    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

As I post this I'm doing it from my smart phone. It's there an obvious platform that fauna doesn't work from when it comes to mobile? Curious

I use Tapatalk, when I just access the site via a Chrome browser on my phone, I get the desktop site which is of course pretty unreasonable on my phone. I hear it's worse on an iphone, but I would not know.
 
I use the main site from my phone and tablet on a regular basis. There are some functions that are more tedious that way; but my needs are a bit more involved than the average member.

I undeleted that within 10 minutes. There was too much missing - or, at least, not readily accessible - for me. I didn't like the interface, either; but that could have been related to the functional shortcomings. Again, though, I'm not the average user on this site.

Yeah, the control panel is pretty much non existent, but posting and replying is still there...about all I do.

I use my smart phone, for this site (and others), about 98% of the time.... and I refuse to have/use Tapatalk.
Never have any problems navigating, seeing everything, making posts, posting photos, etc.
Actually, the only problem, that I have encountered, is that I am unable to use the search fields. That is a pain, if/when I want to use the search function, but, overall, everything is okay.
Maybe some other phones have problems.:shrug01:
 
I have a classical "stupid" phone. Text-only for me. I have an Android tablet though and I do access Fauna regularly with that, but I'm useless for advice for how to optimize anything for smart phones.
 
After you click on Search - whether on the main menu or within a forum - select Advanced Search. THEN the keyboard will pop up so you can proceed.
 
The only functions that don't work for me on mobile are giving karma and searching. The little browser tries to zoom in on the floating box and it disappears or something. Regardless, I still have no real trouble using a mobile device for 95% of the intended function.
 
No. Positive karma can be given, just skip the comment piece....negative karma requires a comment, so you have to do it from a "real" computer. A fair number of people luck out that way...because it usually isn't bad enough for people to make a point of going back for it.
 
Forgot about the Karma thing. That is the only other problem, that I have, while on mobile.
Cannot leave a comment. However, at least I can still give Karma.
 
I think there have been some great valid points brought up here on different subjects related to Fauna specifically. I'm going to start a thread in the Feedback Forum so we don't total derail Jessie's question about sales.

I would really appreciate your specific thoughts about what you think you would like to see different around here. What kind of changes would you like? Functions would you like? etc. I'll put more details in the link. Please share your thoughts, please!

Back on topic, I have only been a fauna member for a few months. I don't have a Facebook account or want one. I find that there are a lot of people just browsing here, waiting for someone to give them something.

I have had fairly good success since I have been here, that being said I don't sell ball pythons. I find it reassuring to be able to look at someone's feedback as a seller and buyer. This is where I will continue to conduct my business, buying and selling.

I have a Facebook account, but I just dont like using it, I know dont, something about Facebook, just dont like it
 
I would buy from this site (and I have) in a heart beat. But cash is tight and I want to make sure I have the funds, enclosure and emergency money, before I purchase. So it's not the site or pricing... just the economy I think.

True, there is plenty of stuff I want to buy, but need the money first.
 
The economy might play a role for some; but overproduction and rapid price drops have done their damage.
Typically, I've gotten a much larger number of responses to ads on KS...but, relatively few of those responses ended with a sale. Most of my sales came from this site. This year, the responses on Fauna have been slower than usual for me - which I expected, because being the lowest price is not my goal - but I've had more people that made deals and didn't follow through than I've experienced in the past.
