I went in to clean today and my 'male' fire was wrapped up around 'his' bowl with that lumpy appearance. I got this guy from a well known breeder in my area when he was about 150 grams. At the time I was not comfortable with popping snakes and since it was labeled and sold as male I never really thought to have it double checked. I can pop and sex hatchlings, but I'm still not very confident in popping the bigger boys.
Do any of your males ever exhibit this behaviour? The snake only weights 800 grams so if it is a girl I don't want her ovulating at this size! Although in my memory this snake has only ever been with my proven female pastel (no lock). I can't remember ever having him in with another male snake. So....I guess I should take it to someone who is good at probing, or put him in with the female pastel a few more times to see if any locks happen.
Cage is 75 at one end and 90 at the other so the snake shouldn't be looking to cool down from normal over heating.

Does "he" seem healthy otherwise? Did your males ever appear to be lumped when wrapped, Jason & Willow?
