This guy responded to my search of a breeder male shtctb saying he had a pair he was selling for $70 + shipping. Also said he had a female hypo, and a baby hypo x mack snow, that he could throw in if i'd like since they did not fit his projects this year. I was told the shtctb were of breeding age and weight and if i planned to breed them he'd repair them. I explained yes I planned to breed them, he told me the female just laid a clutch and he would re pair them. We had kept on and off contact for almost two months while waiting for weather to warm up. Through this time, he sent a few photos of the baby but none of the bigger ones. When the weather finally broke, I contacted him about shipping. He said that he could ship the next day and that the baby was big enough to ship also. He sent pics of them all, stating that the shtctb just laid a clutch and was on the skinnier side. Looking at the photo she appeared skinnier but I figured I could just feed her extra when she got here. When I asked for weights he stated him did not have weights on any of them.
Two days later they arrived. Arrival weights were terrible for the ages he gave me. Male shtctb, will be 2 in august weight 49 grams, Female shtctb, will be 2 in august 28 grams & gravid, Female hypo, turned 1 in february 30 grams & gravid ( which i did not ask him to pair her to anyone), and gender unknown mack snow x hypo, 6 weeks old 5 grams. Aside from them being under weight, I noticed the shtctb female had cuts all over her, when questioned he said if was from pairing her and the male every few days. The hypo female has a birth defect on her arm, which I was uninformed of preship. When questioned first he didnt know what i was talking about, then when i sent a pic he told me she was born with it. Lastly, the hypo/snow couldnt walk!!! Yup he just slithered around and could not stand on his hind legs. When I asked if he had always walked the way he was, I was told he was fine before shipping so he couldve gotten hurt during shipment. Two days later hypo/snow was still unable to walk so i contacted my vet. After vet bills and xrays the vet confirmed he was born with mbd. He did not have born mass in the lower half of all four of his limbs and his spinal cord was extremely thin. I also explained to her about the shtctb female and she recommended reconsidering keeping her eggs if she was that small since one of them would not be getting enough nutrience to both survive healthy.
I contacted him about taking the hypo/snow to the vet and how he was born with this and it was not from shipping and was told that what i said is offensive and pretty much continued to lie about him having mbd. There was no sorry for not informing you, no let me pay some of the vet bills, no refund of funds paid for sick unhealthy geckos. Just told me i was wrong and stopped messaging me. I now have 3 sick leos on my hands that I need to get back into healthy condition before I can do anything else with them, and an mbd baby who will have vet bills the rest of his life because this guy lied and never informed me of all the problems with them.
