The lack of response maybe due to Joe being banned (if he still is), as Joe is the front man (talker) for phr.

There wouldn't be an explanation, just a lot of double talk and run-around. :rolleyes:!
 
Het Highway questions for PHR

I see in you add you sold a pastel het highway at Tinley. Have you ever produced a Highway from these hets. Was one of the parents a Highway?

I'm also confused w/their current ads (PHR.) If a het highway is called a "gravel" why would someone market "het highways" and "gravels" in different ads? Seems they are being marketed as two different genes, instead of the same gene w/two names. I have interest in the gravel gene, but not going to risk anything until more clarity is out there.
 
its as clear as it gets a gravel is a het highway. PHR is just up to the same old antics like they did with NERD a few months ago. Just buy from someone reputable and you will be fine.

I don't think there is any confusion. Het Highway and Gravel are the same thing. PHR is marketing animals that don't look like gravels (het highways). The original person they bought this line from never produced a Highway. He sent me pics of the sub adults he had and I told him they didn't look like my proven adult female. A few months later he texted me and said he had sold two of them for $7000 each. Apparently he is a hell of a salesman.

Oh phr from jacksonville? Me and my buddy Wayne( I'll post his last name when I remember it) went to the Orlando Repticon and purchased an adult possible het pied female. Joe got her from a guy who had no paperwork so he sold it as a possible het. I was there for the whole transaction and when we got home and when checked it out the next day. The snake had mites. We confronted Joe at the Jacksonville Repticon and he denied every bit of it. He said it had to be 1 of the other snakes we got that day. Except those other snakes came from Mike Bell, and only the het pied had mites the day after the show. We will be surprised if this girl turns out to be a het at all. Joe is rude, accepts no responsibility for the animals he sells, and down right a pain in the butt. How does this relate to the het highway/gravel scenario? Dont waste your time looking into it cuz I would never buy from him.

:shrug01::shrug01::shrug01::shrug01::shrug01: Who are you talking about??? Joe Capone from PHR is not from Jacksonville, Neither is Clark Tucker...No where even close! I think you have your vendors mixed up. If you bought animals from Mike Bell, I can guarantee you they are 100% clean and healthy. Regarding PHR. you need to correct your last post as you have them confused with another vendor you bought dirty animals from.

Getting back: ON TOPIC! The last time I talked to Clark from PHR, He told me that he did hatch out a Highway from one of his Het Highways that was dead in the egg and was only about 20 grams. I had asked if he atleast took a picture (even though it was dead) He did not because he had another clutch scheduled to hatch a few days later that later did not produce a Highway.

Clark has never ever told a lie to me, I have no reason to believe he would start now, (1.) Because he is a good close friend and (2.) I am not in the market to purchase a highway or Gravel.
 
Theres a Power House Reptiles who says they are out of Jacksonville. Black banner with big white letters, all employees in black shirts, except Joe, hes wearing something similar to what Steve Irwin would wear and hes really tall. They usually have one of the biggest booths at the Repticons I've been too. I'm pretty certain about the names tho, but I'll look through some pics and see if I can point them out. Highly unlikely but maybe theres 2 Joe's who each run a business called PHR?:shrug01::shrug01: Anyone been Orlando or Jacksonville and seen them too?
 
Cant find many pics but from I've seen I think I did confuse them with another vendor. My apologies Joe and Clark, and sorry to the rest of ya for the misinformation.

As for Mike Bell hes awesome which is why I mentioned him. I knew they werent from his animals.

But to actually add something on topic to this post. If theres any question about genetics Id never think twice. Judging by their own posts about the HGW thing with NERD, I'd have to question their knowledge of their animals.
 
One more thing...

For all of those that are interested in the Highway project but are not 100% sure on spending a little money on a gravel, Bite the bullet now and buy a freakin Highway from Shane!! He has made Highways two years in a row and has a few for sale. The Animal Company just proved out the super Gravel or super Het Highway. This project is on the ground floor with tons of potential! I would rather see Clark hold on to all of the crosses he made this year anyway and cash in big next year when he does cross an Ivory to produce the visual Highway! What would a yearling lesser Het Highway be worth???
 
Gravels

I see PHR is now blowing out animals at great pricing. Is this because of the recent rumors they are closing the doors. How does that genetic guarantee work if you are no longer in business. I guess that isn't much of a guarantee after all. They have said they have sold the genetic Gravels, I hope that person got a good deal on them.

Figured I would bump this up because they look like they are getting pretty desperate to unload these unproven hets. I can send pics of a proven Het Highway (Gravel) to anyone interested in the project. You can then compare for yourself.

I think one thing that confuses a lot of people is that the gravel is a het hiway, but has a super. It is a co-Dom. The yb super is a completely different snake from the yb, unlike say a pastel to a super pastel. Another way and look at it is how sometimes a spider to a calico can make a snake that amplifies both traits and looks like something completely different (high white sides with yellow and very little lining on top). The champagne destroys many patterns but accepts some color, but look what it does with a gravel.......kinda hiwayish?! If you look at a spark, they are making a bunch of different combos now which shows it to be a co-Dom but still being referred to as a het for puma. They are the unlocking gene to the dramatic results that we know and love.
