Care to elaborate? Did you happen to pay with a credit or debit card? If so, you have recourse via whatever financial institution issued the card to you.

I paid using paypal and it came out of my checking account thats linked to it. If you could Pm I would appreciate it. I kept asking him for more pictures while the payment was waiting to get cleared and he kept saying he was gonna send them and didnt. So I started feeling really sketchy about the whole thing. Once the payment went through he was asking me why do you want more pics as you already paid for him once I saw the first pics he sent me. He also told me if your not happy with him you can send him back for a refund mind you this was while payment was still in processing. Once the payment cleared I was in the hospital getting my appendix taken out so I didnt talk to him for 3-4 days. When I got out I contacted him andl let him know that I was concerned because he never sent me pics and I also just got out of the hospital and could use the money for my medical bill so I told him I just wanted out of the deal. He texted me that all sales are final. I then was like you already told me if I didnt like him I could get a refund and this was no different other than the fact that we both didnt have to ship an animal back and forth. The next day he told me that he felt bad that I had been sick and that he would give me $700 for my male and female ambilobe pair which I had mentioned to him originally for a possible trade for the Nosy be male. Here are some texts back n forth.

BRIAN: Weeks after u already paid. Ur the one making this deal uncomfortable not me. All cuz u want 2 or 3 more pics of the same cham that u already purchased after I already sent u a few pictures. ( This was his response after I told him I just wanted my money back)

BRIAN: Wen do u want me to ship him? Ur gonna have to sign for him wen he gets there.

ME: If you could ship him tomorrow that would be good so he would get here Tuesday( I just really didnt feel like arguing and just figured I would just take the cham)

BRIAN: I feel bad about the money situation your in and if your interested in a trade if you ship the ambilobe pair tom I will refund you 700 and ship the nosey be.

BRIAN: Ill throw in the extra 50 since its a pair

So u will get them on Friday I would like my cham shipped today as I thought he was getting shipped on Tuesday so he would arrive here today I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to talk about the pair I was shipping to u or I didn't read ur text clearly . Brian please send my cham today once I receive him tomorrow and the PayPal (when I get ur tracking number ) I will send the pair to you. Call me anytime after 11am if u need to talk to me. ( This text was when I really thought about things and the fact that he was calling it a trade but he already had $650 of my money and had not shipped the Nosy be and he wanted me to ship the male and female ambilobe first and wouldnt send me the money till I gave him a tracking number)

ME: I guess the most frustrating thing is every time I sent u a text my phone sends a report back to me on whether u opened my text I don't want to sound crazy but u opened 6 outta 7 texts and u have me lost I hope u sent him and u just have a lot on ur plate but I don't know why I don't deserve a yes or no.

So I still havent gotten any response from him and he has not answered a single phone call for me. This Sucks! This is the first time I have been ripped off on the internet and I guess im always real trusting when dealing with chameleon people.

If you've paid via debit, I believe you have recourse through your bank. Call them immediately.

I actually took the time and read this thread from the beginning.


As a long time keeper of Chams I'm always on the look out for new people to do business with, or avoid.


Looks to me like the "nosey" people of the BoI did their job and caught a scammer. A person using the same photos over time, who claims he's not a flipper but clearly is, insults his customers, dismisses inquiries into his questionable business methods, uses multiple names to sell animals, posts photos that clearly don't represent the subject of the photo accurately, and despite it all just can't admit to any of it.

Now a second person gets nailed? To that person you have recourse in that you file a complaint over your transaction, they will put a hold on his account.

Personally I came to the BoI before buying an animal online some weeks back and it was well worth the effort. In this case the BoI has saved me from ever buying from this individual.

So, to all the "nosey" people here doing the digging..... thanks. I don't post much but I do read quite a bit.

This was done so he could win with Paypal, all they care about is proof of a valid tracking number.
If you paid with a credit card through Paypal, contact your acridity card company. If you paid with your bank account, go to the bank & see what recourse you have in recovering your money.

I hope paypal will look at the situation as a whole he never responded to the dispute or anything. I shouldn't say this but I doubt Brian even looks at this anymore. Brian made the package require a signature well as soon as the postman handed me the box it felt like there was a pebble in it because it was so light. So I knew right then there was nothing in it because it was literally just a box with no insulation foam. The only thing I was thinking this guy put a tarantula or scorpion in it( sounds crazy but I had someone accidentally send me a spider instead of a cham b4) so the guy who delivered it is now interested as well because on top of that he needed me to sign. So he stayed while I opened it on my porch and sure enough there was nothing but a few branches in it. The postman let me take a picture of him along with signing his name and putting his id number down for reference. He wrote Verbatim" James Gloner asked me " his name" to stay while he opened his parcel and when he opened it there was just branches in it nothing else. So I'm really hopeing Brian continues lying because I have a statement from the USPS delivery man with pics and he also left me his cell number if I needed him to talk to anyone. The postman told me this happens a lot and people get mad at him like its his fault so he would be happy to help. Anyway I just want this nightmare over.

While Paypal does not ordinarily get involved in disputes about critters, I believe if the basis of your dispute is not that there was something wrong with the critter or it arrived dead, but it did not arrive at all.
If they close a dispute because a tracking number was provided, in a case where nothing arrived, you can petition them to reopen a closed dispute. They do so rarely, but it is appropriate to make the request when you received no critter at all.

Why keep fighting with PayPal, a company that's generally showed a blatant disregard for problems arising from any purchases made outside of eBay? Have you contacted your bank about taking advantage of whatever buyer protection programs they may have in place?

How about posting the pictures of the box and it's contents, along with a clear view of the shipping label.

Paypal paid me the whole amount back took a little while but they paid me. So i have to say paypal did everything that they advertise so i am all and all pleased. Wish i never had to deal with the situation and since this was the first time i got ripped on the internet

My prior comment however earned me some sort of warning from a mod. I guess calling out a scammer for what he really is gets frowned upon in this establishment. Especially being that he is a repeat offender and nothing seems to deter him from carrying on his deceptive practices on Fauna. Oh well.
