In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Inquiry DragonXChange posting under bearded dragons can anyone vouch for him?

I personally wouldn't give this guy the time of day. I mean seriously, just look at this ad.. "what? $95 adult Yella blue bar male RTB awesome big man" That particular dragon needs a lot of TLC. Red flag! I also have a hard time taking anyone serious that has as many grammatical errors in his ad as this guy. :NoNo:

I agree with David! The male looks horrible, but also looks familiar, as does the female they have up for sale.

Also the fact that they say that they're willing to ship USPS if the buyer prefers...HUGE RED FLAG! Along with the fact that they don't say that they're certified to ship through the other carriers.

I found the following when I searched their email address:
http://www.wgustudents.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2037&page=22 & http://www.wgustudents.com/forum/member.php?action=profile&uid=38945

Other than that...Seems fishy to me...The pics look familiar for some reason though!

Seen this seller post the same dragon in one his first posts on this site under different morph names on a couple different ads for the same dragon. don't really remember maybe was a white hypo then a snow?

Didn't pay much attention to the ads as I would never take a chance on him.

Just my opinion on him. could just be a quirky guy, who knows?

I asked for a web site or Facebook page to view additional pictures, and he said he doesn't have then sine he's just getting back into selling dragons. Pressuring me to send the money burn still hasn't given me a quote for shipping....

Hey guys,

I just came across this conversation and figured I should jump in and address some of the comments and clarify any misconceptions you guys might have had. I am not a breeder and have never claimed to be.
I am just an individual who has been raising and collecting them for many years. Some I've raised myself, others I have purchased. I am not doing this full time, I have a career and family that take up most of my time. This is the reason I don' have a facebook page or website. I haven't been selling any of mine for quite a while, and am only now looking to make room for new ones I have. Usually when I'm posting an ad it's early in the morning or in between work or family. Grammatical errors happen due to the limited amount of time I happen to have at that moment. The way they are phrased is merely to draw interest by being a little different. I do this for fun, not as a business, though I know the breed well and take the animals in my care very seriously. If the dragon is a little under weight, has a nipped tail or toe, or has any other imperfection I am upfront about it and clearly call it out. The price I am charging for these particular ones is also reflected in the condition and I often state what the original price was. The way the comments read, it's as if I wasn't upfront about this and I tried passing something off as "perfect condition" when it wasn't. I have many others that are in perfect condition and it states just that. I have some for breeding, some for collecting, and some that my kids are raising If the dragons look familiar, it is either because I reposted it or it happens to look like another one I have from the same bloodline.
I have a lot of them, so having ones that are similar is not uncommon for me. I am certified to ship through FedEx and UPS, but have had people in the past that wanted the cheapest available shipping and that happened to be USPS. I personally would not choose this route in the interest of saving a few bucks, but not everyone feels the same way. I present options, i don't dictate to people how they should spend their money. The ones I have shipped that way arrived without any problems, so it's an option I am open to if the person knows the differences and risks up front.

As for another person/company that inserts themselves into the conversation when they too are a seller, well, that seems a little self serving and in poor taste in my opinion. If someone is asking if you can vouch for someone and I haven't communicated with or done any form of business with you then this is just your opinion which is based off of very little. Putting down my dragons doesn't make yours better, and frankly says more about you than me. I'm not out here contacting people asking them to buy my dragons, they contacted me. I understand that you are running a business and therefore have a more professional look to your
business and some of the dragons I might be selling you wouldn't want your name attached to. Some are great for certain purposes such as breeding or to get started...nothing else. The thing is, I haven't had any complaints from people that have actually received a dragon and there have been no misconceptions as to what they bought.

The people that have contacted me in the short time I have been on here have gotten my full attention and have been able to correspond with me at all times of day. I've taken time to get any information that was ever asked for whether it be pictures, bloodlines, weights, etc. I gave out my personal email address as well. If my intention was to scam people I would only communicate through fauna and take the first offer I received. I've turned down many offers if I didn't think it was the right fit or right scenario. I'm more interested in them going to the right home rather than for the right price. These are my pets, so where they go takes precedence.

I haven't been asked for references in quite awhile, and would never give out a buyers personal information without checking with them first. At the end of the day, this is a transaction between two total strangers and there is some blind trust involved. I've taken the steps available to me to try and alleviate any concerns upfront. As we know, Paypal allows for disputes between buyer and seller, and has a fiduciary responsibilty to protect both parties to the transaction. I send out the tracking number after the package is picked up, ask if the buyer wants insurance or a signature upon delivery to protect them as well. I have never pressured someone to send money, and never will. In some cases, I've refunded money and didn't ship one or more dragons when i thought it didn't look ready to ship just to avoid any future problems down the line. I will not quote any shipping prices to someone until I know what/how many items are being purchased and where there shipping zip code is since the price can vary. A business might have flat rates available to them, I do not. Therefore, the price changes with the buyer. I have stated that I only ship monday through wednesday, so if someone says they want a dragon "this week" or ask how quickly they'll get it, I will try and let them know this. Also, if I have other shipments I am already doing, it is helpful on my end to be able to do it all at once. I have to know in advance to be able to prepare them for shipping and schedule the pick up. All of this takes planning to fit it into my work schedule.

