In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

DNJ REPTILES in Amityville NY... Disgusting Store animals in Poor Health!

I think every one has great ideas but it kinda shows people don't read the whole thread. The mods have asked 3 times on where these post should be but people keep either ignoring them or just don't read the whole thing.

Obviously the OP has ducked out. Speaks volumes for me. even my crappy non-smart phone takes pictures so if he was that distressed, it wouldn't have been too hard to take a few.

And Dennis, my apologies, I hadn't seen your warnings, was getting tea for a very demanding four year old and there were over a page of new posts when I finally finished my last one.

I have previously stated that we feel that the burden of proof falls with the one who made the accusations. Since he is nowhere to be found I will post some pics of the shop to prove once and for all that D&J has nothing to hide. If someone will be kind enough to instruct me in how to upload photos on here (I'm not the most computer savvy) then pics will soon follow

That would be awesome Josh. I think it can only do good things for your business, not only in quashing the bogus claims of uncleanliness but also in provoking interest in herpers that haven't been to your newest location.

If I were in Yank territory, I would probably come by and spend some bucks.

By the way just so everyone involved with this thread is aware there is no Jeff oconner. His real name is John Siebert and he does not live in NJ he lives in glen cove NY. Until this last incident that got him permanently from the store he was a regular customer at the store. He had my personal number which he totally abused calling me at all hours of the night and I even went so far as to on multiple occasions go to his home to check on his animals and setups. Truth be told myself a d the rest of the staff had always been more then nice to John or "Mr. Oconner" LOL giving him deals on animals, free treatment for the reptiles that he bought at shown and online that were far beyond his very limited capilbilities, and solid advice whenever it was needed. This is a case of a spoiled little boy throwing a tantrum in public when he doesn't get his way. Shame on you John or Jeff or whoever you are choosing to call yourself at the moment. Why not man up, grow up and put this little tantrum of yours to bed

To post them you'd just need to cluck the little icon that kinda looks like a mountain and paste the URL once you've uploaded them to an image hosting service like Photobucket or imgur.

I need to do it from a computer. Ill b at one at around 9pm. Check back then as I have been making all of these posts from my phone

Sorry to hear about the false claims on your store. I am eager to see pictures of how your store really looks.

They were. Forces out by the town of oyster bay the had made it illegal to own snakes in the town ship where they were located.

I haven't read all the comments. I'm just posting my experience with dnj. Nothing but great service. Great conversation as to educate on care. Seeing them with their loyal custies. I'm fairly critical of shops and breeders. Their shop is just fine. Before I moved to Florida I bought my male jcp. I know I never see poop in tanks. Clean water. Doug....is the first to join a conversation and school people who need to know. Visually. Clean store. Customer service. Damn good. You.....sound confused. In my own opinion. Ill say one thing though. The boys in that store will not stand for rudeness or arrogance. Good luck. People who know the boys will speak up.

Stavros. I actually miss that store.

You should have at least read the previous post where I posted a picture of a dirty water dish in a monitor cage, poop in a lot of cages, a large sulcata tortoise crammed into a small tortoise house, bearded dragons and uromastyx being housed together with no visual lighting, baby tortoises priced and ready to go... yet you say right after a post that illustrates that that there s never poop in tanks and clean water...

Forgot to mention... most of the water dishes look like this one. Also, Josh, can you post a picture of the diamond python that you have on display that looks like it's about to drop dead?

In their defense, I change my turtles water, and within 10 minutes of him having an immaculate tank, he likes to christen the water. They have MANY tanks, and by the time you start on one end and get to the next, the first set are already dirty. They are reptiles, and unfortunately they don't clean up after themselves. Any time I have been in their store, they were always willing to help. Done many sales/trades with them and was never "disgusted" with any setup. This is the glory about owning/breeding. You get to clean up after them nonstop.

TBH most of these pics are too small to see any real detail. For example, the tortoise pic shows what looks like only a section of a hutch type thing, so it's really hard to see how big the whole thing is. The only thing in those pics that vaguely concerns me is the snakes in the stacked critter keepers that don't seem to have hides. I know people don't use them in racks all the time but these have exposed sides, so I wonder if that isn't a little stressful? Though as far as I can remember, those guys are in a separate heated room of the store behind glass where people can't just mess with them freely.
