Back in Dec, I contacted Kati about a crested she had for sale. I was gullible enough to fall for her con job, and not finding any bad feedback on her, I trusted her. I am out $820.00.
I first contacted Kati about geckos on her site. She informed me she only had three left, one of which was the white I love. She told me he never changes. She also warned me about people claiming their crested geckos were actally moonglows, when in fact they are just fired down reds or buckskins. I found one case in all her posts here where someone said something to her on her add for this particular crested gecko, but the add was removed. I believed her about the person when she stated the flack she gets from certain people, and that the admin have warned THEM. Because there was nothing negative, and all positive, I went ahead and started payments. It was supposed to go until the end of feb, but due to medical emergencies, it enters to the last of March.. Last payment made on April 1st. He couldn't be sent anyway due to weather.
I had asked questions, some were "put off"... and it wasn't until after he was paid that she told me things.. ie: he's 7-8 years old, and he came from a hobby breeder where she purchased a bundle and she found him under everyone else. :| That didn't sit well with me, but he was on his way so I will see when he gets here. I Was excited, my kids were excited.. then we open the box
He was brown. Not white.. he was fired up.
I contacted her about this, not really sure what to say without letting the jersey come out..and she said to let him calm down. Two days later, another pic.. still brown.... yesterday, another pic.. still not white or even cream.
Ok, I know.. and before you say anything, I trusted her and figured, she's had him for a while at least, surely this person who has nothing but good posted about her is telling the truth. If he fired up, maybe it was just the yellowing got darker where it wouldn't be that noticable.. but honestly, how anyone doesn't see a crested get fired up over the years she's had him, is beyond me.
She offered to send me free of charge the last two geckos she had, of which I am not interested in. I gave her two choices.. either refund my money and have whoever she used for shipping come pick him up due to false advertising, or refund 690 and consider the 110 full payment for a pet quality gecko with shipping. She did not respond. I filed a dispute with paypal on three of the 5 transactions (last two I sent were personal, and no she didn't ask me for that..) so I figure I bit it on those two, but what I didn't know was that there is No buyer protection for multiple payments on ONE item. If she responds, the case is closed and It goes in her favor. Well, she couldn't respond to me but she responded to them. I'm waiting to see if I can get screen shots, but she claims she told me he changes and referred to her site for policy. She should have referred to her false advert about him being a moonglow.
Admin, I don't want to upload images to another site to post here.. if I can get an email, I can forward every single email from start to end, as well as photos.
This gecko is far from high end. And certainly not worth near what she got for him. I know she won't care because she only has two left to sell, but if this helps anyone else see that she is less then honest, then so be it.
I'm doing this from my phone so it's harder to navigate.
Guys, I'm really upset about this and by posting here, I expect to hear flack... I had a hard time coming here to post bast on what I have seen in others... but I stand by my claim, feeling like a total nimrod already. I've cried enough over the trust I gave and just don't need to be battered more, so please take it easy.
