This was a facebook transaction, but I do check the site here frequently to research sellers. Nothing came up on this person, so I decided to put the word out.
BigBoyz Lizards/Cleve McGee had posted an ad on 7/5 for a LTC red phase female Uromastyx geryi on facebook. I was impressed with the animal pictured, so contacted him. I had been looking for a nice female to match up with my male, but was getting ready to head out on vacation and didn't want to add more work to my house-sitter, plus I prefer to be home when any new animals arrive. I offered to pay in full, if she could be held until I returned from my trip in August. Upon return, I messaged the seller, waited until after the weekend and when I checked for messages on Monday, I realized that he had either left facebook or unfriended me - I was no longer able to send messages. I sent a message to the e-mail address provided for the PayPal transaction - again no reply. I then filed a claim with PayPal, it did show that he had printed a shipping label, but clicking on the tracking number in it gave the result of "no record found", as the animal was never shipped. PayPal initially declined to do anything, as they don't cover reptiles/live animals. I did file an appeal, since the animal was never shipped and was finally able to get my money back.
Attached is the facebook conversation and the picture used in the ad.
