I've been debating on if I should post here or not. I bought a retic today, (rescued I should say) and it's face is in horrible condition from rubbing on a metal screen lid. He is 8ft long and was in a 75g tank they said, by the photos of the ad I believe it was really a 55g. I saw their ads on Craigslist and immediately saw the bad conditions they were kept in. Tried like crazy to get the retic today, well I finally did a few hours ago. Poor guys face will most likely be forever deformed. I just wanted to warn everyone about them, so as to not sell to them.
The guy I dealt with had to be around 17, his mom was making him get rid of the snake and iguana, he told me he also has another retic, a female, but she's smaller. They really didn't want me to go down stairs, she said it was trashed, so he brought the retic up stairs. I saw his face and knew I had to get him out of there. I think he may have been autistic, seemed to have trouble speaking and talked slow (not bashing him if he is, my 4 yr old is autistic)
We settled on $80 because they just wouldn't take less. I gave $60 in cash and $20 threw paypal. Well the email he gave me I sent the money to like I said I was going to right in front of him. He tells me that account wasn't made yet. So I said ok I'll cancel it when I get home, I'll send it to another account that's active (done from paypal balance not my bank) I get home and try to cancel the first, no cancel button, so I called paypal. They told me that first account was indeed active and that is was created a long time ago. They also said the only way I'll get it back is if they refund it, fat chance. So I filed a dispute, but doubt I'll get it back.
If Scott is indeed autistic or has some sort of disability then it's his mother's fault for the animals being in such condition and buying them in the first place. I did report to the humane society also.
Just wanted to warn any retic sellers in Ohio do not sell to them. I have photos of the ads and screen shots of texts. Let me get it all in order and I will post them after this.
