards,
Nolan Mans

To echo Lucille, not only do we need to read the thread started about the person and come to our own conclusion, I also use their prior reputation as well.

I also take who started the thread into account when forming an opinion/conclusion.

I have purchased from Terry, smooth transaction, even converted the python to frozen/Thawed for me while I paid on a payment plan. I will purchase from Terry again.

I think this was a simple mistake that did not warrant this thread.

Point is I take into account both parties. Shadera has a very good rep as well, but I opt not do any business with her based on many of her postings here and in other forums. In no way am I saying she does not hold up her end of the bargain/deal, her reputation speaks for itself in that regard.

I have also done business in the past with Terry and everything went great and wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.

I also see it has an honest mistake that was fixed correctly and timely.

This thread was bothering me, so I decided to post...

I don't think being a disorganized slob is a good excuse for one.
If one makes mistakes of this nature, who knows what other kinds of mistakes are being made: Breeding Records, other pictures where he didn't get caught or no one closely compared their purchase with the picture in the Ad?

He did:

  1. "Make a mistake" (how someone else's animals picture got put in HIS files is another question.
  2. Immediately took down the picture once caught

BUT... he STILL broke the law, even if it was "accidently." Shadera is owed an apology, imo.

Hello Everone ,the post I did with clown picture was just a big mistake on my part .I used the photo out of my file thinking it was mine.In no way was I trying to decieve anyone .I have been on KS since 2003 and have never had any bad rap of any kind .I go out of my way to please everyone . I told Shadera I was very sorry and that I deleted all photo files. I hope everone understands that this was just an error on my part and I am sorry it happened

I believe a mistake happened here and Terry did apologize.

Good lord what more do you wan't. The man came on here admitted he made a mistake and apologized, and you come on here and call him a disorganized slob. That is just not right.

Mr. Maheuron made the unfortunate mistake of wronging a charter member of the Fauna clique. For this he will pay dearly.

You hit the nail on the head, and exactly why I always consider the source on the BOI.

Unfortunately for Terry, blood is in the water.

Mr. Maheuron made the unfortunate mistake of wronging a charter member of the Fauna clique. For this he will pay dearly.

I've gleefully hopped on that particular bandwagon before. I don't think it's the whole story, but it's fairly likely that the timbre of some responses might might look quite different if the OP was an unknown entity.

While I guess that Mr. Maheuron's mistake could be extrapolated out to imply a whole host of other possible scenarios, if one were so inclined, with no one else coming forth to say that they've been wronged, I think that'd be a 'hard'-sell. On the surface, there's nothing to suggest that this was any more than a simple mistake that was subsequently fixed and apologized for. Statistically speaking, a single occurence doesn't equal a trend. It may be a bit early to be getting out the noose.

Warning: how about the off topic discussion regarding a so-called "fauna clique" goes into another forum instead of further derailing this BOI m'kay?

[*]"Make a mistake" (how someone else's animals picture got put in HIS files is another question.

This is not my photo but it ended up in MY files because I thought it was funny.
Stop with the high and mighty attitude.
