    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This Is Jereme trying to hide behind TOS instead of defending himself legally actually. Refusing a package is a legitimate way of changing your mind on an order legally, live animal or not. Retailers all operate that way. The "refused to accept the shipment" part seems like a thought out defense. Earlier he uses the term "changed his mind" indicating John changed his mind before the snakes were shipped from the rescue. This goes along with John's account. Don't know if you're a friend of Jereme or something but he has no out here. He doesn't have the snakes to send John even if he DID want them and he refuses to send a refund. Again Theft.
 
Dave i agree with you completely from a personal standpoint. And, i want to make it clear that the whole situation is messed up.

But, I still doubt a court would side with John. I can not see a judge agreeing that the snakes lost value, as they were offered to be shipped back living. It is a civil not criminal matter. And a damned if you do situation for John.

I am not interested in fighting with anyone. Emotional matters and legal matters just are rarely on the same page.

Like you, Howard, I was never interested in starting a debate here - and said that from the start. What I have maintained, however, is whether or not Jereme James (Heronboy) has proven himself as someone with whom others would want to invest their money. From merely an ethical standpoint, I don't know anyone who would like to spend money with a guy who would rather take someone's money than to make right on situation where he is overwhelmingly viewed as being in the wrong.

I agree with you completely. I do not believe in stealing from anyone. Nor, do i approve of the tactics that were used.

And, in no way am i sticking up for the guy who wronged you. I think i have been clear in that. In fact that was the only reason i answered a few posts that were not from you. No one likes being where you are at. And, I am sorry for the way things worked out. I hope you were able to read my posts and realize they were not in anyway being negative towards you. You have always been more than polite to me. And, that means more than any snake sale to me period.

Regardless of how we got here, the fact remains that John does not have his animals or his money. Even if John refused the shipment, he would be owed a refund. There's no law or loophole that lets a seller walk away with $4500 just because the buyer didn't accept the package.
 
Missed the first long thread.Agree wholeheartedly with several of you all.I find it difficult to believe this would be a factor if not for such a large sum of money.Also, I recently read the. Damon Heyman thread and he too had positive feedback(albiet not a lot at the end) He too had an ego the size of a small state,as a few other recent names on BOI threads.If he is the same person,as the attempted smaggler then a felony theft while on probation will indeed be of interest to someone in law enforement.Bottom line,OP doesn't have culpability in this.The money is spend for this is theft and someone with a record surely should NOT want the atthorities finding out about this.Also folks if this ISN'T the smuggler,I should think he would be proclaiming his innocence already.Battle of wills my foot,the money is gone.Makes no sense a person should have to 'settle on the sellers" terms.He never took possession of the snakes.Once again,it is very easy to be a good guy when things go right.The true example of a great seller is how they behave when all is NOT smooth sailing.
 
I truly don't think Jereme cares about what people think here.I understand there have been some good transactions but as Laura said,it seems a pattern of some people to attain a following and then slowly but surely their true colors explode.Also in the smuggling case,it sounds like a plea bargain took place.I mean how did baby iguanas get inside a person's leg and they not be aware of it.Richie's thoughts are mine too,if I do NOT hear from a person about their bird,my end of the transaction isn't complete.Also as Robert states,this thread is slowly bringing much more to light.Really stupid Jereme.

John I implore you as well,take action! I can bet the farm(literally),he has been skirtting with dishonesty for a good while. It took 6 years for the iguana incident to be settled.Still can't figure that one out.How can you not know you have an animal(s) on your person? John,I understand this kind of stuff is stressful,but please don't cave.
 
Surely John isn't planning on just letting Jereme keep his money? I mean, I don't think I read that anywhere. That's a lot of money, and getting the law involved would pretty much be a guarantee of getting it back. There are A LOT of options for John right now in pursuing this. :confused:

While I cannot post the specific details of what I am doing, I have no intentions of just allowing Jereme James (Heronboy) to walk away with my money as though nothing happened. I agree I was ripped off - it's theft plain and simple.
