    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I agree, the price of the animal should have nothing to do with it. Why even bother posting that kind of comment?

I've been reading this thread since the day it started, and I can't say I'd really be interested in completing a transaction with either of them to be honest. Thankfully, that will never be an issue, as I'm a snake person, but were I in the market for the animals they sell, I'd sure steer clear of them. The BOI has been an eye-opener for me, I've been reading since before I made my first purchase of an animal from a breeder online. People may think these kinds of threads don't matter, but they do, and I come back here to check out sellers so I have a good idea whether I should deal with someone or not.

I would hope other people also gain valuable information like this before initiating transactions. The only way some people will learn to conduct themselves properly is if their bottom line starts to hurt.

Absolutely right on. Unfortunately it seems some people will never learn. What's really sad is dealing with someone like this will cause some folks, who are just beginning to explore herping, to turn away from the hobby... I'm a frog lover since childhood, but I have to admit after dealing with Mike that I am more than jaded when it comes to purchasing any more frogs from anyone. :(

Just to be clear Mike "The broke little :censored:" Matson still hasn't made any attempts to make any type of honest payment in the passed month , he didn't pay the $2250 he gave his word he would , he hasn't paid the $1125 I told him he could send since he wanted to back out on his price quote on frogs he produced so in my book Mike Matson will always be trash and not someone to be trusted at his word.

People can say after reading this they will never do business with me and that's perfectly fine with me. If you don't see the correct side and the wrong side in this situation after me being so lenient with the guy then I obviously believe you have issues with understanding how to conduct proper business and I wouldn't want to deal with you anyway so you're helping us both :D My BOIs for the type of business I do stand clear on this forum not some rinky dink groups on FB, here you need FACTS and PROOF ! remember that. Stick to facebook where you're safe under fake profiles SAL AND FRAN :rofl:

Another update Mike still hasn't made any attempts to rectify this , but yet he continues to harass me while using fake profiles and third party people getting involved on Facebook. I've been contacted by people like Pat Kline who commented earlier in this to the defense of Mike , pretending to be interested in purchasing geckos while stating to me "I have a account with fedex, when we pick something can i send you a label for shipping?" in order to try to get my home address to share it with Mike and Ariel my two stalkers. Although I can't be 100% certain, but how ironic that a guy who breeds leopard geckos (Pat) is now interested in a crested gecko from me right after myself and someone who Pat's ,self admittedly done so much business with (Mike) had such a falling out. Then when Pat realized he'd have to lose a 50% deposit which was a non refundable $100 on a gecko and I made it clear that if he was relaying messages for Ariel or Mike that he would be charged as an accessory to stalking ,he all of a sudden didn't want the gecko anymore. :rofl:

People doing bad business like what Pat did helping people like Mike who ripped me off for over $2000.00 who associate with people like Ariel who has ripped off so many people local that would rather just let it go than have to deal with his stalking like I have make this hobby terrible. You can say what you want about me sending frogs without money of any sort to the supposed leader in his industry ,you can say I should've just waited till Mike's dad passed away and Mike inherits everything then maybe he'd finally pay me cause we know that's his real bank account anyway, but what you can't say is that I wasn't lenient with him about the whole situation from his lies that it was a " bad employee (who I believe is Mike himself) feeding his frogs bad batch of worms" , to the later excuse which he changed it to of "the employee over heating the water and killing them " I trusted him and he ripped me off complete fact , but know with the added harassment I've had it . Get people like this out of our hobby , THEY DO BAD BUSINESS !! :)
 
Mike Matson is definitely a very poor business man, both in how he conducts himself and how he attacks customers and anybody calling him out. Mike has many groupies who defend him no matter what, even when it is clear he is in the wrong.

It was noticed on a Facebook group that Mike Matson was shipping Pacman frogs that were significantly smaller than others on the market, and it was also noticed that these frogs had a very low survival rate. When called out on this, Mike's response was that he purposefully underfeeds these frogs as tadpoles "so they are cheaper for his wholesalers to feed." This is entirely unethical. I can only imagine what this hobby would do if somebody selling snakes did this same thing.
Here is photo proof of him talking about this in response to being called out, as if he is somehow justified in it and doing his wholesalers a service.

Also, it might not add much to this post since I cannot post proof, but I know for a fact that an "employee" did not kill that $10K batch of frogs. It was Mike himself. He accomplished this by not maintaining proper water cleanliness and the frog "toxed out". I know for a fact that he was calling and texting very experienced breeders night and day while he was going through this process in order to get advice on how to save his stock. He then goes and blames an "employee" for killing these frogs.
Even if it was an "employee", any good businessman will not blame setbacks on their employees.
 
I don't even know how he could HAVE groupies at this point... the list of people burned by him is growing by leaps and bounds. :bandhead0

This is one of the sadder posts I've read on this site. Producing sturdy, healthy critters should be the goal of every breeder.
Stunting growth and decimating survival rates is not only unethical, it is a poor business decision, after all, how much profit can be made on a dead frog?

I can only imagine how those wee miserable tadpoles must feel as life slips away from them due to deliberate starvation. :(

This makes me sick. Those poor frogs! For those that by some miracle survive I wonder what long term effects Mikes starving them will cause. If it does cause long term effects the retailer that buys them from the wholesaler is the one who will be in the hot seat when they start showing the effects in the future. He's not doing the wholesalers a favor. I'm willing to bet he doesn't do it for the wholesalers at all, I have a feeling he does it for himself, he spends less time and money if he only feeds them twice a day instead of 5.
 
It is indeed extremely deplorable to see any animal being exploited in this way. I feel terrible for these frogs when I see that they are being purposely retarded in their growth to try and maximize profits, without taking any animal welfare into account. It is animal abuse pure and simple.

Here are some of his frogs that were being sold at NARBC in Arlington by DNA Reptiles on August 29 2015. Anybody who has ever seen baby Pacman frogs knows that they should NEVER be this small, even out of the water. I witnessed these frogs firsthand (not my finger).

Also, Mike Matson has only been breeding and selling these frogs for four years or so. None of these frogs have had a chance to live even close to a full lifespan. Like Julia said I can only imagine the long term health problems associated with being starved as babies. I know that I already have been seeing tons of people on Facebook groups complaining about his frogs dying very prematurely.

I am not sure you understand this phrase sir, you have used it more than a dozen times with implied threats on numerous occasions.
 
I just bought 4 frogs from Mike Matson. Two smaller than a quarter and two that are 2". Recieved on 9/3/15. The smaller one died within a few days. The second smaller one is not eating. I force fed. But not regurgitated food from before. The other two big ones are fine. I have 8 pacmans. 2 small ones I bought from pet store and paid less are doing excellent. I paid him $120 plus shipping and never was told the size of these frogs. I was told a good breeder don't sell them this small. I don't work and was a gift for me and is just ending up being a headache. I'm very upset

Very very sorry to hear that Brenda but unfortunately that seems right in line with the latest information we have found out how he raises his frogs
So sorry for the poor little guys.....
