In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Much like I sent to her with no protection for a misrepresented gecko? So she can get the gecko and file for a refund? Ya ok.. all she has to do is go in and refund through the payments already made. Sheight even be able to get paypal to refund the Older ones.

Gee where we're you when I trusted her enough to send 500 of it friends and family... you seem to insist that I won't send the gecko back.. maybe you should read again how things went. This can go many ways.. I haven't even been given the chance to send it back, have done nothing to earn distrust , yet you seem to keep insinuating that I am out for revenge and might not send it back or send it back dead. Nice.

Lisa, I bought the My Cash cards. It says I need to go through a manual identification process and submit some documentation. I will need to call Paypal or the My Cash card issuers to get this resolved and will let you know when the first $500 is sent.

Lisa, there is always one commenter who wants to stir the pot and create drama when things seem to be going so well for both parties.

It is quite possible that Kati believes Elvis is a moonglow, I don't know enough about crested gecko colors and patterns to know if there is even such a thing.

Ya, I need to just not respond..

There is no such thing as a moonglow. She told me he does not change, and he does. I don't understand how he hasn't changed in all the years she's had him, but I've had him since Thursday and he's still not white. I watch the temp, he gets misted, in a quiet area, etc.

Kati, I wouldn't even know where to cash it.. my bank is not local..
While I realize it's a bit late, USPS MO's can also be taken to any post office to be cashed in addition to being deposited into a bank account. For a large amount it's best to go to the post office near the end of the day when they have a lot of cash available in the till.

I dont insist on anything. Im recommending the person sending the money do so in a way that would leave them protected incase of the worst. As I would have with you before you bought the gecko. And im sure you can see why im confused as to why you wouldnt send the gecko back free of charge for the refund and insisted on the money first. A gecko you believe to be practically worthless and one the seller obviously values. Youd be very hard pressed to find a seller that would refund you for an item without receiving that item back first.

Not to be rude or anything, but if there is no such thing as a Moonglow why did you buy it and spend over $800? That really doesn't make sense to me. If it was as easy as it seems to figure out they don't exist, it just seems strange to me that it wouldn't have been figured out prior to purchase, especially if there were plans to breed. I do tons of research on each morph/species/animal I plan to breed before I purchase, I guess that's why I don't understand why it wasn't figured out before putting out such a large chunk of money.

Dude, PayPal doesn't even offer protection for live animals regardless of how the cash is sent. Very rarely does someone get a resolution in their favor, they have to be extremely lucky.

Nevermind it could be considered a good faith transaction on the seller's part to simply give the refund and get the whole mess sorted out rather than dragging it on and on. Yeah, gosh, it's a business, I had NO IDEA, thanks for informing me.

Give it a rest. Kati is making the customer whole and showing faith that Lisa will do the right thing. IF something goes wrong at this point, then you can start having a fit over how it's concluded.

Also, if the refund had gone through properly originally, they're also be no "protection" about he gecko. So it's a moot point.

Moon glow is a term that has been blown completely out of proportion. It was used by R. Hamper in her book and defined as a word that she personally uses to describe geckos who are light or white in color. Since then, others began using the term, and it eventually warped to mean a gecko that is stark white fired up and down. The continued use is either due to ignorance (the main case, as a lot of websites will list moon glow as a "morph") or deception (i.e. sellers who ramp up prices on "super-rare moon glow crested geckos" that are actually red/yellow/tan geckos that fire down light). All of that being said, I see people fooled by the term moon glow almost every single day int the crested gecko community. There is more information out there saying that all-white geckos exist than there is otherwise, although the opposite case is true. :)

Actually that statement is at this point in time, factually incorrect!
If live animals are paid for in ONE transaction and by goods and services they will at least review the case and I personally know people who have received a refund from PayPal after winning the case.
Somewhat irrelevant to anything here though.........

It sounds like you have gotten a very good resolution here Lisa, and despite some hiccups on how to refund, Kati has made good on her word
Congratulations and hopefully this unfortunate mess can be taken as a lesson learned

As Julia stated earlier, ALWAYS do some thorough research BEFORE spending a serious amount of money, heck I spend time to check animals out if only $100 or less, at $800.....

Again very sorry you went through this and just glad it has had a relatively speedy and satisfactory outcome.....compared to many I assure you.

With paypal, I made it clear it was an animal. Not once did they say I was not covered due to that. It was because I made multiple payments on one item. They still put the dispute in, and said, that if she responds within the 11 days given, the case will close with no further investigation because I am not protected. If she did not respond by the end of the 11 days, the dispute would close in my favor. Keep that in mind when doing more then one payment for one item through paypal regardless of what you are buying.

As far as research.. the research I did is look up Kati as a seller. I found her site when I was using google. I found her listing that was here after emailing her and already talking to her. Based on all the good feedback, I trusted her and her knowledge. She informed me that he does NOT change. Again, with nothing but good being posted about her, my rationalizing thought, if he did change, it was minimal.. as in the faint yellow getting darker, but his white staying white. Which could possibly be missed. That would have been ok for me... pretty actually.. but that is not the case. He was brown when I unbox ed him. As in, he still isn't white and it's been a week. That most certainly is a drastic change from being a white gecko that NEVER changes as she had stated to me. My trust was 100% in her that what she told me was true. I've had a lot going on the past few months, and it's been only recently that I started in many gecko groups on fb mostly just watching for females. I had even stopped coming here because I had so much going on.

Should I have looked more into it? Of course.. but I thought I had done enough and found a breeder who I could trust.

He is sweet.. and in the short time he's been here, he will be missed. But it is what it is, and it was wrong. I hope he will no longer be misrepresented and at least find a good home if she resells him. I'd hate to think he will go through this again and go through the post again. ....he is sweet and should be listed as what he truly is.
