• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy A Lesson to Learn From Buying From John Richardson (Bird's Reptile Shop)

Dear Andrew Fotheringham,

Now that you've opened a PayPal dispute, we'd like to offer a couple pointers to make this process as easy as possible.

1. You'll find useful tools to answer most questions at the Resolution Center, including the Dispute Tutorial for Buyers that covers: How to negotiate a resolution. How to close a resolved dispute. 2. Don't let disputes get out of hand. Keep in mind: Many disputes result from basic misunderstandings. Start by giving the seller the benefit of the doubt. Make it clear to the seller that you see the situation as resolvable.

I did find some amusement in this email from PayPal.

1 this dispute is already out of hand. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be a dispute

2 basic misunderstanding...... I would say so!!!! Somebody misunderstood that when a customer pays for goods or a service its up to them to deliver!

3 benefit of the doubt....... Been there done that ...... FOR THE LAST MONTH!!!!!!!

4 resolvable....... I sure do see a resolution, give me my money back!!!!!!!

What a joke

Hi,
I just had a bad transaction with Mr. John Richardson. He has scammed me for over $500 promising some venomous animals he had available. He had me prepay on Paypal as a gift for the snakes and I was going to pick them up instead of shipping. Well now he will not respond to email and his phone number does not work. I have no way to pick them up. Since I paid as a gift on Paypal,(which he insisted on) they will not open a dispute for me, and get my money back. Beware, do not send money as a gift for payment to allow the seller to avoid fees. You give up your protection from Paypal that way. I am now hoping the credit card company can help me out. Do not buy from this guy. He is a compete fraud.

I just talked to the "real" John Richardson again today. He said he was putting my refund in the mail as we spoke. He also informed me he that the person that was operating his biz and scamming people under his name was Joe Hughes.

Here is John's number for those that need to contact him: 757 478 1648

Is it a money order that he is sending?

I really hope it is in the mail, sometimes that phrase is classic scammer stall trick lingo. Keep us posted Ryan.

Yes it is a money order. I've heard the "check's in the mail" line more times that I can count and it never arrived however I am inclined to believe him as he was on the phone with me at the post office while he was purchasing it. I could over hear the clerk in the background.

I was pretty aggressive with John insisting on this refund, maybe a little too aggressive but when I get ripped off I can be a bit vindictive until the situation is resolved. I'm no one's doormat and will fight back tooth and nail if I have to on shady deals. Others have felt my "wrath" in the past. lol

I have an update with my PayPal claim. John did not respond to them and they ruled in my favor. I am getting a full refund.

I paid with a credit card through my PayPal. Will it be credited back to the card or just to PayPal? Once they rule in your favor how long does it take to receive your money?

It will just be credited back to your paypal account and the one time that I had to file a dispute it was put back into my account as soon as I got the message that it was in my favor.

In the recent activity it shows were i originally made the purchase and then it shows the refund that was done today. It says it was refunded to my credit card. It also says my PayPal balance is zero. When I check my checking account balance its not showing up there either. If I got a refund I don't understand were the money went.

Refunds to bank cards/accounts usually take a couple days to process.

+1 on this. Since it is tied to a checking account, it should be a day or two before you see that it is pending, and usually by the 2-3 business day mark that is has cleared and all yours. Banks like cash...they get to invest it for a short period of time to make a few pennies off of it before giving it to you.
