All she did was voice a suspicion that you are the same person that Laura/Artie is. I don't blame her one bit, because you share the complete immaturity and petty vindictiveness of your friends.

If your definition of inappropriate is somebody casting doubt over the validity of your word, then that is YOUR issue, not theirs. I can guarantee you that it wouldn't hold up as a defense for stalking her, if the police contact you about this.

She had every right to make those statements, and they were in NO WAY inappropriate.

And for the record, you harassing her over this has not helped your friend Artie one bit. In fact, you've done a lot more damage than you realize. Artie and Laura can and will be judged by the actions of their friends with regards to this, and you have proven yourself to be somebody that any sane person would avoid like the plague.

With defenders like you, they sure don't need enemies.

The post you referenced, which I quoted above, was not in an official capacity - it was an observation from a long time participant (me)...so I wasn't "stepping in" in the way you seem to think.
As far as apologies being in order, I think your response far exceeded any "offense" Amanda, and that you certainly overstepped the bounds of reasonable behavior..meaning you should be apologizing to her. (Again, so there is no question, this post is the opinion of a longtime member of this site; and should not be confused as that of an official statement by a moderator)

It's funny that you'd say that. You should probably give New York Public Authorities department a call and report Arthur G Davidson - Long Island RR for all of his recent online threats.

Since you just happen to be such close friends with Artie, maybe you could also chastise him in person for his involvement in the illegal underground Texas Hold 'Em scene. I mean, since you'd have us believe that propriety and high moral fiber are among your many virtues, it's pretty odd that you'd associate yourself with someone who committed such shameful acts as an employee of the great state of New York.

Why on Earth would you be so willing to go above and beyond to try and help give him a glowing referral? When bad guys get stand alone great recommendations from a single person, naturally the whole board screams "fake!". 9 times out of 10 the bad guy in question has gotten his buddy to post how wonderful they are. Most regulars can smell that right away and do jump on that. If you don't want to open yourself to possible critique, get the heck off the Internet.

IMHO, a person with nothing to hide wouldn't call a near anonymous person at their workplace and do what you did. That's truly messed up. I hope she doesn't have an overprotective husband. The fact that you did call her workplace and instill fear (no matter how remote) is positively horrible of you. And I don't care if you were justly due an apology (which you aren't) your actions make you slime.

Well, since you and your husband have become so interested in digging for someone else's dirty laundry, it'd be a pretty hard sell to convince anyone that your own yellow-stained sheets have no place here. And, since your friend James is suddenly so interested in standing up for what's right, I just couldn't help making note of the ridiculous irony of the situation.

You/Artie have shown a blithe willingness to not let legality stand in the way of your pursuit of profit. As it pertains to your general business ethics, I'm of the opinion that what I posted is at least as relevant as your little burm fiasco. When someone has shown a "by any means necessary" approach to coming out on top, potential trading partners may appreciate knowing it. Perhaps you shouldn't be rooting through someone else's closet when your own skeletons are falling out of yours.

Considering your husband's position, I just couldn't help pointing out the inherent hypocrisy and idiocy behind that particular stance. It goes hand-in-hand with the hypocrisy behind getting pissy over your own dirt being exposed, after having solicited the BOI for dirt on someone else. However, I can almost picture the blank expression on your face as my words pass unobstructed through that void between your ears, so I won't waste any more time explaining that which you're unable to grasp. Expressing myself monosyllabically has never been one of my strong suits.

Just sayin....I've known James for over 4yrs, he's a close friend & I've met Artie at the Hamburg show in the spring...both are good guys. Personally I think if you haven't done business with OR met someone in person for yourself, you shouldn't be allowed to comment on a BOI thread. These threads are permanent & can tarnish a reputation because people are nosey & feel like commenting because they're bored at work. (General statement).

It's unfortunate that the BOI which can be a great tool, is going to crap because random people get involved. If you have nothing factual to contribute, leave it alone...no one cares about opinions....we're only interested in the facts.

This doesn't really seem like moderating, but more or less pot stirring. As a moderator, don't you enforce the rules, not make public suggestions? Being suggestive would make others question your authority/ position.

Emphasising "THAT" & saying it "doesn't surprise" you. Almost sounds personal. If it is, the professional thing to do would to be to recuse yourself from this thread.
