In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Need some advice on a situation involving Alea Rodriguez.

Interesting how a "problem" with Keith only came up because someone made Maela angry (not that I condone making public anyone's mental health status, true or fabricated).

:iagree: I was typing almost the same thing when you posted your reply. She's had the snakes for at least a few days, if it were me I would make it a point to post about them the day I received the snakes. Waiting until someone said something she didn't like makes it very hard to believe her story. After reading this thread the first thought that came to mind was, when did the romper room come to fauna?! The amount of immaturity in this thread was shocking.
Also back to what Lucille said, acting the way alea continues to here doesn't just ruin her reputation here, I know of quite a few companies that do searches online as part of the hiring process. I have done searches when hiring people and if I found this thread I would never consider hiring alea. I really hope this serves as a learning experience and they both make a bigger effort to step back and think long and hard, and read and reread before they submit their responses.

If it were me and someone gave away the wrong snake, I wouldn't wait, I'd be making a post immediately. I'd be furious (my snakes are pets first, losing a beloved pet is NOT going to go silently).

It just comes across as suspicious to wait and bring it up later. I've done the same thing, too, someone did something and I just didn't want to deal with bringing it up, until my boss accused me of something I didnt do. First thing out of my mouth was "yeah, well, so-and-so did this other thing!" She didn't listen, of course, because it was irrelevant, even if true.

Same situation here. Maybe it's true. Who knows? Unless proof is posted, it's an empty accusation made in anger, nothing more.

Exactly, that's been my 13 year olds mo lately, everything she gets in trouble the first thing out of her mouth is but so and so did this or my dad said this about you. It's an attempt to defer the attention away from her and onto someone else. In my opinion it just shows the level of maturity, a 13 year old doing it is one thing but a mature adult just looks like a child when they do that.

I am now regretting encouraging Alexia to return the snakes. I wouldn't trust Malea with a goldfish....

Normally I would say they are adults and can make their own decisions
However it appears they have both proven to be anything but.....

Feel sorry for Keith AND for any animals in their "care"

Also he wouldn't have done so had I not paid him to do so!!!

First, GROW UP! You're acting like an impudent child. I don't care how you were treated by anyone else. How you portray yourself to others should be something you care about.

Second, they are YOUR snakes, so YOU should have to pay to get them returned to you. It doesn't matter who returns them. If you wanted them back, you pay shipping. It's not a hard concept.

Third, A big shout out to Keith for helping to get the matter resolved. If I were you though, I'd wash my hands of ever dealing with either party EVER! Nothing but a big cluster from both females involved.

The unjustified entitlement coming from this...person is unbelievable. Absolutely sickening, imo.

Keith, I think you reached out from the kindness of spirit and attempted to help this person, for which I commend you. Unfortunately, this ungrateful wretch isn't capable of appreciating what you did. Personally, I would wash my hands of her.

~Beau

Complaining about having to pay to have them returned to her is pathetic, she's lucky someone housed and cared for them for free for almost a year, I've never met such an ungrateful person in my life!

Unfortunately, the majority of that generation has an over-inflated sense of entitlement. They think they should be given everything for nothing and not have to have any penalties when they do something wrong. Again, I'm speaking about the majority, not the whole generation. There are some in that generation who are actually mature and can handle being a grown up. The rest think they're owed something for living.

Both the OP (Elexis) and the Snake Owner (Alea or Maela...) were in the wrong in this entire thread, yet they both thought they were right; ensuing in the cluster which is this thread. I say this time and time again; my 2 children (both under the age of 10) have better manners than I saw out of either party in the main start of this thread. I'm sorry, but if this is the future of the industry/hobby, then we're all screwed.

While common sense says I should keep my mouth shut, I will respond. If you want to keep your rants private, I cvan ignore them. But if you choose to attempt to defame me, I will respond. Yes, we delivered the wrong snake to the purchaser, which was sold because the owner (apparently) had no way to pay for the shipping of her animals otherwise. It was an error. So what was the result? We drove out to the purchaser and brought the "right" snake and took back the "wrong" snake, all within 72 hours. And yes, we would not have shipped the animals if she had not paid (less than the billed amount, btw) for that cost, as initially agreed.
The Boa that is ill, had no blatant signs of distress when shipped. But clearly, if he is that sick (and we have no proof other than the poster's word) part of that is our responsibility. But the poster "needs" the refund in order to pay the vet, even after we offered to have the charge put on our credit card while waiting for an SYR refund due to FedEx's failure to deliver next day. She will have any refund due (for the record she paid $100 on a $122 shipping bill that would have been over $200 if not for coupons we had) as soon as we receive it.
We are a non-profit rescue. We ate a few bucks on this situation to try to make everyone happy. And, no, we were not perfect. But apparently no good deed goes unpunished in our business these days.

At this point, the only reason I beleive the two parties aren't one in the same is because of third party witnesses who claim to know both.

The shipping refund has been made, as confimred by Ms. Rodriguez text, and we have been rewarded with a passive/aggressive complaint on some FB page and a PayPal complaint about the original payment for boarding, claiming goods were not received. I guess I now need to figure out how to prove how many rats were actually eaten by these snakes and how much electricity was used.. I will post screen shots tomorrow, but not before a discussion with my attorney regarding fraud, defamation and slander claims. I am tired and POd and should sleep before posting something that may be both appropriate (per the BOI) and inappropriate(per common sense) at the same time, if you catch my drift. I apologize for my frustration.

Mr. Gisser

If I was in your shoes there would be a profanity filled rant that would linger over the Pacific Northwest for decades to come.

In saying that I will give psuedo legal advice. Stop posting here. Talk to your lawyers have them deal with this thread and the problem. You have nothing to defend or any point to win. You did a good deed and was punished for it. Lawyer up and let them handle it. If anyone tries to paint you as a bad person on this deal, the community will handle it.

Sorry for spelling and grammar typing on phone.

Filing a charge back is such a nice way of saying thank you... I'd like to see some proof that the snakes are actually sick.

Ironically, that is EXACTLY what my attorney has suggested in our conference today. Therefore (his wording)"Due to likely future litigation, I will not be providing the aforementioned screen shots or posting on this thread any longer."

Lol
It is not ironic, just exactly what ANY good attorney should tell somebody in this situation.

Good luck sir and a crying shame your good deeds were rewarded in this fashion

Pretty sure EVERYBODY who has read this thread knows just who the bad guys are and who is the good guy here!
