If I was the seller and I did something lame like that (will NEVER happen) I would at least ensure that they get a full refund with no money out of their pocket and I would even throw in something extra to absolutely make sure they are at least a little happier about the situation you know?

Your story lacks with your comments that they "ripped you off" with what is presented so far. That is my opinion.

They sent you an animal that was older and larger than you expected and you stated they offered to take it back but you had already purchased supplies so you weren't going to do it. With what you posted so far your story lacks with these claims

"They are liars"

" they will rip you off! "
"didn't offer to do anything"
" just told me that they didn't care pretty much and we're not sympathetic"

Justin, this is how the BOI works. Do not take things as personal attacks. These people for the most part are trying to help out.

They should've told you the current size of the animal before sending it.

However I'm not sure how much of a difference that would've made, since it isn't certain the animals attacked because of the few extra inches. A fight very well could've started even if it was the size specified in the ad.

If you were unhappy with the size you should've immediately contacted them for a refund, and done nothing further with the animal. You live and learn. You said you're new to this, and that is how reptiles are. Many recommend against keeping multiple lizards in the same enclosure, for reasons like this. I would personally not house bearded dragons together. Just learn from this, take the people's advice, and you'll be able to prevent something like this from happening in the future.

Their TOS says within 24 hours, so if you in fact ordered a juvenile, if you notified them instantly, they should have sent a replacement and paid shipping. You should not have to pay shipping on their error.

Post emails. I would like to see the exact exchanges between y'all showing all of the above.

I am still up in the air about hurricane exotics, there isn't enough info and evidence posted to make up my mind about them. Justin you really need to take a chill pill and try to soak up some of the info that people have shared with you, people that have been in this industry for years, decades... no one attacked you just simply pointed out mistakes hoping you could learn from them. The way you behaved when people didn't agree with you was enough for me to decide you are not someone I would be comfortable doing business with.

A more accurate title for this thread would be "Don't shop for anything but puerile behavior topped with arrogance when dealing with a whiner like me". Soak that up.

I'm not attacking you or trying to be mean but if you plan to breed I'd highly suggest tons more research. I did a whole breakdown of the cost to feed hatchlings I'll have to find it. On average it will cost $25-$30 for the first 35-45 days of their lives just for feeders. That doesn't include heating and such. So let's say each clutch has 15-20 babies and you have 3 females that's 45-60 babies. That's $1125-$1800 just for the first month and a half. They eat more as they get older and most breeders don't sell them till they are 2 or 3 months old. You sure it's a good idea still? I know from experience you will lose money the first few seasons at least. If your having trouble affording a few dragons what about 60 of them?

A STRONG WORD OF ADVISE to ALL BREEDERS and people in the future to "want" to do business with this Buyer. STAY CLEAR!!!!!!! As its more than obvious that the Buyer is trying to "Pave" a way for himself instead of taking responsibility of his own actions in this situation.

I was more than happy to help him during this unfortunate situation, however this was probably the Only customer I've dealt with in 8+ Years of being in the industry, with a Vindictive Streak and "thinks" this is how to get ahead and be successful in this Hobby.

All I can say is "Wow". They sent you the wrong sized bearded dragon, so you did something incredibly stupid with it and now want to blame it on them. I'm a food guy, so let's put this another way. It's like you ordered a boning knife and the company sent you a cleaver. Instead of doing what any rational human being would do and return the cleaver, you tried to bone out a rib eye and are now bitching at the cutlery company because you destroyed an expensive piece of meat.

Yes, they should have sent you an accurately sized animal. That fact does not excuse you from the litany of irresponsible actions that you embarked on upon receiving the animal. You and your actions killed your fiancee's animal. Did it ever occur to you that since the dragon you got wasn't the size you expected, that you shouldn't introduce them? Are you that much of a robot that you have to go by a predetermined plan at all times and have no adaptability at all? Hell, leaving alone the ABSOLUTE NEED for quarantine, that in and of itself should have told you not to introduce the animal. I have never kept a bearded dragon in yrs and only had a couple and even I know that you can't have beardies of different sizes around each other. They aren't dogs. Use that gray matter between your ears for something other than filling space.

You keep saying that people are undermining your intelligence. I offer a different viewpoint. You undermine your own intelligence with every post. Then you get all butthurt when someone points out that your actions were much, much more irresponsible than the sellers. Hell, most individuals would like getting a larger animal as long as it's color was represented accurately.

Finally, then you start insinuating that you have to believe in god in order to be a good person, smh. Seems to be working out for you, keep going.

I'm sorry, this is a bit harsh, but I haven't seen this kind of blatant irresponsibility combined with a completely external locus of control in a long, long time.
