• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Glades Herp Farm Inc

Just to keep everyone updated. My tortoise is doing wonderfully and very active! After a few weeks of treating the eye infection, her eyes are fully functional now. Thank you all for all your support. I hope this thread reaches out to people before purchasing from Glades Herps Farm. You do not want to deal with people like them.

I wouldn't buy anything from Glades sight unseen. Either go to their place or see them at a show, this at least puts the odds in your favor. I purchased an adult corn snake and a yearling Eastern Diamondback from them in the early 90's (through the mail). The corn snake threw up everything until it finally died, and the EDB did very well, so my experience has been 50/50.

Having said that, I won't purchase anything over the internet, no matter who it's from. If I can't pick it up at a show, where I can inspect it and determine for myself that it appears to be in reasonable health, I'll just hang on to my money for another show.

If a company is not good enough to buy from over the internet I don't know why on earth you would ever purchase anything from them even in person. I have two categories, buy from or don't buy from.

People from florida have absolutely nothing good to say about them. My personal friend had a huge blow out with them. Bad company all the way around Glades herps.

I am glad your turtle is doing well . Glades Herp is the first place I bought reptiles . I bouht at least twice from them before the internet and I never had a problem what so ever .
Off topic .. those that go to large shows in Florida , do you ever see rare carribean anoles ?

I was acually going to buy my gf a tortois. I made the 1hr trip to glades and im not suprised your turtle had an infection. I wouldnt buy anything from there. I dont think id ever even go back.

I just sent Robroy Macinnes an email requesting that he remove me from all future emailings from his company based on the horrible experiences I've read about here. Wow! Thanks BOI!

After reading this thread, i have to say this thread proves that television shows for our hobby are a good, and bad thing. Glades herp farm Inc. at one time may have had a good reputation in this industry, but due to the small amount fame they have received from they're t.v show. The brothers have let the animals there suffer. I for one will not be doing business with them now or in the future.

Yeah, Glades is not the place you go to if you want customer service. They're a big wholesale gig and the turnover rate on their animals reflects that. I wouldn't buy from them...They make their money from stores and such, when they sell to regular people, the retail price they get is just extra icing on their cake. Buy from somewhere else, somewhere that maybe even cares just a little bit about what you are getting for your money.
