• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy BEWARE "IguanaMan" OR "Mark*Jagger"

I actually would have perferred that you opened and inspected them on the spot at the airport..however, in the interest of the delicate nature of the tortoises, and me not knowing the conditions at the airport (cold, etc), I opted for you to get them home IMMEDIATELY and let me know how they arrived. Why it took you 2.5 hours for a 70 minute drive is anyones guess..

keep trying your liar story Mark , i will upload pictures now , let's see what is the 2.5 hours that you said ?
people will see more on your liar face

dont trying to find anything else to illuminate for yourself . all pictures , all message , all evidence are showed up your face.
i hope that money will be a big christmas gift for your business and you

5pm is rush hour here in new york hes lucky the trip only took him two hours.
I live a similar distance from the airport and its taken me 3+ hours in traffic.

I can understand you only have a live arrival policy but when an animal is received sick you can not expect to have no responsibility.
this was immediately brought to your attention and you just brushed it off.

both of you could of had better communication with the sick animal ,you asking for updates or him letting you know how its doing (maybe it could of been saved)

786-286-6877 is Mark's phone number?

Mark, do you know Tom Mendelson AKA Fauna user IndoHerp?

i don't have a lot of time, but this is from the Strictly Reptiles thread and I asked about it there:

Hello..I do alot of cherry picking (live reptile orders) for several customers here in Florida (miami, Ft. lauderdale) USA.
If you want, i can cherry pick for you also at Strictly, 2amigos, Emerald coral, etc. I charge 15% of your total purchase ..For example a $1000 order, I charge $150. and you get the best looking, healthiest animals. Let me know if you are interested. My name is Tom.
email me at: [email protected], or [email protected]
Thank you.

Even if you were quoting someone else, Mark, I am confused about this part:

Just took a screen shot, Rob :)

My policy of Live Arrival Only stands..and for good reason. This may seem obvious to some of you out there, but obviously not ALL of you..Once any given animal is out of the sellers care and into the hands of another, a myriad of scenarios can happen. It's far too risky to guarantee the customer will take proper care of the animal. In the case of Tuan, I refunded his money for the alleged DOA Impressa. Done. The other 7 were alive, not just upon arrival, but during the 2.5 hours between the time he picked up the shippment at the airport and the time he got home. Was the vehicle in which he was transporting the tortoises heated to a suitable temp? Nobody knows except Tuan. Did he stop anywhere on his way back home? Nobody knows. A thousand things could have happened that we just don't know for certain. That's the point. Too many X factors. Hence my Live Arrival Only guarantee. Were they all alive upon arrival at LaGuardia? NOBODY KNOWS. Did 1 die on the way back to his home? Again, NOBODY KNOWS. Did his car break down on the trip home? Did he get a call from someone and make a detour? The list is endless of what actually happened, and what he says happened. I honored my guarantee and refunded his $ for the DOA. My responsibility ended there. MTJ

You said the tortoises were packed in insulated boxes, with 40 hour heat packs. The weather in NY was in the high 30s, he could have had those torts in the car for 10 hours, and live healthy animals would have been fine. Don't say such ridiculous things.

'Here you go, here's a sick tortoise that I charged full price for...it can't open its eyes, and his legs are limp...but good luck with him. I have my money now, but if you soak him in warm water he might actually open his eyes' sounds like a pretty normal sale to me. Give the dude a healthy tortoise, in replacement of the sick one you sent him...knowing full well it was sick when you sent it.

I inquired privately at the time of that post...and his response was that his middle name is Tom (hence, the addition of MTJ to his posts). However, with the the screenshot Laura just posted - which ties the two accounts - I feel that my earlier suspicions are confirmed.
IguanaMan - you have a PM that requires your attention.

Having some decent experience with Impressa, I can attest to the fact that you can have what looks to be a healthy, bright eyed, active animal in one hour; and a dehydrated, emaciated dead animal the next. It goes with the territory, and anyone into Impressa should know that. Anyone who receives Impressa should start fluid therapy the second they see those animals. It can't wait until you get home. These Tortoises dehydrate quicker than any other Reptile I've come across, and the damage is done very quickly. I hand picked animals out of the same shipment, and they are doing very well. However, you have to have the needed resources and experience with this species to even have a glimmer of hope with them. They are not for 99% of Reptile/Tortoise keepers.

I'm not arguing either side, just relaying some needed information. These Tortoises should not have been shipped until they were stabilized, or had IV hydration before they were shipped....

There's no doubt in my mind that both accounts are linked, even if you didn't have the blatant evidence provided. Three things stand out - all caps for most of the ads, not providing pictures for anything, and the same writing style. Look at how he signs the ads:

From the anaconda ad: DO NOT MESSAGE ME HERE ON FC..SEND ME AN E-MAIL AT THE ADDRESS SHOWN BELOW

From Indoherp's visitor messages: PLEASE DO NOT MESSAGE ME HERE ON FC..SEND ANY REQUESTS TO MY E-MAIL.
ULARMALAM@YAHOO,COM THANX

Also, see attached screenshot for more icing that corroborates LauraB's post.

At the very least, a violation of the rules. Likely more. Good luck folks, and OP, I hope your turtles do well. Thank you for making everyone aware.

If you think IguanaMan is Dan Scolaro, dig up some PROOF. Otherwise, there isn't much point in continuing to repeat it. (Yes, there are some similarities; but I'd say IgMan lacks Dan's flair)

BTW, contrary to your earlier post, Scolaro is not (at this time) banned)
