In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy BEWARE OF BUYING FROM REPTILEUV.COM!!

Nothing new,i heard other people had issues with them

as one stated reptisun 10.0 uvb

now arcadia is also for sale in the usa by light your reptiles which is a tad better so i would just stick with the above listed

My best advice to all who haven't received a re-fund is to call the local District Attorneys office of where ReptileUV is located. Maybe that will spark a fire under their ass.

Sent a website contact form again last week. Still no contact. Do not buy from this company!

It has now been ten months. How is that for customer service? So much for refocusing on getting the business back off the ground.

Well, out of the blue they contacted me and said they would take care of it. This evening, after eleven months of repeated attempts to reach them through their website, email and full voicemail, they refunded me my money. I didn't think I would ever see that $200 again.

If they owe you money, contact them. They may have just turned a corner.

Just checkled my Paypal account. Of course they did not gross up the refund to include fees. So, I received a refund short by $6.33. Guess that is better than getting nothing. Lesson learned. Never use a debit card with Paypal. At least with a credit card you can dispute the charges.

I ordered a Mega-Ray SB 100 back in March 14, 2011 using a debit card through paypal. I am still waiting for my refund. Of course, a response/reply from them would be nice as I've contacted them (again) several days ago.

a little off topic.
you can use self ballasted mercury vapor bulbs ! I raised and bred bearded dragons for about 7 years using these bulbs.(not frosted though) clear glass and most are. They put out a lot of uvb and only cost about $6 each plus shipping.
I never had any health issues with babies or adults. None.Read about mercury vapor and the amount of uvb it does produced. I learned it from a friend who got me into bearded dragons over 10 years ago.
Heres the link - http://www.1000bulbs.com/category/mercury-vapor-lamps/

After seeing the updates on the site that more bulbs were manufactured and being shipped, I took a chance and ordered a couple as a test run to see how long it would take and the bulb quality.

Shipping turn around time was pretty quick (within a week of ordering) and so far, the bulbs have held up. If they fail, I will follow up, but it seems from this experience, they're heading in the right direction.

I have bought numerous bulbs from Reptile UV - absolutely no problems. They have even replaced multiple bulbs of mine that were out of warranty. If you don't think their bulbs are superiors to others on the market, I recommend you purchase a Solar Meter (as I did) and test them yourself. That should clear up any questions of their integrity.

Kind of old thread but I've been waiting for close to 2 months now for my 100 watt mega ray bulb. I've called Cara probably around 5 times now and each time she tells me she will let Bob know so he can expedite my order. Yet I still have seen nothing. A couple times I've heard stuff like FedEx canceled his shipping privileges or something like that and that their bulbs coating was messed up. Last time I called last week, she left me a message saying it should ship Wednesday 10/0/13 yet nothing. The last time I called on Monday 10/14/13 I never even got a return call back after leaving a message. Anyone else experience problems like this? I understand there are problems but 2+ months to ship a product? Might be good light bulbs but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Well, looks like it finally shipped. I got an email from Paypal so let's hope it arrives in 1 piece since it's being shipped via USPS.

Well, new update. I just got an email from Paypal saying that ReptileUV aka mega Ray bulbs has cancelled my shipping label for the bulb they "supposedly" sent out Friday because the Postage was destroyed. I'm really beginning to think this place is just a scam.....

Did you pay with Paypal? Perhaps the additional delay was to get past their 45 day window, after which you cannot initiate a dispute?
If you paid through Paypal using a credit card, call your credit card company.

Thanks Lucille. Yes I was thinking that too about them just giving me excuses to buy them time till the 45 day dispute limit. Unfortunately, I paid through bank transfer on Paypal so not sure what I can do there. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and if I get another message, i'll give them 2 days to respond before I try and file a complaint with their states attorney general. I'm actually kind of scared to use their bulb if I did get it considering how much trouble it is to just get it shipped, I can't even imagine the trouble and questionable method of making it. I should have just gotten a Powersun bulb locally.

While I agree that their customer service and turnaround is pretty atrocious, the bolded is just pure conjecture. I've used plenty of their bulbs and never had an issue and they outlast powersuns by months.

John,

If you think as I do, that the delay might possibly be deliberate, consider going ahead and sending Paypal a link to this thread with a request that they give you a variance and open a case.

Well Lucille, I tried to open a dispute but it says this is too old to dispute so can't even send them a link to this page. I'm wondering if i'm better off just filing a complaint with their cities BBB or maybe the Attorney General.

Go to their site. Way at the bottom in tiny print you will see the word 'contact', click on that. You will be given the option of calling or emailing, choose the email. If a menu comes up, avoid any choices where they might tell you to open a dispute, always choose 'other'. Finally, you will be able to email them and include a link and your request.
