In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Bad Experience with Carson Phelps of Herps Etc

I can answer that, seeing as I know his name from the corn snake forums, and he was known for having tequila sunrise projects for the last few years. He does breed corns.
To be honest, I kind of felt that was a flawed question to focus on as well, though. A guy in south Florida could aim for November hatchlings, I suppose. It isn't common, but it could happen. From my perspective, the most fishy part of this whole thing was your laid back attitude about being ripped off. I'm just one guy on the Internet, but a Bad Guy thread for Steve Miles would go... miles.
I don't breed corns. The question wasn't flawed. There was an ulterior motive for the inquiry. In any case, I think he has incriminated himself enough with his antics and his silence.

I spoke with Carson today and he should be wiring the money in the morning. Which is what I wanted. I will be sure to let everyone know once it is in. I appreciate everyone's input and am glad this is near the end.
Thanks- Guy

Glad to here it! Cool name you have,by the way!:D

Guys! Guys... cool it. lol (Sorry I had to)

I sure hope Carson makes good. I hope 'guyiv' notifies us as soon as he gets paid this morning.

2nd question
I was basing the 1 year for the breeding season and eggs hatching of the balls
And the time frame on the agreement

The agreement was after the scaleless corns was a no go

The I would give the OP spark ball morph and some co don het ultramel balls

Neither balls breed last season but are breeding now this season

So we came up with banana etc etc which I have here and are ready to go

I received a phone call today and sold the banana for a chunk of cash and called the OP and said the money on its way no snakes

Which ill wire in the am

How much is a "chunk of cash"?

The money was sent through Western Union but then refunded to Carson around 10 am EST according to Western Union for security reasons, because of the amount they were concerned with fraud. Just my luck. Spoke with Carson and he is overnighting a cashiers check for a Saturday delivery.

Once this is complete I will let everyone know. Thanks.

They were concerned with fraud AFTER they took his cash and sent it? What type of fraud were they concerned about? He could have overnighted you a postal money order today for tomorrow delivery. How much did he send? 3 grand or a chunk?

Also, if they suspected fraud why did they release the money back to him? Did they suspect fraud on your end or his? Sorry for the grilling Guy, but that just seems odd.

Irrelevant to the story but for clarifications sake I think you have your Pennsylvanian Chris's confused, Chip ;)...and fwiw I do know a few corn snake keepers that breed them year round.

Chris, it's not grilling easy too answer. The Western Union operator told me they did accept Carson's money but stopped the transaction because of potential fraud, since it was such a large amount. They could not give a good explanation as to why it was stopped/refunded. I told Carson to send it Western Union and I'll pay the fee, it was the $3000 minus the fees. The sender is the only one they can release it too if they suspect it is a possible fraud. I would expect they suspected fraud on my end since they accepted the money.

Thanks guy. That was not an accusatory question. Curiosity. Never heard of that before.

Minus the fees? Ugh. Need I say more?

Very nice

Well first off
I was doing guy a favor on getting him scaleless cornsnakes which was my fault on trying to help him out
I was burned for the cash he sent me

So to make things rite

We made a virble agreement via phone a month or so ago that I would ship him a banana male
I asked guy if he wanted it now or after it had a few meals

He stated lets wait til he feeds

The banana has eaten once so far
And I haven't heard from guy lately
I have his snake no problem

Carson. At least you hopefully learned one lesson here. If not, here goes. Taking three thousand bucks from someone for merchandise is NOT A FAVOR! Paying for Western Union out of the money you owe him IS A FAVOR! And a huge one at that. Guy=good guy. Carson=Not

Sooo I just noticed via the above quote from Carson that Chris posted where he asked Guy if he wanted to wait until the banana had a few meals. Carson said he made a virble (sic) agreement about a month ago and it has had one meal. I was under the impression this was a hatchling. I thought they ate about every 7-10 days? If I am wrong someone correct me but it sounds like this hatchling snake has been fed one time in about a month.

That was Carson's first post in this thread that I just posted.

Depending on the hatchlings hatch date, this could be realistic. Balls can take up to a month to eat, some take even longer. After they start eating, it is of my opinion they should be offered meals every 3-5 days depending on their size and tapered to every 5-7 days.

I personally do not have a horse in this race but one thing that caught my eye is on post 89 from Carson he explains Mr Miles contacted him and offered some scaleless corn and provided pictures everything seemed on the up and up so he sent the money.

But on post 100 from Guy, Guy states that He sent Carson the money in Feb since Carson scaleless guy (Mr. Miles) was cutting a deal because the payment was prior to eggs being laid.

So is did Carson tell Guy in the beginning he had a scaleless corn breeder that would give a deal if you paid prior to eggs even being laid? But Carson stated he was contacted out of the blue from Mr. Miles and Mr. Miles had the scaleless corns ready and sent pics and Carson felt he was on the up and up.

I hope this is all over for all parties but I was just curious after reading the entire thread this stuck out to me.

I know I should have

I was just trying to seal the deal for guy
He was really stoked about scaleless corns and I was stoked that I could get them for him

So it was done really quick

I received pix if the scaleless corns and everything

Didn't think it was shady at all

It was my bad

After that deal
I told myself never again
It's was a costly lesson learned