I normally wouldn't take the time to write this lengthy of a response, but I was surprised to read some of the comments on here from professional businesses and one buyer who I felt I had a good reproir with. I didn't respond to get into a back and forth, but welcome all comments or questions. I haven't been in the reptile community for some time, but don't remember it being so unwelcoming to a perceived newcomer. I feel that we are all on here for the same reasons, which is our interest in the dragons? I'm a very honest and open person, so if you ever have a question, please feel free to ask me. This was meant to clarify some facts not to change any opinions.

I wish you all well and look forward to working with all/some of you in the future if given the opportunity.

I totally respect the integrity of your post, DragonXchange.

Thank you Bill... I really appreciate that. I don't want any problems with this tight knit community and am only looking to be judged by my actions or given a chance to do what I say I'm going to do. Take care Bill.

Jon, to be taken seriously, I'd make sure my ads had proper spelling at the very least and post only pictures that are in focus.

Last bit of advice, don't even offer shipping via USPS, to many things can go wrong with that method of shipping. If you care for the animals well being, USPS shipping shouldn't even be offered.

You are welcome. I respect someone doing some research on a buyer or seller before a transaction, that's a smart idea. But then that person should be judged on their past business transactions, and not extraneous details. I guess anyone could choose who to buy from and who not to buy from for whatever reason they want. But if someone is making inquiry into a buyer or seller, I'm going to offer my experiences, either good or bad.

I'm not a business either. This is a hobby for me, and my breeding efforts to date are modest at this point. I participate on this forum so I am prepared when the time comes for me to grow and start breeding more intensively, where I would start selling online and shipping reptiles.

I wish you the best in your online reptile endeavors, DragonXchange

:)

I hear you snake queen, and will certainly try and keep the ads as clean as possible...trust me, it's not because I don't care. Often times it's being done from my phone, which gets a little messy... no excuses though. The USPS is not my preference, and actually removed the USPS from the ads. I appreciate the feedback and always take the opportunity to improve where it's needed. Thanks again snake queen!

You make some valid points Jon in defending some of your ads and you sound like a nice guy trying to do the right thing. I very rarely come on BOI and post and I definitely didn't do it in this scenario to be "self serving". I posted to protect someone from possibly making a mistake. No one should post a dragon like the one you did in the ad I referenced. I noticed that I now can't seem to find that ad so I have to assume you took it down. That dragon you posted isn't in the condition it should be. I am not going to speculate as to what is going on with it as that isn't the point. It isn't in any condition to be sold and it shouldn't be in that condition period. $95 or $950.The title of your ad also misrepresented that dragon. "RTB awesome big man". In conclusion, if you come on here and post an animal for sale, you are going to be judged by a lot of folks that love this hobby and the animals they work with. They form an opinion based on what they see in the ad. I saw some red flags and felt the need to speak up.

I am with Dave on this one. I seen one of his ads about a week ago. I noticed in the ad that nothing was mentioned about nips on that particular dragon. The dragon was clearly missing a toe in the picture. So I asked if he had any nips and he had several. The picture also didn't capture the whole dragon. So I asked for a picture to be posted of the whole dragon including the tail. Sure enough it was missing a few inches. So, there is some deception out there, be it intentional or not. RED FLAG! Of course, the thread was taken down after I made the comments.

I am not a breeder and would definitely steer clear of Dragonxchange. This is my experience.
Best of luck.

I used to breed and be in the hobby several years ago, I'm getting back into it and if someone asks you to provide references or validate your business when you come out of no where advertising several adult dragons all at once, you do what you can to do so. Post pictures with your user name if needed. Provide references of recent past customers, etc.

Hello all,
I am a newcomer to this site, and am by no means an expert on reptiles, but I certainly know a decent, honest person when I meet one, and I want to let all reading this know that this gentleman using the moniker DragonXchange is one of the most decent and honest people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I was looking for a specific kind of bearded dragon, and made inquiries to at least four different breeders on this site, including some supposed big-time breeders. Not a single one of them even bothered to respond, even though I inquired several times. But this man responded almost immediately to every single message I sent, which was quite a few since I had so many questions lol! I agreed to buy two dragons from him, but at the last minute I ended up backing out of the deal for certain reasons. Even though he had turned down several other, higher offers, and ended up being out two sales because of me, he graciously refunded my money and was so kind and wonderful to deal with through the whole ordeal. I cannot say enough good things about this kind man. He went far beyond what he was obligated to do to help me. All too often, breeders are more interested in making a buck than in being honest. This gentleman does not make grand claims about anything; he is humble and honest and cares more about his animals and his customers than in making a sale. He is a rare person and I am very grateful to him for everything! God bless all :)

I definitely feel that if a seller has a dragon with nips, the advertising picture should disclose the entire dragon and all nips.

I would just like to hear from someone who is established on the site who has has completed a transaction and been satisfied.

That's to bad that you had to cancel. Which two dragons did you buy and then have to cancel on?

Hello sir,
I bought an adult white male that was being advertised alongside another male adult citrus dragon, and then a white/citrus female to go with the white male. God bless!
