Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I don't expect pics will be posted, there is no question about the dragon having missing toes as both parties discussed this in the email exchanges

Warning: If you are under the impression that paying a $25 Contributor level membership entitles you to then flaunt the rules here and makes you immune to infractions, well, let me clue you in. IT AIN'T SO. You are subject to the rules of this site, and continued violation of those rules will get you infractions and an eventual ban, regardless of how much money you may spend here. You cannot buy your way into being above the rules.

Looks to me that you are on a fast track to getting banned with your attitude here, so I STRONGLY suggest you think real hard about the context of your subsequent postings in this thread.

It wasn't advertised at all, at least from what I gathered throughout this thread. The OP placed a wanted ad that Michael responded to through pm.
If I'm wrong about that then I apologize, but I'm pretty sure that's how the transaction went down.
 
Chazzz you are correct. Ron, we won't know what it was presented as. Neither party will post the pre-sale emails/correspondence.
 
After reading through this whole mess, I'm inclined to be a tad suspicious of both parties, but I think the buyer has behaved in a far more professional manner. The seller is attacking everyone who asks questions and behaving very antagonistic and defensive...that raises a red flag to me.

It also raises a red flag as to why the buyer waited two months to post this...it looks from the email exchanges shown that all communication between buyer and seller occurred quickly after the sale. The only justifiable reason the buyer might have waited this long would be if he just became aware of the BOI, but he joined Fauna over a year ago. NOT a good move on his part to wait this long.

Also, is it just me, or are the pictures the seller posted pretty awful? I would not have paid for an animal in that condition. I know that lizards shed in pieces and it can look pretty messy, but if I were selling that lizard I would have disclosed that he was in shed and offered to send more pictures once the shed was completed. As it stands, those pictures show an animal with (stuck?) shed all over it and are not good for judging condition.

So I think both parties are at fault here. Just my $0.02.

He was aware before this sale. His post history shows he insulted a buyer that posted a BOI on one of his friends and called him a name that I am not allowed to repeat here.

I agree the pictures were horrendous and if the buyer say them previous to purchase he should have had a solid idea of the condition of the animal. Silkies can have issues shedding and often times need some help (extra baths, olive oil, etc.) but it seems this poor guy was left to his own devices.

There was no mention of missing toes, the seller was asked to show pics and emails prior to payment and shipping, he has shown nothing.the pics would have been attached to an email with a date on it.

Shortly after receiving the buyer emailed the seller to complain about the condition of health and missing toes.

I'm not debating that; just agreeing with the above poster that the animal looked to be in poor condition from the pictures the seller shared.

The seller should have sent pictures, the buyer should have had warning bells go off when the seller didn't, but ultimately it is the seller's responsibility to disclose the condition of the animal as accurately as possible which doesn't seem to be the case here.
 
I would like to point out three things.

The open has a track record for sticking up for real losers.

Secondly I really think that Mike should be able to defend himself here.

Finally its quite obvious that Mike can almost count to potato! I mean look how he counts those toes.

Seriously both sides smell real funny in this one.
