In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Long story short I did tons of rresearch and everything I read was to get a repribreeze. But checked out UG this past Friday and was sold $400 worth for my veiled that I was picking up this weekend. After I went to get it the guy I met told me not to put in a glass enclosure and ended up selling me the chameleon with a repribreeze container etc. So today I tried returning the terrarium, thick grape vine and bag of bark. Kept all the lighting and cricket accessories and leaf vine.

Basically was told all returns are final and try calling later to speak with the owner. Meaning Ihave to drive nback from Lauderdale. I explained to them that the terrarium is still in my back seat from Friday when they loaded it, didn't matter no refunds.

Two issues here, do they want to lose a customer over this? Also it seems they sold me the wrong setup from the start. Hopefully they will make this right.

Not at all, I want the best for my chameleon. If that was the case I would try and return everything but I'd like tp keep all the stuff I feel is best for him. From my original research and seeing how others keep chameleons, I see open air screened cages over and over. I think I am being fair with this, but to each their own.

So did you buy all that based on what someone there told you? Then you went to pick it up and were told that you didn't buy the right things? Just trying to understand better.

Yes when I got to UG, was told the glass terrarium is good for a chameleon, and to put bark on the bottom with a nice big vine, it's about 6-8 inches in diameter. Fast forward to picking up mine down in Kendall. The gentleman had about 10 adults and showed me his setups. He advised from the glass container for many reasons and said I need thinner branches for him to wrap his feet around. Also that bark isn't good because sometimes when they eat crickets they will get a piece of bark as well. Considering all he delt him was chameleon's and I read lots of the same stuff over at chameleonforum, I realized some of the stuff I was sold was incorrect. I really didn't think this would be a big deal to return since it seemed like it was not the perfect solution for this time of reptile.

I didn't get the chameleon from UG

I was told about the no refund policy today after I went back, either way if I was sold the wrong setup you would think they would do the right thing. Guess customer service now a a days isn't like it used to be.

Nothing so far, I was told I would hear from the owner but haven't yet. Plus the way they handled it so far why would I want to go back and buy from them.

If it was me, I would refund, but they can use their tos which says no returns. They don't have the best reputation here.

I emailed them via facebook and after I posted this they messaged me this

"UNDERGROUND REPTILES
So let me understand this. Rather than talking to the owner you decide to post a negative thread about us on Fauna Classifieds. Really?"

"Gregory Bentz
Yea because the whole situation is ridiculous. I'm sure something could have been done while I was at your location, instead I had to drive back to Lauderdale. One guy said 4 you said 2. I don't have time for the run around."

There is nothing wrong with glass aquaria for veiled chameleons. Anyone who disagrees can check my breeding and hatching records. This is another in a list of persistent rumors in our industry. All that to say, feel free to complain about no return policy, but I don't think it is appropriate to say they sold you a bad setup.

When did you make the initial purchase with underground?

I was told by posting here I got my justice and don't deserve anything else from UG, I was at ahhh when he said that.

I would agree. You gave it 2 days, a little impatient. Maybe next time, do your research first and it wouldn't hurt to read some reviews on the company your purchasing from and there TOS. Seems like you jumped the gun here. Just my 2 cents.

Before anyone thinks I am defending underground, I am not. I would never purchase anything from them. Just stating that the OP was impatient.

I understand and yes I did my research on the correct housing but after I got there I figured they would know best. Basically I am stuck with about $220 of stuff I don't need now. He basically told me the mesh cage wouldn't create enough humidity for the chameleon and the chameleon has to have substrate in his cage. Funny because everything I see on chameleon forums says the complete opposite.
